More like two obsessions!!

I now have a phone that has the motion option on photos.
Said phone allows me to export those photos into gif forms.
My overly active boys can no longer avoid the camera.
Expect a lot of rat GIFs
Don't you mean rat GIFts?
Do you guys wanna see something VERY important?
Here it is…..

LITTLE HANDS!!!
Been busy making new beds. Trying new designs and sizes. I for some reason love the huge beds that fit perfect on the half level of a DCN.
Innocent, absolutely innocent. So pure. How do people cringe and say 'eeww' to that!!!
PSA about pet safety
A few days ago, my green-cheeked conure (Milo) was attacked and killed by one of my pet rats. It’s the worst thing that has ever happened to me and it’s incredibly painful to talk about, but I want to use this experience to warn others and hopefully save some animals from harm or even death.
First off, pets of different species should almost never be allowed to interact with each other if they are not being supervised. (There are obviously some exceptions, but it is always best to play it safe.) I thought Milo and the rats would be fine because I was supervising them, I know all of their personalities, and I have years of experience with animal care and animal behavior assessment.
I was right there when it happened. I was watching them so closely and I was prepared to grab any of them if anything happened. In fact, I didn’t even let them get within a foot of each other unless I was holding onto them securely.
When the incident happened, I had the rats on my bed and Milo was on top of his cage (which is right next to my bed). The rats weren’t even near him - they were on pretty much the complete opposite side of my bed. Milo jumped onto my bed and one of the rats just darted at him unexpectedly. She had already jumped on him and knocked both of them off the bed before I even had time to react.
I never would have imagined this happening. If anything, I was more worried about Milo hurting one of the rats than the other way around. By the time I pulled the rat off of him, he was already taking his last breaths.
I wanted to share this story because I want people to learn from this horrific accident.
No matter how closely you are watching your pets and no matter how well you think you know them, their personalities, and their behavior, it is always safest to just not let pets of different species interact with one another (ESPECIALLY if they come from different orders within the animal kingdom or if there is a major size difference).
I am absolutely shocked and devastated. I want at least one good thing to come from this, even if it is just preventing an animal from getting bit by another animal. Accidents happen and animals are unpredictable. Please learn from my mistake and keep your pets safe. Thank you.
This is hard to read but it is still SO important. Please listen to OP and keep your pets safe.
I’ve had a rat kill a bird that was in my hands. In the wild rats eat and kill birds and their eggs, it’s instinct. Could be the sweetest rat blob but suddenly instinct kicks in. Birds are fragile, it doesn’t take much of a bite for them to bleed out in an instant. DO NOT MIX BIRDS WITH OTHER ANIMALS.
Stuff like this is why I get SO STRESSED whenever I see those videos of “the cute doggie is besties with this tiny budgie!” Because a golden retriever could eat a budgie in one bite but I still see people peddle it for views.
Just… please don’t let predator and prey species interact ever. Rats especially cannot be trusted around other small animals as they are territorial predators and will relentlessly attack and shred anything they perceive to be an interloper on their turf (my boy Bartleby has tried to attack cats through his cage)
Please learn from other’s tragedies and don’t repeat them.
OP I’m sorry for your loss.
This is very important. I’m so sorry for your loss OP
Even on the opposite scale, passed girl Mimzy was super territorial against anything that was not another rat. I had her on my bed just playing like always, and my medium sized dog in her bed on the floor. Mimzy caught a glimpse of her move and launched herself off my bed and onto my dogs face. She bit her multiple times in the lips before I could even get up. Its so scary thinking maybe my dog might kill her with one bite. I actually had to pry her mouth off of my dog. My dog had to go to the vet for antibiotics for that. Goes to show, animals are unpredictable. OP I'm sorry for your loss as well, I dont know what I would do if I lost another budgie to a different pet. (Same dog killed one of my birds over a year ago by jumping and catching him out of the air) you never know what they will do. Big or small, keep them seporate.
⚠️please reblog!!⚠️

Ok, so I attempted to make a little blown rat, and this is what I got!! I won't be using clear glass much anymore cause its SO hard to see. But this lil guy was a complete success, minus my vent hole didn't end up where I wanted it. And my forming is still a bit lumpy, but better!
