Jim bouta get wacked while trying to enjoy the old blender lid not expecting his mom to be home. This is what he gets for not telling his mom anything. (I tried my best with the lighting and perspective) this is kind of a tease at the coming chapters of my Fic.

A big... obstacles I've always faced when trying to sell the idea of Buffcup, even to myself is that it destroys the correlation between Hiccup's physicality and character. Because let's be real, Hiccup's small stature and lack of strength defines him, at least in the first movie, it contributes to his motivation, and we can assume, to parts of his character.

Now theoretically, I could just bypass the implicated changes to his character. Being buff doesn't mean he'd have to be stupid or less kind, that trail of thought derives from a separation of mind and body caused by the whole "nerd vs/or jock" zeitgeist in the 90s, and is mostly in real life untrue. And besides, it a crack fic idea.

But still, everytime I try to present the idea, the people I present it to can't simply shake of the feeling of general "wrong". So that has been the pain problem.

But what if it wasn't?

What if I made it not a bug, but a part of his character? The general feeling of wrongness, motivating him to keep working hard, but the feeling only increases and he hides it. What if he didn't exactly initially want to be that way, but had to do it and roll with it. And now can't fit inot his own skin, not unlike he did in canon, just stemming from the opposite direction.

See this all comes from the 16 ways Buffcup chapter I'm writing, and I genuinely believe, I've figured out the formula on how to make this quite outlandish prompt work.

Some info!

Katara and Sokka's face markings are based on the Painted Lady and Warrior makeup (respectively)-- on top of giving Sokka some winged eyeliner to resemble a wolf's markings (as the master of wolves), and a semi-circle on Katara's forehead as a symbol of equality (as the goddess of justice).

Gods don't technically "die" in this AU-- it doesn't happen often, but when it does, they usually become one with their domain. When Gyatso died, as the god of the wind, he turned into the wind and could only communicate through wind chimes (small signs/yes/no-- he can't communicate complex thoughts).

When Kya died, she turned into the starry sky. Hakoda, grieving his wife, would often study her form in the sky and learned to use the patterns of her stars to navigate, which made him become god of navigators.

When Kya died, people started praying to Sokka and Katara for matters of family and home-- it's not actually their domain, but they gratefully accept the duties that come with taking over for their mother.

Katara's necklace has sharp points in this to relate to her mother's star domain.

Katara's cloak is a sealskin (as the matron of sealife)

Yes, Sokka's leg is still hurt in this (still trying to figure out the story behind that, but I love when characters get permanent injuries in media and I'm KEEPING IT) he has a cane-- doesn't always need to use it but he has it!

Sokka's cloak is a polar bear dog's hide (as the god of hunting)
