Siberia Is On Fire, because “it’s too expensive” to care

By now we got more than 4.5M hectares of forest on fire.

We got people choking with smoke and animals burning alive.

We also got a NAUGHT coverage in federal media.

Summer 2010 in Moscow felt like a gas chamber, but this is literal extermination. If you ever wondered, yes, I am from Russia. If we sound something to any of you, please sign the petition down below:

What‘s been done so far? (A bunch of recent news).

The Emergencies Ministry officially responded to the petition, commenting that both ground- and air-based units would be augmented, as well as aviation units, firefighters and emergency workers to confront the fire are to be involved.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev intrusted the governors to take personal control of the situation.

Yesterday President Vladimir Putin intrusted servicemen of the Russian Ministry of Defense to join in suppressing of wildfires.

Emergency mode has already been imposed in 4 regions of the Russian Federation: the Irkutsk Region, the Krasnoyarsk Region, two areas of the Republic of Buryatia, and one area of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The deputy of the Communist Party Mikhail Shchapov, who represents the Irkutsk Region in the State Duma, supported the petition. He suggested that the government of the Russian Federation consider imposing emergency mode on the federal level in Siberia and the Far East.

We hope we’ll be able to change situation for the better soon and also prevent resembling catastrophes in the future: yesterday a bill was introduced to the State Duma, which is to ban the regional authorities from refusing to put out forest fires by pleading predictable damage. There has definitely been some heavy rain, and the strength of aviation in use is not enough, but all the steps taken mean the world to us!
