Жессе Жонс

Посмотрели мы Джессику Джонс, в общем. После Сорвиголовы ожидания были до небес, еще и столько хайпа вокруг. Но сериал не разочаровал, я прямо в восторге, по многим параметрам даже превзошел Сорвиголову. Во-первых, по сюжету. Дердевил после JJ кажется простеньким повествованьицем о том, как чувак пытается устранить главгада, по пути побивая лоу-левел боссов типа типичных русских бандитов и ниндзь. Во-вторых, ЖЕНСКИЕ ПЕРСОНАЖИ ЙЕХУУУ. Бальзам на мою феминистическую душонку. Джессика суперкрута, но при этом с недостатками, ее отношения с Триш суперкруты, злая Тринити крута, КЛЭР О КЛЭР медсестра моей мечты. В-третьих, злодей. Я фанатка Теннанта и много говна с ним пересмотрела, но даже мне было очевидно, что марвел сделали самого чудовищного, бесчеловечного, беспринципного мерзавца. Теннат играет выше всяких похвал, персонаж получился очень обаятельный. Моментами его было жаль, но это именно та реакция, которой Килгрейв и добивался)  Единственное, что прям очень уступает DD, это постановка драк. Но это, в общем, и не фокус сериала, главное - персонажи. Даже отбросив супергеройский бэкграунд, Джессика Джонс - отличная драма сама по себе. Надеюсь, дальше будет еще круче.

I am sad

Hey Sydney and Perth,   Nothing could make me sadder than what I’m about to say. I’m really unwell and apparently, as I’ve been told by the 4 doctors I’ve seen in the last 24 hours, I have had acute laryngitis which has gotten much worse and now developed sinusitis, leaving me too sick to sing. In the last week I’ve been to Washington DC, Toronto, New York, London, and Sydney, and it just feels like my body and voice have finally given up on me. I have family flying in for this show, friends flying in, journalists coming, music industry people coming that I’ve been looking forward to meeting for months, my record label who I care so deeply about and who work so hard every day (and who haven’t seen me play yet), this was my first home show (!!!!), and most importantly there’s you guys waiting outside the venue already, and I’m the fucking sickest I’ve probably ever been in my life. It sucks. I’m on antibiotics, medication to reduce mucus, a full dose of steroids, have drunk loads of water and been gargling everything under the sun - all to no avail. Hopefully the three or four days rest I get now will be enough to get me better. Thank you for buying tickets, thank you for caring, thank you for understanding, and I swear I will be back and better than ever, with my voice, so so so so so soon (we’re already scrambling to look at new dates) to hug you guys, apologise, and give the hopefully amazing shows that you deserve. Love you, love Troye xxxx

Not only does the Doctor not save Kid Davros, he also commits a worse sin—dangling the possibility of radical optimism and ingenuity in front of the kid and then just leaving with the promise unfulfilled. The Doctor seems to be almost in the process of turning Kid Davros into one of his companions, until he realizes who this is, and he offers the notion that even if you only have a one-in-a-thousand chance of survival, that one chance is all you need. It’s almost crueler to introduce hope and then take it away, than never to offer it in the first place.
