He has been out for about 2 months, and in the time since his bandmates (as he is part of a musical group) have been nothing but extremely loving and supportive towards him, even rebranding from “Xtraordinary Girls” to “Xtraordinary Genes” as a way to support him :D

Before me lie two paths

1. I apply my skills in tech writing, listen to made up words for standardized procedures all day, and sell my soul to the tech gods. And I'd be rich.

2. I stick to my academia path. I will live on the border of the poverty line for the next ten years. And I'll never be appreciated enough, work overtime unpaid every day, and MAYBE one day land a decent job with actual benefits. But I'd get to do what I love.

I used to use the phrase "don't borrow grief from the future" a lot, but you ever feel upcoming grief so crushing that it destroys everything that comes before it?

My dad is sick and alone in a hospital nearly 1000 miles from where I am right now. And I'm not even supposed to know he's on death's fucking door because he loves me too much to tell me he might die alone up there. I have to find out from my mother and talk to my dad like I don't know how he's doing.

I worked all morning. I'm about to go sit in class for 6 hours. And then I will get up at 6 tomorrow and drop my beloved dog off at the vet to get testing to find out if she has bone cancer.

How the fuck am I supposed to go about my day? To work and study and take care of my partner and other pets like my world isn't collapsing?

HELP ME WITH A TUMBLR BUG

I don't use tumblr that much anymore, but it's because of a years-long glitch that's plagued me since 2021!!!

Tumblr makes me follow random blogs, about one a day, even when I don't log on all day.

You probably don't believe me. People change their urls, pfps, and content every day. BUT I SWEAR TO GOD I DON'T KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE!!!

Evidence:

I know last time I checked, I was following 150 blogs. This was after the last time I cleared my following list of people I didn't know, inactive blogs, etc.

I'm following over 200 blogs now and I don't recognize a lot of them.

I will open tumblr and half my feed is spam, fandoms I can't even identify from tags, and posts that are simply abhorrent (generally for political reasons). It makes the app and website unusable until I comb through my following list. As a grad student with two jobs, that ain't happening anytime soon.

Does literally ANYONE!! else experience this??? If so, did you ever fix it?
