Zander ran as fast as he could.
They did it, they did it again. Over and over again until he couldn't endure it any more, to the point where he had to run to somewhere he could be himself again. But he could never be real Zander, can he? Never did his true colours fall into the scenery around him. He had to act like he was ''perfect'', that he was polite and intelligent and wasn't one of those messed up teens from Blackbrook. But it was just a sick joke, all of it. He had to study ten times more than his siblings because they were all naturally gifted, he had to capture his parents' attention by doing something outstanding and whilst he was polite to everyone and acted selflessly amongst others, he wanted to scream and shout sometimes, say how he really felt.
But what was the point? Like his parents always said: ''Nobody cares, Alexander.''
There were tears streaming down his face, rivers drifting down his cheeks. It was dark outside so no one seemed to notice. He headed over outside the school building, escaping the sense of grief, though it seemed to follow him where ever he walked.
With his hoodie pulled over his head, he clenched his fists, his heart hammering hard against his chest. Swallowing hard, Zander walked into the freezing night air, having no sense of direction.
Until he heard the screaming.
As stopped in his tracks, he saw a light from afar and followed it. Incidentally, the screaming got louder, followed by a sudden chant that sounded like: ''fight, fight, fight!'' He wondered who would be fighting at a time like this.
He saw a head of blonde hair on top of another body, punching and kicking the person underneath. He had no idea who both girls were, until the second one got up from a kick to her stomach, revealing her blue hair. They were both bleeding, with scratches and bruises and they looked a mess. However, Vanessa seemed to stumble a little, and he felt like it wasn't because of the fight that just happened.
Whilst everyone was being useless and wanted a good fight, he stepped in and grabbed her from the waist, not too hard because he knew her stomach must've been hurting from all those kicks. He looked at the blonde and the thugs, mouthing for the to run. When they just froze, he Vanessa down and shouted at all of them. ''I swear to fucking God if you little shits don't run now I will make you regret your decision.'' Rapidly, they made a run for it, clearly afraid of what Zander had just become in a matter of seconds.
It was sad to think that people like his parents had made him like this.
Picking up Vanessa again, he took her to a small spot near a lake, then turned to face her. His lips traced no smile, his face was vacant. It was probably because he let out a side to him that was supposed to be who he really was, and he showed it to Vanessa, who pretty much became the closest friend he had here. He looked at her face and then took off his hoodie, handing it to her in case she was cold. Zander then took off his shirt but he really didn't care who saw his body. It was a fresh shirt so he used it to clean the blood away from her face and the drops that ran down her arms, the small ruby patches on her knees.
Folding his arms, he looked up at her. ''What the fuck?'' He asked, trying to calm himself down. But his emotions were running all over the place.
