hi everyone! i'm deathinsoftfocus (or just death, for short), & i write fanfiction of all varieties, but mostly whumps, thrillers, dark romance, & stories where love and obsession get a little too cozy with each other. (i'm looking at you, hannigram)

starting today, i'll be posting every monday morning with updates on all my current wips + a tentative writing schedule for the week :). think of this as your weekly check-in for what i'm working on, what's been posted, & what's coming up next. this is my info dump for what's currently happening lol.

fic updates --- temp hiatus

hey everyone, small life update 🙃

so. as it turns out, real life has a way of showing up uninvited and derailing everything, and in my case that means i've found myself dealing with some legal stuff (yes, including an arrest, some brief time in jail, all my coworkers giving me shit, and legal fees.)

i'm mostly okay, i'm handling it, and i fully intend to come back and finish what i started, because i would never leave you all without an ending. none of my fics are abandoned, i am just temporarily indisposed by the judicial system.

no eta on updates right now, but i appreciate every single one of you and all the comments and kudos in the meantime keep me going. i'll be back when i'm back. try not to miss me too much. :')

Best place for a whumpee to be: jail cell separate from but visible to a friend.

Medic and whumpee captured together, medic desperately trying to walk Whumpee through first aid before they pass out from blood loss, unable to get to them.

Leader whumpee getting beat to shit in clear view of their team and none of them can help.

Rivals/enemies captured together, watching the other get hurt and realizing in the worst way possible that some part of them cares for the other.

Well I'll always like a fever when possible, it's so versatile! Minor illness? Got it! Dangerous medical event? Got it! Want them hot? want them cold? Want them to feel both? Fever! They can be miserable, they can be gently tended to, they can be delirious, they can be weak and vulnerable, they can be getting into hijinks, they can be dizzy, they can can get a cold compress or a warm blanket they can have fever dreams grhghgghghghh
