Makoto sat down on the bed and a let out a sigh. Should she say something? She really wasnât sure; she didnât want to make him uncomfortable after all. âI⊠wellâŠâ She cut off again, her violet eyes looking at him trying to get her words out.
âI just wanted to say that I have enjoyed your company. Iâve gotten very comfortable with having you around.â She said her face slightly blushing. She hoped that he wouldnât think she was a weirdo for saying this, but it was how she felt. Her heart was racing as she flopped back on the bed, letting out a long sigh. She was exhausted but knew she needed to take a shower. âIâm going to take a shower first if thatâs alright with you.â She said to him as she stood up and gathered her items from her bag to take in there with her.
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 16
âYeah? Well, I feel the same way.â Law replied, glad their feelings were mutual now that they were out. He noticed her blush, it probably took some courage to say that out loud, so he added a little more.
âI still feel like an outsider in this world, but itâs always been easier, with you around.â Even comparing it to working with Sakura at Konoha hospital, he still felt most comfortable around Makoto, because she was there from the very beginning of his arrival, having first found him.
âYeah, go ahead. Iâll take my shower after yours,â he gave her a nod about showering first. While he waited, Law had a lot to think about. Who knows how long it would take for the possibility of him returning to his world, back to his crew.
Makoto smiled, happy that what she said to him was alright. Her face flushed slightly. "I'm glad to hear that, makes me feel good to know we feel the same." She said as she grabbed her bathroom items from her backpack, heading into the bathroom. She shut the door behind her, not feeling afraid to lock it like she had with others before.
Getting into the shower, the warm water on her body felt nice. Especially after the long day they had during their travels to this place. She stood for a moment, letting out a long sigh as she washed her hair.
After she was done, she put shorts and a tank top on her hair was still in a towel. She opened up the bathroom door and smiled at Law, seeing him sitting on the bed. "All yours."
Reblog this post if you do not mind long RP responses.
Itâs come to my attention that I am fully capable of getting really carried away when it comes to typing out RP replies, so I wanted to see how many people are totally okay with receiving long responses on threads. Personally, Iâm completely okay with it because it makes for a fun challenge when thinking up a reply. But what about you guys? Are you comfortable with long replies?
Makoto blinked at the receptionistâs question, her fingers tightening slightly around the plushie. She glanced at Law, cheeks still tinged pink from earlier, and gave a soft laughâhalf nervous, half amused.
âWell⊠weâve been through worse together than sharing a room,â she said, trying to keep her tone light but sincere. Her eyes met his, searching for a hint of his reaction. âIf youâre okay with it, I donât mind.â
She turned back to the receptionist with a small nod. âA room for two is fine.â
As they headed toward the room, Makoto stole a glance at Law again. âYou know,â she murmured, âActually never mind.â
The plushie bounced slightly in her arms as she walked, a quiet reminder of the strange, comforting bond they were building in this unfamiliar world.
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 15
âThatâs true. I suppose it would be, convenient.â Law replied, keeping cool while choosing his words carefully in front of the receptionist. So they got a room for two, no problem, right? Well, if the receptionist was already assuming things, then the whole place would if they were in separate rooms, and it was ideal for them to keep a low profile, especially Law himself as an outsider.
Still, he shared a glance with Mokoto as they headed to their room. With the door locked behind them, Law could finally be more honest in their privacy.
âWhat was it, Makoto?â he asked her as he examined the room. Referring to what she wanted to say before, maybe she wanted them to be in the room first, too.
Makoto sat down on the bed and a let out a sigh. Should she say something? She really wasn't sure; she didn't want to make him uncomfortable after all. "I... well..." She cut off again, her violet eyes looking at him trying to get her words out.

Hearing him reassure her made her feel better about rambling about herself. It took Makoto a long time to open up to anyone, because besides her parents she didnât have anyone growing up. Moving to Konoha was the best choice for her life and she would forever be grateful to it.
Her eyes widened as she watched Law win the game and give her the plushie. âAre you sure you donât want it?â He told her to keep it, so she smiled holding it with the other one. She grinned, her violet eyes shining at him. âThanks Law..â She said feeling her pale cheeks blush slightly as they continued to walk through the festival.
She looked over at him. âI⊠I feel very comfortable around you, like I feel safe. A lot of people havenât made me feel like that before and itâs nice.â She said smiling, hoping she didnât sound weird to him. She could feel her heart racing, what was it about this man that made her feel so at ease; but also so nervous?
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 14
âYeah,â Law affirmed with a slight nod at Makoto keeping the Bepo-like plushie, it was more her thing than his. Though he noticed the change in her cheeks, making him more self-conscious of their situation, it almost looked like a date.
âI could say the same about you; I donât trust anyone else,â he admitted in return. Although the former pirate had become a medic-nin like Sakura in this ninja world, he still felt like a medical stand-in at times.
Law had no choice but to be reliant on Makoto ever since he arrived in this new world, Naruto was a close second, allowing him to stay in Konoha. Though he didnât show it much, he was grateful for their hospitality, even though there seemed to be a lessening chance for him to return home as more time passed.
âCome on, letâs go rest at an inn overnight,â he suggested once they finished exploring the festivities. It was a lovely night, but it gave him a lot to think about, to the point that he was caught off guard once they got to an inn.
âWould you like a room for two?â Reception asked them, assuming they were a couple.
Makoto blinked at the receptionistâs question, her fingers tightening slightly around the plushie. She glanced at Law, cheeks still tinged pink from earlier, and gave a soft laughâhalf nervous, half amused.

Makoto listened closely to him, hearing about his childhood. âOh wow, you must have been pretty busy as a kid helping them out. I bet they really appreciated it.â She said giving him a small smile.
Hearing him ask her about her enjoyment in festivals. âHonestly, I didnât do too much as a kid. My village I grew up in was cruel because of my looks so my parents kept me inside a lot. It wasnât until I moved to Konoha a few years ago that I started going to them. Now I go with Sakura every year when Konoha has theirs.â She said smiling, looking down a bit. âI feel like part of my childhood was ripped from me since I didnât really have one. After my parents died and I left Tsukigakure, I felt like I could finally live now.â She told him.
âSorry, I didnât mean to dump that all on you.â She said laughing awkwardly. She felt so comfortable around Law, it made it easy to open up to him about things. Hearing his comment about the game she laughed. âWell we will see how I do.â She told him as she started throwing darts and not missing any of the balloons. She won a prize and was able to pick whatever one she wanted; Makoto picked the black cat plushie and she smiled holding it close to her.
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 13
âYeah, you can say that,â Law replied. Heâd bring up his tragic backstory, but that could wait for another time, not wanting to bring down the mood with the festivities and all.
âI see, I was always under the impression that you were born in Konoha like the others,â he admitted, so in a way she was also an outsider that made Konoha her home. It reminded him that he should do the same, there was no breakthroughs to him going back to his world since he got here.
âIâm the sole survivor of my hometown.â
Law wanted to relate to Makoto with that statement, but he kept that to himself, that can wait for another time.
âItâs fine, I donât mind knowing more about you that way,â he reassured her, it just made it easier for him to tell her his past later without much hassle, because she opened up to him first.
âWhy am Iâm not surprised,â he said flatly at her perfect aim. At least she got a prize out of it, and so they went looking for another game, and a certain one caught his eye. It was a giant âOperation Gameâ on a clown, he might as well win something too.
Law soon won a white polar bear plushie wearing something like Narutoâs orange jacket, which reminded him of Bepo. It was like this world too also wouldnât let him be happy or content for a day.
âHere, you can take this one too,â he said as he gifted it to Makoto.
Hearing him reassure her made her feel better about rambling about herself. It took Makoto a long time to open up to anyone, because besides her parents she didn't have anyone growing up. Moving to Konoha was the best choice for her life and she would forever be grateful to it.

Makoto still didnât know a lot about Law, but she hoped to get to know him better. From what she knew he was a pirate, a doctor and not from this world. To her it felt like he had a sadness inside of him that she knew nothing about. She continued eating her food, enjoying their time together.
After a little while at the restaurant, they paid and headed out back into the town. She was excited to see the festival, she never really had been to any in her life except with Konoha had some the last few years since she had started to live there.
âDid you ever go to any festivals as a kid Law? I never did.â She told him looking around at all the different things going on. There were some games going on and she wanted to try one. âIâd like to try this one.â She told him. It was one of those games with the balloons and you had to use darts to try to hit them. Makoto had pretty good aim so this was going to be a piece of cake for her.
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 12
âNo, I didnât see the appeal to them when I was a kid,â Law answered about going to festivals as a child. âMy family ran the local hospital, so I had to help up due to the extra surge of patients because of the festivities, people being reckless with drinking and what not.â
It was rare that Law opened up by his past life, be he didnât shy away from mentioning anything when it was relevant to the conversation, like it was this time. âWhat about you? You seem like the type to enjoy them,â he asked her in return, honestly in contrast, he knew little about Makotoâs past before she lived in Konoha.
âReally? I almost feel sorry for the game,â Law commented on the game she chose, using darts to hit balloon targets, she was a kunoichi after all. âI guess weâll see how you do for sport outside of battle.â
Makoto listened closely to him, hearing about his childhood. "Oh wow, you must have been pretty busy as a kid helping them out. I bet they really appreciated it." She said giving him a small smile.
Hearing him ask her about her enjoyment in festivals. "Honestly, I didn't do too much as a kid. My village I grew up in was cruel because of my looks so my parents kept me inside a lot. Makoto smiled, seeing how Law was being considerate of her. She knew he wasnât one to really go and check things out, but the fact he was willing to do it if she wanted too was very kind. âSure!~ We can for a little while at least and then we can head to the inn.â She knew there was a festival going on, so she would like to see what was happening.
It wasnât long before the food arrived. She dug in, excited to eat she was starved. âYeah! Itâs great.â She said giggling as she took a drink of sake as well. Looking around the restaurant, she seen everyone together laughing and seemed to be having a good time. She nodded at Law. âThey are, but itâs nice. Itâs always good to see people having a good time together.â
// Merchant Escort Mission [Law x Makoto] - Part 11
Usually Law couldnât care less about people outside his crew, but he had long accepted the fact that he may never see them again, at best it would take some more time. Something about Naruto and Sasuke reverse creating what sent Law through in the first place, and hoping by some miracle not too much time has passed.
âGood,â he replied. Despite being on alert, he gave Makoto the courtesy of at least trying to enjoy his food so she wouldnât worry about him too much. The sake helped eased him into things more, though of course he would never let his guard down completely, even with knowing Makoto would have his back at worst.
âYeah, itâs nice,â Law admitted. He envied the carefree at times, it reminded him of Corozon, so happy go lucky at times despite having Doflamingo for a brother while working undercover to expose him. It made him wonder what he was living for exactly, so he could be happy like that one day with the locals? It was a ridiculous thought, life would never make it that easy for him.
âCome on, letâs go, Makoto,â he spoke once they were done eating and drinking. Law did promise to at least walk around to explore the festival, as long as he was not dragged into anything and stayed a spectator. It was a little noisy for his comfort, but he endured through worse with the Straw Hat crew. âIgnorance is bliss to these people, but I suppose thatâs not a bad thing.â
He commented on the happy locals, refencing on the hidden darkness of his world, and this world of shinobi. The fact that they were on a mission to escort the merchant here with the fear of bandits, no one was really safe on their own, unless they had some battle power or ability on their side.
Makoto still didn't know a lot about Law, but she hoped to get to know him better. From what she knew he was a pirate, a doctor and not from this world. To her it felt like he had a sadness inside of him that she knew nothing about. She continued eating her food, enjoying their time together.
