Sorry I have to complain here because I am trying not to be a reply guy on twitter but the reason I say this Dynamic Duo plot is propping up Dick is because it applies the hardships that mainline Jason faced to Dick and then says that when it happens to Dick, he just does it better. Lasting negative consequences? That's for Jason.

Obviously Dick (and Bruce) have their own traumas, but Jason's story and the consequences of it are distinct from them. Carelessly giving his story to another character with the intention of demonstrating their heroism while Jason "succumbs to villainy" is gross.
