I’m not sure who was on for the Jeweler or the Innkeeper’s Wife.
Notes: Program pictures included in file. This is the first audio I’ve ever recorded, and it was not recorded with the intention of ever sharing it. That being said, you will hear me laughing, cheering, and possibly crying (....crying specifically during All I Ask of You). I also had a friend with me, so you will hear her whisper to me on occasion. The sound quality is pretty good, though. This was recorded from the third row and there are a couple nice details you can catch if you’re listening closely. I am sharing this for all the Jeremy Stolle stans because he was being such a menace in the best way during this performance. It’s also just such a fun trio, I was beyond delighted to have caught them. Though it haunts my dreams that Jordan Donica’s last show would have been with Jeremy Stolle had his run not ended early.
Let me know if either of the links aren’t working! Enjoy :)
@marleneoftheopera @nerdywriter36 you guys asked for this so here you go!
The Phantom of the Opera: I was born with facial deformities that are so horrific that even my own mother couldn't bear to look at me.
Me: So that's why you have to live as an outcast in the basements of the opera house?
The Phantom, who has been an admired performer, palace architect, royal executioner, and chief contractor of the opera house who is able to go out in public with no alteration to his face except a false nose and mustache: No, that's a separate choice that I've made.
Is there any way you can gif Sean Thompson's Raoul? Specifically the two parts in Devil Takes the Hindmost where he raises his hand (to the level of his eyes XD) when the Phantom makes a move at him?
Turns out that Jordan Donica was cast as the Phantom in London last year! He decided to stay to film for The Gilded Age, and also ended up having a run in Sunset Boulevard.
feeling nostalgic for my new york trip in august 2022 where i saw phantom twice (and multiple other shows)
but it got me thinking about how john riddle took a leave of absence to do titanique, so they got jordan donica to vacation cover but then he was injured during the show and then, in classic phantom marketing style, they never announced jordan had left and just rotated the raoul understudies for a bit. but because they didn't cast someone permanent, they just straight up unpersoned the character of raoul and if you checked the website or posters, no one was listed. the vicomte de no-longer-appearing-in-this-show
around this time bradley dean also mysteriously disappeared from the cast, never to return. and of course, we have to remember later on, when ben crawford missed the last three or so weeks of the broadway production and there was no official comment or announcement that he would most likely not return until literally the day before the last show.
