I feel like anyone who calls the dialogue in kojima games "contrived" or any variation thereof is simultaneously missing the point and denying themselves the fun of watching an extremely long game-movie, but also, the man literally just tweets like this

Why does staff still allow people funnier than you to leave tags on your posts. They should have fixed that by now
me when i recommend something to someone and they end up not liking it
no offense but you guys need to learn the difference between someone implying their experience is universal and a post simply just not being about you
Show me where I've made this mistake. Cite a specific time when I misinterpreted a post in this manner.
nothing in the new fallout show will ever have the raw cinematic power of this bit

Something about the mental image of Doomguy, a hulking force of nature being stuck in a house and going deeper and deeper in and uncovering memories, traumas, and even little inside jokes that are all devoid of context but are still inexplicably and lovingly tied to the house. Doomguy having to fight monsters but unable to fully comprehend the love and pain tied to this House that warps reality more than any demon he’s ever fought could comprehend. He needs to go through and every step goes deeper in the House becomes more and more inexplicable. The idea that Doomguy, a man who literally conquered hell, will struggle against a House that is haunted and grieving for the love that was once there.

Whoever conceived and animated this moment, I hope they're doing well and thriving. This is S-rank romance stuff here.

Oh, this? This is the 2000 masterpiece Titan A.E., the master animator Don Bluth's bold venture into the world of Science Fiction. Boasting script treatments by the increasingly-famous Joss Whedon and the voice talents of Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Bill Pullman, and Nathan Lane (among others), it was also one of the first ventures of a fresh new sub-studio at Fox called Blue Sky Studios!
It boasted a terrifying premise of a future where alien invaders not only overwhelmed, but physically destroyed the entire Planet Earth--dramatically depicted in a trailer that ran before every single screening of 1999's Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Boldly fusing 2D animation with 3D ships, environments, aliens, and camerawork, it was a tremendous fresh step in the world of animated cinema. Creed's "Higher" was the theme song for the trailers and TV spots.
It made negative seventy million dollars at the box office, bankrupted Fox Animation, and killed animated films forever
