perhaps the reason to keep on was hidden within the blades of grass between my toes as i ground myself in the yard, or painted across the soil by the sun peeking through the canopy of leaves overhead.
perhaps the birds weaved the reason into their songs, a beautiful cacophony that only they truly know.
perhaps the reason is etched into my body, within each mark left behind by my stretched skin and acne scars.
perhaps the secrets lie within the penny glinting in the afternoon sun as i cross the road, weaving through the sea of strangers within their fishbowl vehicles.
perhaps the reason to keep going was hidden in plain sight all along, moving at a frequency that i simply had to slow to match.
perhaps i see it now, the fleeting feeling of enlightenment that strikes when you ease up enough for it to finally catch you.
perhaps now i simply must hold on.
