Fact-checking some of the gun lobby’s favorite arguments shows they’re full of holes.

The third bullet point made me feel physically sick.

Myth #5: Keeping a gun at home makes you safer. Fact-check: Owning a gun has been linked to higher risks of homicide, suicide, and accidental death by gun. • For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 assaults or murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home. • 43% of homes with guns and kids have at least one unlocked firearm. • In one experiment, one third of 8-to-12-year-old boys who found a handgun pulled the trigger.

Gun violence and death is an epidemic in this country and I’m terrified. If you want to be part of a grassroots movement that is creating change and saving lives then you should check out Moms Demand Action. (You don’t have to be a mom to join.)

PSA: Jeans Edition

Let me preface this by saying that I do not normally get down with dropping this kind of cash  on a single article of clothing anything. However,  these jeans might be worth it. 

They are super soft, a little stretchy, and, most importantly to me, high waisted. (So they are prefect for tucking in my OMG POST BABY BAHHHHHHDY.) I felt good when I tried them on. In fact, I didn’t want to take them off and put back on my comfy, broken in jeans.

We all know that the universal experience of shopping for jeans = shedding at least one tear in the dressing room  so this was a very welcome change. 

Oh, and they’re made in Los Angeles. There’s my fix for the day.

Long story short: If you’re in the market for a new pair of expensive jeans then you should drop by your local J Crew and try on the Point Sur Hightower skinny jeans.
