I feel like the Fentons are bad parents trope are really missing out on the Lancer is actually a terrible teacher trope. Sure, he had his good teacher moments (just like the Fentons had their good parent moments), but he also enabled all the bullies and clearly favored the A-listers over all the other students. The dude's basically never matured past the high school popularity mentality.

Don't get me wrong, I love the stories where he's the one concerned for Danny and tries to get him help, but more than likely he'd be the teacher who sees the troubled student and gets their parents involved, only to make the situation worse because the parents are the ones making the student act out in the first place.

I'm going to say one good thing and one good thing only about the AI search results on search engines now, and it has nothing to do with the results themselves, but rather the fact that the AI will show links to the sources it cites. And when it comes to medical related questions, often these sources are academic papers. So what this let's me do is Google a very specific question, bypass the actual AI summary, and instead very quickly find a medical journal article that addresses my very specific question. And since I am literate in science, these papers are very readable to me.

Whereas the old Google search engine only ever pulled up WebMD to tell me I'm dying. I will admit- this is an improvement. Just not in the way these AI developers would have intended.

Hawaiʻi is currently in the midst of a natural disaster if you didnt know

Apparently there isn’t much news coverage of this outside of the islands

Towns are flooded, homes destroyed and collapsed, roads collapsed, lives at risk, gas leaks from the flood damage

Haleiwa and Waialua are currently evacuated because the 120 year old dam is at risk of bursting

Mind you that damn is owned by Dole. Theyve known about it needing to be fixed for years and years and years. Despite having more than enough money they refuse

The state has been trying to buy it out from them for years so they can fix it, but the sale hasn’t gone through
