“really?” she was more SHOCKED than anything. then again, midoriya was a kind person, he wasn’t the type to mock her for such interests. “then, which one do you think was your FAVORITE?” her voice was that of a whisper as she asked. momo had never publicly talked about her little secret like this, but she had to admit that midoriya was someone she felt would keep her secret SAFE. “if you’d like, i could teach you a little about them.”

izuku was glad momo felt secure enough with him to talk about something she seemed to be so insecure about. if anything, izuku was glad to talk about it with her! he was genuinely interested in it, and besides, he was more than aware of how it feels to be alone, and izuku certainly didn’t want her to feel like that. “i think i like the one with the black hair... or maybe the one who dances in the middle...” he grins at momo and tilts his head. “that’d be really nice if you could, yaoyorozu-san!

            Everything seemed FINE. It was just a measly game of volleyball, nothing too out of the ORDINARY. Her friends seemed to be going all out as USUAL, so she didn’t mind the constant shouting and the possibility of her getting HIT by one of the volleyballs. It wasn’t until halfway through the game where the volleyball was spiked too FAR. Following the direction of where the ball had been spiked to, Hisae ran after it, only to see it hovering above a boy’s head. 

            ❝Hey, snap out of it!❞ She screamed, running faster so she could at least stop the ball before it HIT him in the head. Once she got CLOSER to the boy, the ball STOPPED in the air, a few centimeters away from his head. Just in time she was able to stop the volleyball with her quirk, thank goodness.

izuku, who have survived villains, the entrance exam, breaking nearly all his limbs, for the life of him, couldn’t react fast enough to avoid the volleyball hitting him on his head. luckily though, (or strangely enough...?) the ball stopped several centimeters above his head, saving him from probably a sore spot on his head. izuku stared at the ball, wondering if the girl who had screamed at him to watch out had something to do with the ball floating midair.

“erm, thanks. the ball -- that was you, right? stopping it in midair, i mean. you really saved me there!” he gives the girl a small smile, tilting his head slightly.

it was evening and most clubs had ended for the day. izuku had just finished the class diary for the day (a lot had happened and izuku liked to be thorough) and was currently heading out of the school building. his eyes shifted towards the field though, where they originally had their ‘field day’ on their first day of class. a few balls still laid scattered on the grass, and izuku picked one up. he rolled it around in his hand as he stared thoughtfully at the field.

“...things are a lot different now, huh. mm, did i change at all, i wonder.” surely he did, right?
