I recently watched the last episode of Takopi’s Original Sin, and there’s something deeply real about it. In a particular scene, the girl suggests stealing a ring. We don’t know why she doesn’t realize that it’s wrong, but there’s an innocence in both of the children. In real life, this happens when parents fail to instill good values in their children and don’t teach them to think for themselves instead of just following what others say. Some children might be very aware and independent, but others need guidance—and adults should provide that. It’s very easy to lead children into doing bad things, and that’s exactly what happens in the anime.
