Marketing evaluation
Eval: 1-What was your item of publicity? Twitter 2-Give your ticket sale information and discuss which performances were more popular than others and possible reasons why.77 for Thursday night, 54 for the matinee on Friday and 99 on Friday evening. The Friday night is the most popular, I'm guessing this is because it the end of the week and people have finished work and everyone's home from school by this time. Other than the matinee which people might not be as available for. 3- Compare the data from both productions and give reasoning for the outcome. Could it be the differences in marketing strategy or is it the production target audience? Im not 100% sure on how rent marketed there show and how the ticket sales are going for them but Both the productions are completely different, so depending on what people's interests are but also the price of the tickets and the nights they are on. We had similar marketing strategies to get the word out and even worked together on bag packing helping each other and also raising money for rents charity. 4- What elements of your strategy worked well. Explain fully and give reasoning as to why Me and Lauren hosted a coffee morning and made £50 to put towards the play, which really helped get the word out and we definitely made a few more ticket sales, this was a really helpful idea. We also did a flash mob and gave out flyers in town which also was a good strategy, so our main marketing strategy was flyers and that's mainly how we got our ticket sales. 5- What went less well? Give full reasoning and description I feel like the Twitter and Instagram aren't that popular, they still got people's attention but I don't think they helped with ticket sales at all, it was difficult to find the people who would have been interested to follow but also live close by and can get to the venue. 6-Give ways in which you would improve or change your strategy Ensure that you use correct data and explain everything within the evaluation. Try and think outside the box, don’t just give straight forward answers. If we could do it again, I think we could have hosted the coffee morning earlier on as it was really popular and do a few more of them, we could have done some flash mobs earlier on too rather than last minute. I say we still should use flyers as our main strategy as these work so well and had the correct information on which was simple to read which made it quicker for people to just skim through.
We have done a coffee morning to promote our show some more and raise money :)
Contingency
What? Coffee morning - could do a deal of a slice of cake and a cup of tea/coffee for £2.00. Could have a donation pot at the door where people can leave a donation if they want to.
Where ? we could use a room up at west studios but would it cost us to use the room? Or were going to ask about see if there’s any rooms that are free that we could use to make cosy.
Equipment: We could make it really cosy with chairs & sofas from the green room and put blankets over them. We can buy tea and coffee from b&m bargains and get the hot water from the refectory , ask if the refectory if they could donate any tea bags towards it. We can get little cakes from sainsburys for £1 each, but also see if the refectory are getting rid of any cakes or buns ect.
How many people ? Me and Lauren will run it and we will want as many people to take part as possible.
Our budget will be : £10
One man two guvnors bio
Demi is really enjoying her role in one man two guvnors , she love’s the acting style as this is what she’s most comfortable with. She has enjoyed her time at Chesterfield college and has grown with others and built up her skills up along the way. @amberpaoloni
Marketing
Screen shot of our Twitter, we have posted a video of some stunts and just some promotion on our play.
Demi and Lauren - What are the key selling points of the event?
The play, “One Man Two Guv'nors”, has received many encouraging reviews, including celebrities such as Myleene Klass and Gok Wan. This particular comedy is essentially an updated version of a comedia dell'Arte using the same stock characters.
The character Rachel, and her dead twin brother Roscoe, are characters loosely set on the Kray twins, Ronnie and Reggie, English gangsters who were at the forefront of organised crime in the 50s and 60s. This relates a little to our play as the kray twins were also nightclub owners and in our play the character Rachel owns a nightclub. The kray twins were also gangsters just like Rachel and Stanley, this might help the audience understand whats going on as they can relate our characters with the kray twins, while making some serious characters into comical characters.
“One Man Two Guv'nors”, has been performed on the west end, meaning that those who choose to see our production will be able to watch the same entertainment for just a fraction of the original price, not to mention the fact that by just coming to see our performance, you will be supporting the local chesterfield college and encouraging new talent to grow. “One Man Two Guv'nors” I s a play that incorporates both slapstick and tongue in cheek humour, which is becoming less common in modern productions.

My marketing strategy
Me and jess have the responsibility of looking after and running the twitter account.
Jess set the twitter account up on the 25th of April; we already have a few posts up which I will post screen shots of. We post about promoting our show and sharing links of our other social media accounts but also information about the venue and time, links for the tickets and the prices.
I will write a post every Tuesday after/ during rehearsing just to update about what we have done during rehearsal or just some pictures/videos and one week I will post promoting the show also with the information. Tuesday is a good day for us as I can get a few pictures while people are rehearsing just so people can see what we are doing and how it’s coming along. Also by change what we post each Tuesday it will keep people interested instead of them getting bored of always seeing our promotions.
Our target audience is from the age of about 13 up as anyone under wouldn’t understand the humour, as for this social media is a good way to market towards them as a lot of young people have social media but also a few elderly people also have a lot of social media. At the start of each week we will be updating our director to inform her on what we have been posting to make sure it’s acceptable. We will keep this going until the week of our performance.

What Marketing technique will I be responsible for?
Demi and myself are responsible for the Twitter account. I have discussed with everyone in the group and we have all arranged on what we want to market and advertised.
I've already set this Twitter account up, I set it up on the 25th April. I want to put updates on this account like rehearsal photos, information about the venue and the show, ticket links and prices etc. And I will be updating this account every Tuesday and Friday.
Tuesday is a good day because we have a full day of rehearsals, it's good to get sneaky photos and videos of rehearsals and the fun we have doing the rehearsals.
The reason we picked Saturday is because it means we can upload fun things to keep the audience interested instead of constant selling.
Our target audience are teenagers/young adults (13 - 20). At the start of the week we will inform our director of what we have been posting over the week. We are going to start these regular uploads on the 10th May.
One Man Two Guvonrs - Promotional Video
marketing strategy: why has our group chosen to these marketing techniques and materials?
Why Use Posters? we’ll be using posters as they are an extremely effective marketing method. One poster can be seen by many people, and if people are seeing posters around chesterfield daily, it will remain in their heads and they won’t forget about it. they are also bright, intriguing and easy to read, with all the required information laid out in an easy to understand manner.
Why Use Social Media? Social media is once again an easy way to reach hundreds of people. Updates can be sent out to the public instantly, and video’s and photo’s of rehearsals will help to draw audiences in. Our target audience includes secondary school children, and teenagers most of which use social sites like Facebook, twitter and YouTube. Not only is this modern and far reaching but it’s also cost effective as it’s completely free.
Why Do Flash Mobs? Flash mobs are a great way of connecting directly to potential audiences. displaying some of the characters will help show what the plays about, and draw much wanted attention. they are intriguing , funny, and encourage people to take flyers. this will also incorporate going round in character, and interacting with members of the public, improvising with each other and handing out flyers at the same time, which will have much the same effect.
What’s Useful About A Radio Advert? The radio advert will once again reach a great many people instantly. Because their will already be hundreds of people listening, we are guaranteed they will here about our show. if ambers sister agrees, it will most likely, once again be completely free.
Why Use Word Of Mouth? word of mouth is a simple and easy way to raise our performances profile. Mentioning it in passing it in passing conversation, and asking friends and family to tell their friends will spread the word around quickly, and with how many people are working on our performance, that will be a lot of people to hear about it. also friends and family are some of the most likely people to come and see the performance, and once again, word of mouth is completely free.
Why A Newspaper Advert? it’s quite easy to get an advert into local papers, and s a simple bright, attractive advert with the vital information (show dates/times and ticket prices) it will be easy to read and reach the hundreds of people who already read the newspaper.
What’s So Effective About Flyers? Flyers are something we can all easily carry round in our bags, and hand out to whoever we want. once again with all the information pact onto a small piece of bright paper they won’t take much to read through. They’ll be really useful to hand out during flash-mobs too, as flash-mobs will increase our chance of people excepting flyers and reading them. they aren’t targeted marketing, but they’ll be worth the price of them for the money they make.
Why invite Schools? inviting schools allows us to reach large groups of children with little effort, and could potentially increase audience numbers considerably. it doesn’t take long and is an incredibly efficient use of our time. secondary schools are a large part of out target audience too, and there isn’t a much better way of reaching them than through their school.
What’s The Use of Cheaper Ticket Prices and Concessions? although having cheaper tickets will bring in less money per ticket, it will mean our product is much more sellable, and many more people are likely to be able to afford a ticket. in puts us in strong competition wi.th other shows too, as where as our ticket price will be £8, other shows average at about £20 we’ll also be offering concession; student tickets will cost £7, which should help draw in our target audience.
How will you approach your role/job to make sure your Marketing is inventive and captures the attention of the Target Audience?
make deadlines for material completion -e.g. finish flyers and send of for printing by 10th of may Take inspiration from our research and put it into our own marketing - e.g. posters -attractive, bright, colours, layout etc Having decided what our Target audience is, and what the selling points of them are, focus on them in you’re task role -e.g. flash mobs -comedy Consider when and where is best to release marketing technique to maximize it’s effect -e.g the end of the begining/end of them month when people get paid use selected slogans/brands on marketing materials -e.g. “the best show on the planet” be creative in you approach: try new methods, clever layouts, something eye-catching.
