POV! You’re new to the team so Tony hosts a party where Bucky sees you for the first time…
“It’s going to be a pleasure working with you”, Tony said as he shook my hand. “The pleasure is all mine Mr. Stark”, I said back as I smiled and gathered my coat and purse off of the floor and started heading towards the door. Just before I turned the handle, Tony made sure to remind me about the party he’ll be hosting later on tonight. “I can’t wait”, I said smiling back at him as I left and headed home to get ready.
As soon as I got home I rushed to take everything off and start getting ready for the party. I am so excited I can’t even describe it!! After years and months of working my ass off it’s finally getting paid off. I’ve worked in well known companies but to be working alongside the avengers is something that I can not compare. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling as I did my hair and makeup. Although I am very excited, I still can’t help but think about the many faces I will have to impress. I don’t want to be hidden in the back, I want to stand out and be known. With that being said I picked out one of my favourite dresses. It’s a short long-sleeve grey dress that’s covered in silver fabric glitter which makes it glisten when the light hits it.
The party was completely crowded, familiar faces I’ve seen online were scattered everywhere. So many people talking to each other, drinking and laughing together. I couldn’t help but start to feel out of place, like I shouldn’t have came at all. Trying to push those negative thoughts behind my head, I went looking for a drink or few to distract myself. And about 5 shots later I was definitely not regretting coming after all. I was having the time of my life and so was everyone else around me.
The crow around me started growing and became a bit overwhelming so I decided to step back for a bit. I was headed towards the balcony when I looked over at the most attractive person I’ve seen; beautiful smile, beautiful face-hair, everything. I think I was staring for too long because the face I couldn’t stop staring at looked up to stare right back at me. We stared at each other for what felt like minutes but realistically was about 2 seconds before I turned my head and started walking faster towards the sliding door.
The cold air hitting my burning facing felt almost relieving but my nervous shakes weren’t going away at all. I was in a room full of avengers and I managed but the second his eyes stared back I couldn’t handle it anymore what the hell is wrong with—
“Hey”. A voice said behind me. Startled, I jumped a bit and whipped my body around to see who was talking to me… holy shit.
He just chuckled, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you. I noticed you in there but you ran so fast I couldn’t catch up to you. I’m Bucky, what’s your name”? Bucky. Bucky Barnes. How could I have not recognized him. I can’t believe he’s actually talking to me, I’m trying my hardest not to freak out. “Y/N, it’s very nice to meet you Bucky”. I said as I stuck my hand out. He grabbed my hand so gentle and placed a kiss on it while never breaking eye contact. Fuck. “How are you enjoying yourself Y/N”? Bucky asked giving me that beautiful smile I can’t forget. “Oh I’m having an amazing time! It was getting a bit crowded so I just came out to get some fresh air. What about you”? With almost every word I spoke, Bucky would slowly keep walking closer to me. Close enough to where I can smell his cologne, he smelled so good. “Well quite honestly I was about minutes away from leaving, but you caught my attention. I’ve never seen you around”. I just explained how I just joined the team today.
We started talking for a couple minutes about everything and anything we had in mind. We started at the balcony talking about our likes and dislikes and somewhere in between, ended up in front of Tony’s bar talking about our most embarrassing moments. “That never happened you’re lying” I slurred out laughing as I took about my 10th shot of the night. “I swear! I was so confident until everyone just started laughing at me” Bucky said laughing while covering his face with his hands. I grabbed his hands and moved them away from his face, we just stared at each other smiling. “You’re so cute”, I blurred out without thinking. I did not just say that. I did not just call Bucky cute straight to his face. “I’m sorry I did—
I was cut off by Bucky holding my face gently in his hands and kissing me. Within a second I sobered up and pulled away. I looked at him in shock. “I’m so sorry Y/N I shouldn’t have done that. I just— I don’t know what it is but I have this feeling in my chest since the second I laid eyes on you. I know it was only about an hour ago but I’ve never felt this feeling before. But I won’t do it again I pro—“ I got my revenge by cutting him off and kissing him back. Went from kissing, to making out within seconds. We both pulled away to catch our breath, staring into each others eyes. “Let’s go back to my place”? Bucky said. I nodded as he took my hand and guided me out of Tony’s home.
What a perfect way to end a perfect day.
