Ava smiled gently as she leaned in and kissed him back. God, this felt so right. This was what she wanted. It was almost killing her that she had to hide her true feelings. “Yeah? How badly have you missed me?” she teased, brushing her nose against his.

Dennis smiled against her lips, he never loved someone the way that he loved Ava. Hell he never wanted to be with someone the way he wanted her. It was hard to hide how he felt and he hated that he had to do so. “Yeah, I’ve missed you so badly.” He connected their lips again, kissing her deeply.

Ava knew she needed to have a talk with Fritz. She needed to tell him that she appreciated everything he had done but that she wanted to move on because quite frankly, she didn’t love him. Not like Dennis. But no matter how much she tried to think about it, she couldn’t find a good way to bring it up without destroying not just her life, but Dennis’ as well. God, maybe it would just be better if they ran away together. Maybe then they could stop hiding. Once she saw Dennis head upstairs, she politely excused herself and followed after him. Obviously he knew she had followed - why wouldn’t she? Smiling, she walked up to him and crawled into bed next to him. “I’ve missed you,” she muttered as she curled into him.

This was getting harder every day it seemed like because honestly he did want to wake up to Ava by his side. So maybe they should tell his father. Honestly Dennis was in love with her and he couldn’t keep denying that nor did he want to. At this point he didn’t care if he lost his father or not. All he knew was that he wanted to be with her and seeing her with him was killing him. Even if he didn’t admit it right now. When she crawled into the bed and next to him, his arms went around her. “I’ve missed you too.” He told her softly, before leaning in to kiss her lips gently.

“Are you having fun?” Henley had thrown a belated New Year’s party down by the river, wanting to be distracted by being around other people.

“Oh yeah, completely. What about you?” Dennis questioned, taking a drink out of the cup he had been holding.

After spending the morning with Kane, Dennis decided to go to his father’s. If anything just to see Ava but it’s not like he could just come out and say that. This was a mess but he wasn’t about to just walk away from his relationship with Ava. She meant far too much to him. Hell he couldn’t deny that he was in love with her. The arrangement just sucked. It really did. But yet here he was playing just Fritz son and nothing else. Once his father started dinner, he headed up to his old room just to take a moment. Laying down onto the bed, he looked up at the ceiling for a moment, that was when he heard the door and he sat up. “Hey.” He smiled a little bit. “Come here.”

Ava loved the festival every year. The rides, the shops, the joy that it seemed to bring this miserable, scandalous town every year. I seemed like a break from all the crazy, if only for a moment. She was looking at some of the crafts someone was selling when someone seemed to come up behind her and whisper in her ear. Of course a smile drew across her face as she recognized it as Dennis. “How could I say no?” she asked, turning and giving him a pleasant smile. She knew they had to be careful when they were out, but it was almost painful to not lean up and kiss him.

The festival was fun he couldn’t deny that. The rides, the games and just all of it was fun. When he seen her, he moved up behind her. Trying his best to keep his distance. He had to make this look as innocent as possible. Even if all he wanted to do was kiss her. “Good. I’m glad that you can’t.” He was doing his best to make it look like they were just hanging out. Smiling over at her for a moment. “What do you want to do first?”

Dennis was making his way through the carnival. He had nothing better to do actually plus he didn’t have to work either. Mark had given him the day off. So he planned on having a good time, enjoy the rides, the games and the food. That was when he seen her, making his way over to her. He smiled. “Come and spend the day with me, love?” He questioned, softly in her ear. Hoping no one would notice how close he was to her.
