Derek had woken up later than he was supposed to, but that was okay. Today was their day off and a little bit of extra sleep would go a long way for the man. He was always working himself too hard and getting away from it all for 24 hours was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Walking down to the kitchen to get some coffee, he found Penelope already there. Walking up to her and kissing her forehead, he poured his coffee and then turned to her. "Hey, baby girl. How are you on this fine morning?" he asked, happiness lacing his every word.
