Today having a chilled Sunday with an Strawberry-Rhubarb Gin Tonic. Hopefully the Alchemist is back again. Today we'll have Monday, so it's Margarita Monday. Yesterday I watched a vid of @therock cocktails and guess what Margaritas en masse. Inspired by the vid I decided to have some gorgeous Melon Margaritas in the 🌞 A big slice of Watermelon Lime juice of a half lime 4 cl @puschkinvodka watermelon vodka 2 cl three-sixty vodka 3 cl @giffard_liqueurs_syrups triple sec 2 cl @melonade_aperitif 2 cl lemon squash Planty of ice Salt for garnish For the rim, round the rim with a lime slice and put it into salt. Muddle the watermelon slice in a shaker, add limejuice and the other ingredients, add the ice and shake it about 30 seconds. After a long way home and an odyssey in cologne I need something strong tonight. So here is another alcohol with alcohol mixing session. I wanted to try something new and so have a classical Vesper a special twist by using a Wheat Pale Ale instead of Lillet. The pale has a great richness of flavors and add some freshness into the Vesper while adding bitter notes. For the alcoholic part I use @ferdinandsgin ,a German Dry Gin which is infused by Riesling. It's a perfect match to the Black Forest white Riesling Vermouth. 4cl Ferdinand's Dry Gin 4cl white Riesling Vermouth Wheat Pale Ale to fill up Mix Gin and Vermouth with plenty of ice in a mixing glass, and stir well. Strain that mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Fill it up with the Pale. Tonight I have a Gin and Tonic. The perfect serve of a G&T is a great combination of Gin, Tonic and some garnish, which boosters the flavor of the bontanicals. Every ingredient is important. A good Gin, a gorgeous tonic and good garnish. Tonight I am trying a different tonic. Usually tonic gets its bigger flavor from cichona bark, which contains of quinine. @zestupbeverages orange peel tonic contains of orange peel, sugar and some other ingredients. It's kind of bitter lemon but without the quinine. Light bitterness, a gorgeous orange flavor with sweet and sour notes. 6 cl @ginlarbre Zest up orange peel tonic to fill Orange wheels and Mint branch for garnish L'arbre Gin is a 41%vol.alc.(82proof) Spanish dry Gin from Tarragona, Spain. Mediterranean botanicals are used for that Gin for example Basil, Rosemary, Juniper, Lavender, Coriander and Lemon. The taste is mild and aromatic. By nose we get the Juniper, Lemon and some floral, herbal notes. The weather is stormy again and I used to have a strong drink tonight. Mojito meets G&T 4cl @kalevalagin navy strength Gin 4cl white Riesling Vermouth @granini_de @dielimo Mint-Lemon Stir Gin and Vermouth with plenty of ice in a Trumbler and fill it up with the lemonade. The Gin is a 50.9% vol.alc (102 proof) Gin from Kitee, Finland. Jerusalem Artichokes, black currant leafs and juniper give a nice fresh and sweet character. Back to the roots. Today I will have a Gin&Tonic again. Red pepper, raspberries in raspberry gin marinated, dehydrated lemon-wheels and a branch of mint I combined with @andtonicseattle tonic syrup and the gorgeous Bro's Gun Gin. It's a 40% vol.alc. (80proof) German dry Gin, made in Tübingen, Germany by @schwarzstoffcom The botanicals, which are use for are lime, juniper of course, coriander, anis,red pepper, ginger and some raspberries. By nose you will smell some fresh lemon or lime notes, a floral character, juniper and anis. By tasting it you get those lime notes and spices and a light ginger boost at the end. Roses are red, Chardonnay is dry Sake to add, happy Valentine 😁 Ok I confess the rhyme bumps 🙈 I should better stay tasting. Especially for Valentine's day I found that little treasure while shopping. @sandarauniverse Chardonnay & Sake. It's a sparkling wine with 8%vol.alc. made in Spain. By nose you get a sweet sense, with a light floral, which you also get while tasting it. By tasting you also get the light acidity and citrus note. All in all it's a nice and special experience to have and also a good base for some floral spring cocktails. To get started for #prowein this year, I recap some experiences.

One of those is Western Son Vodka from Pilot Point in Texas, US.

Beside all kinds of flavored Vodkas I was impressed by the Pioneering Texas Gin. It's a 40%vol. alc (80 proof) him, which is destilled from corn.

By the nose you get a boost of freshness, which comes from a dominant cucumber smell which gives a mix of sweet and sour mashup with citrus notes and the typical juniper flavor.

By tasting the gin the character changes a little. You get less of the cucumber but more of the citrus flavor, which comes from Grapefruit, Orange peel and Tangerine. You can also get some herbal notes and as a light flavor at the end you taste cucumber.

Amazing is the change of character by aging. It gets more wooden flavor, the citrus is more dominating and there will be a roasted caramel taste, too

Just a mocktail for lunch. Grean Tea Passion

150 ml fresh Green Tea flavored with Coconut and Passionfruit

1 or 2 tbls. Simple Syrup

juice of a Blood Orange

a branch of Mint

Ginger Beer to fill up

some dashes of Kewra water

Brew the Green Tea with the mint branch and let it rest for about 5 minutes. The flavored Green Tea has a gorgeous tropical taste for itself. Add the syrup, I used a simple syrup flavored with citrus notes and quinine, to add a decent bitter note. Juice of a blood orange and Ginger Beer to fill gets freshness to the mocktail. To finish I added some dashes of Kewra flower water for a floral note.

Garnished the Mocktail with a Tangerine wheel
