Whenever you drop the trans in trans man you are relying on trans men's extreme levels of erasure, wherein most people do not consider trans men when thinking of the 'man' category to appeal to simplifications that further erase their experience.
Most feminists would agree with:
'if men experienced periods there'd be mandatory education on it' 'no one would ever do this to MEN's genitalia (when talking about FGM' 'if men had to give birth it would be considered equal in sacrifice to war'
Because, the category of trans man is so incredibly erased from people's heads that they dont even register when making these statements. A lot of transphobes (specifically the tmen hating kind) use this against trans men by dropping the trans in 'trans men': 'We've already established in basic feminism that trans men dont have to' 'You want us to consider that trans men might experience misogyny in ways other groups dont?!?' 'Everyone knows the healthcare industry revolves around trans men why would you say that phalloplasty having three times the complication rate of vaginoplasty might be to do with misogyny?!?'
They operate on the basis of plausible deniability, because if you call them out on it they can just say 'but trans men are men. are you denying that?' Most of them know well what they are doing.
