I think that, the ENTJ is largely mistaken for a person who has their shit together. And imo, this is the largest reason for the vast mis-typings I see. If I see a dom-Te user my first guess will always be an ESTJ first, ESTP or ENTJ second. The ENTJ is quite off-the-wall, often making up answers to questions and problems that are completely off-base. They disguise their insecurities with lies, a carefully put together self-image, and sheer willpower. They can be extremely moody, especially when alone or away from the people for whom they push their image, and their abnormal competitiveness means that they are often going to explode in bouts of rage when thing do not go their way. They can be goofy, unorganized, slackers even because they are intuitive and I believe that the notion of them being the “high school achiever” is not wrong. It’s just that for every captain of football, chess team and class president ENTJ there is another one who slacks off, procrastinates on his work, argues with everyone, has alcoholism issues, and has a good sense of humor. ENTJ have the largest range of personality of any extroverted thinker. The ENTJ usually understands reality exactly as it is, but then follows their Ni over their Se which causes existential melancholy when they don’t live according to what they know they need to do in order to be happy. Of course, the non-square ENTJ are basically looked at as ENTP 8w7 or some other ridiculous mistyping. If there is one stereotyped characteristic however that all ENTJ DO posses, it’s the ability to lead.
ENTJ: The delusional, obsessive tryhard. The blackhole of sentiment and the post-apocalyptic roach via /r/mbti (via mbtimusings)
hot take: 8s aren't actually any angrier than other gut cores or even fixes -- they just don't repress their anger at all. Even 8w9 based resistance isn't necessarily repression, they're resisting the act of reacting.
hot take #2: 8w7s give 8s their hyper-reactive reputation, since w7 has head based jitters/neuroses and fear of losing their freedom. This head influence also makes them more likely to react preemptively to a threat, or even to get angry recreationally (w7 entertainment value). 8w9s, however, tend to be "rocks", unwilling to move, or to give into what someone wants -- their reaction to their own reactivity is to resist it so the other person "doesn't win". 8w9 tends to merge into the environment in some way and takes subtler forms of control, more like a blanket than w7-type hammer anger. w9 peacemaking, so to speak, and stopping others from reacting.
It's also worth remembering that even though 8s look much angrier than say, a 1, 8 anger in average health isn't necessarily that deep. Because of their reactive core nature, their relevant emotion rides close to the surface and is expressed without a lot of thought or real, deep merit to them (4s and 6s express negativity and fear a lot this way, too.) 1 based anger lasts longer and is harder to get rid of, because it typically runs deep, into your bones kind of anger, often built up through years of repression and denial. None of which is to say that any gut type is better than another -- they all just have different methods and 8s need more love and good information on how they function.
Examples of a Brocken Spectre, a phenomenon where a person’s giant shadow appears magnified onto clouds miles away. The shadow from the sun behind the person creates a halo, giving it an angelic appearance. This mostly occurs on any misty mountainsides or cloud banks, and can even be seen from aeroplanes.

“In films, we are voyeurs, but in novels, we have the experience of being someone else: knowing another person’s soul from the inside. No other art form does that. And this is why sometimes, when we put down a book, we find ourselves slightly altered as human beings. Novels change us from within.”
— Donna Tartt, in this 2013 interview by Laurie Grassi for Chatelaine (via boykeats)

The Motorcycle Diaries (2002), dir. Walter Salles
are you still getting your book published? i can't remember what it's called it's been so long, but i remember the story.
walking disasters! I’m currently working on re-writing it then it’s going to be sent to publishers again, upon which they can choose to take it on or not depending on their own tastes
the story is turning up completely different than the initial versions and it’s taking an immense part of my energy and soul to re-work it in the way i’ve envisioned in my mind for the past three years. it’s truly an exercise in patience and perseverance. i hope that if you get the chance to read the finished version you enjoy it even more! thankz ^-^
