I’m ngl I can’t wait till we see the dragonfly one xD
We already saw how Stoick reacted when Hiccup stepped off a cliff.
Stoick is definitely going to have a million heart attacks when he sees him just doing it over and over again for the fun of it xD
he can join Astrid in her suffering🙂↕️
"Toothless perches on a sea stack, and Hiccup slides to the rock beside him, staring at the chaos. As the two watch, the scene fades as an hour passes. The flames are mostly smoke now, only a few ships still burning. Almost every sail has been ripped down and dragged to the water, or has burned to nothing but the skeleton of rigging." - excerpt from Chapter 21 of run past the rivers, run past all the light by rosetta_46
This fic has gifted me so much happy chemical so expect a lot of fanart in the future. It's a "watching the movie" fic with incredible characterization, tasty canon divergences, and so many juicy bits of foreshadowing. Highly recommend consuming it whenever y'all are able.
Bonus little concept sketch below because I think the Toothless was perfect:
A Space Station Crosses a Busy Sun

stop. analyse that text through the lens of its author's intentions and original historical context. okay now take the author out back and kill them dead and analyse that text as though it were published by your mutual yesterday and is in direct conversation with the contemporary discourse that's most relevant to your life. okay now pick your favorite angle of interpretation and come up with the strongest possible argument against it. now imagine that the text is your best friend and that it means you well and that you naturally give it every benefit of the doubt because you're on its side and you want the best for it. now imagine that the text wants you dead and it'll eat you if you don't eat it first. now pretend that you found this text locked away in a cave with no evidence of when or where it came from and you have to divine its meaning solely through its internal coherence and nothing else. okay now address the elephant in the room aspect of the text you've been ignoring because you find it boring or confusing or uncomfortable and become the number one expert on it. now spend forty minutes assigning all the characters dnd classes with at least three sentences of reasoning each. okay now do the cha cha slide.
You can't lie, I know we all thought this
It’s good that they include that little button in the PDF to check for updates just in case Boltzmann’s brain spontaneously reconstitutes itself and decides to publish a corrigendum.
Started this in 2025, procrastinated, bon appetite
Do you know what colonizers do? They kill, rape, and kidnap to spread their territory, claiming lands as their own without regard for the people who live there.
The reason my skin is white in a Latin American country is because colonizers raped my ancestors and now, as a consequence, there was a mixing of races that to this day still have pyramids of power.
This white skin I have represents violence and oppression, but in the eyes of the world, it is beautiful and hegemonic, worthy of being seen and respected.
This white skin gives me privileges, because I look like my colonizers, and yet, because of my origin, people still won't see me as an equal, because they consider my blood to be stained with indigenous blood.
Do you know what colonizers don't do? They don't restore freedom in their colonies and listen to the people who live there, fulfilling their desire to continue living there since they have formed families.
Do you know what colonizers don't do? They don't rebel against the empire that benefits them to join a group against their own family to overthrow it.
Do you know what colonizers don't do? They don't establish cities where the victims of their Nation's actions can live in harmony and find refuge, nor do they spend 60 years governing to maintain that harmony, renouncing the throne of their own free will to give it to their daughter, A WOMAN, whom they raised especially to follow in their footsteps and continue the peace.
And especially, they don't reboot an entire education system to mold it in such a way that future generations understand that their nation did something horrible and that they should NOT follow in those footsteps, without mincing words, without censorship, just the truth.
And this last paragraph I wrote is so special to me because it's something my colonizers haven't done to this day, almost 200 years after my country declared independence. Because my colonizers believe they did nothing wrong and even deny it, saying their country was good and fair to mine, to the rest of the Latin American countries, and they believe colonization was a farce, even though there are still lingering effects from it in their minds, because they see us as inferior, poor, without culture or education; they think they did us a favor.
Something that doesn't happen in the Fire Nation after Zuko's rule, because he did such an EXCELLENT job that it only took him less than 60 years to compensate for those acts, and it is reflected in his people, because the citizens of the Fire Nation do not consider themselves superior, nor do they deny what was committed and they live in harmony with those who were once their subordinates.
Something my colonizers have not been able to achieve in 216 years.
i beat myself up for not knowing enough about my special interests a lot but then i remember the average person off the street has no idea what the carboniferous is and i feel better
are you really bad at it or are you in "good at it" spaces
"are you really bad at it or are you in 'good at it' spaces" has derailed so much self-hate since I read it
this is a load bearing sentence in my psyche and I can't believe it's only 2 months old
Here also one of my favorite scences☁️
This warms my heart🌞
A tale of Ba Sing Se.
katara is one of those impossibly cool people who “has a guy” for everything. like run into any sort of problem and she’s just like “hang on i gotchu. just contact this number and they’ll know what to do.” but half the time that guy is just sokka
incredibly in-character
