hello wings of fire fandom i recently reread darkstalker's book out of boredom and a little bit of nostalgia and i forgot how doomed by the narrative everyone in that story is. i feel so bad for arctic and foeslayer specifically because they just wanted to be happy man. they just wanted to live a life together in a world that shunned them completely and if things were different then maybe they would be happy and alive and together but they were doomed from the start....

i havent read runaways yet (i gotta get on that its been like ten years💀) but i truly think that if foeslayer and arctic chose not to return to the night kingdom and instead found somewhere else to live they wouldve been at least somewhat happier. or maybe not since one of arctics main reasons for hating the night kingdom so much was that he wasnt treated like the prince he is; but maybe he wouldnt mind giving that up if it meant being with foeslayer? i dunno, arctic is such an interesting character to me. i love how even though hes filled with hatred and resentment he still cares for foeslayer (and whiteout, to some degree, i think?) i.e; when darkstalker said his soul was almost all the way dark and arctics first thought was "what if i hurt foeslayer?"

ARUGH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I WISH THEY GOT THE HAPPY ENDING THEY DESERVED

they make me so sad, all they wanted was to be together and in the end they didnt even get to die together :(

its probably definitely absolutely arctics fault that everything fell apart because if he hadnt accused foeslayer of only loving him for his power then she'd never taken off her earring --> diamond's spell would've never taken ahold of her --> darkstalker wouldn't have spiralled as quickly (maybe? probably.) but....c'est la vie

ANYWAYS!! This was so self indulgent 😭😭 I love giving these two lil details that remind them of each other (Ao Bing's red pearls strung in his hair, Nezha's hairpin made of ice by his one and only, etc etc) they make me ill,,,

Also Nezha is wearing the women's red, gold and black attire,, I would've given him the same, gold and black attire as Ao Bing, but I can't help it when red is Nezha's color,,,

Anyways they're off to the wedding!!! Everyone congratulate them!!

I noticed that in the show Shockwave doesnt actually ever use his claws to fight. He uses his canon and the magnus hammer. Whenever he DOES use his claws its to do "brain surgery" and building the Supremes.
