At what age will you give your children their first cell phone? Why?
I think age ten is a decent age to give my child their first cell phone or once they actually need one. I remember when I was ten years old and I needed to have a phone because I didn't have any way to contact my mother if I needed her to pick me up from my after school program. Also, I am a child of divorce, it helped me to have a phone because then I could call my family on my dad's side when ever I felt the urge to call them without having to go through my mother. If I were to get divorced, I would give my child a phone because I believe they should be able to contact their father without having to go through me first. If my children were to start an after school program I would give them a phone because I believe they should be able to contact me or their father without going through a teacher. Some times there are things that are too embarrassing for a child to tell their teacher and they would rather talk to their parents about it.
