There is a unique way to cook smoked beer-can burgers that gives the juicy patties a rich beer flavor. Great for people who like to grill!
Ingredients: 4 large ground beef patties. 4 beer cans, emptied and cleaned. 1 cup BBQ sauce. 4 slices cheddar cheese. 1 red onion, thinly sliced. 4 hamburger buns. Salt and pepper to taste. Wood chips for smoking.
Instructions: To add flavor, heat your smoker to 225F 107C with wood chips. Add salt and pepper to each beef patty. In the middle of each patty, make a pocket big enough for a beer can. Put a clean beer can in the middle of each patty and shape the meat around it to make a cup. Spread BBQ sauce on the outside of each patty. Stick the burgers on the smoker's grates and smoke them for two hours, or until the insides reach 160F 71C. In the last 10 minutes, toast the buns on the smoker and add a slice of cheddar cheese to each burger. Take the burgers out of the smoker and give them a minute or two to rest. Add sliced red onion as a garnish and your choice of toppings to the burgers. Enjoy while hot!

In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. These buttery shortbread cookies are filled with sweet apricot jam and make a delectable and fruity treat. Ideal for an afternoon tea or a sweet snack.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Mix in the flour mixture until it is just combined with the butter mixture. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap after shaping it into a log. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Take the dough out of the fridge and cut it into 1/4 inch thick slices. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make a small indentation in the centre of each cookie. Apricot jam should be spooned into each indentation. 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, bake the cookies. Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
