I was looking over your blog and I still adore your Stunticon designs, and I also saw the updated idea that Drag Strip decides to go off and win the race on his own decision, and I think that fits even more than his whole team deciding that!!
Drag Strip could be fuming and getting more and more frustrated the longer he sees how he is forced to lose for Swindle's fixed betting ring and, finally, he decides he's had enough. He wins and likely his brothers are surprised because he didn't clear it with them, but Drag Strip is just so furious about how much his "reputation" was ruined by Swindle.
Motormaster is not as intense about racing as Drag Strip, but he agrees because he hates how his team always had to find a way to lose. To embarrass themselves for Swindle's betting. How is it worth it?
I just love that you included the Stunticons and Swindle in your AU.
But now I'm curious, do you have any plans on what happened/whereabouts the other combiner teams are?
Are the Protectobots, Constructicons and Aerialbots in this AU? And what happened to the rest of Swindle's team? Are the Combaticons okay :(
(I'm also curious if Blaster is around at all??? I love him so much haha).
Ahhh!! Thank you for the questions! And affection to my Stunticons and Swindle 🥰
I'm happy you like the idea of Drag Strip acting on his own and I totally agree with what you said!! That's pretty much exactly how it would go down! I'm thinking this will kick off a series of deals going wrong for Swindle or bots breaking ties with him.
As for where the rest of the Combaticons are! They're actually with Swindle! Well... Vortex and Brawl are. They act as muscle for Swindle's casino and help him keep bots in line when they don't want to do good on promises. They like the job because Swindle pretty much lets them do what they want and he pays them good enough. He's easier to deal with than Onslaught.
In this AU I want there to be a small war/fight to get some bots battle familiar before the Decepticon/Autobot war. I just have to figure out what it was about 🤔 And there will be quite some time between then and the big war.
Anyway, the Combaticons are war vets who are adjusting to life after the fight (they'll be forged at the start of that small war) Onslaught easily gets a job in high security after the war, but after time notices corruption within security and his higher ups. This leads to him airing his frustrations and getting scouted by the startings of the Decepticons.
Onslaught double deals between his security position and the Decepticons, acting as a strategist for their movements and providing muscle by reassembling his Combaticons. Acting kinda like mercenaries.
Though Swindle has made his own way since the war. A thriving casino along with his own... not so honest dealings. Not finding any need to be some grunt, which ends up with him butting helms with Onslaught.
The two do have overlap still since Swindle is a large pusher/supplier of weapons for the Decepticon uprising. Moving them safely requires Onslaughts help.
I don't have anything specific in mind for the other combinders during this time. The only appearance is from First Aid, who is a med student at the same time as Knockout and Spoiler are in the AU.
Once the war has been going on for awhile, different Decepticon groups will be sent out to find resources or further conquer. Some of them will be combinder teams. That may eventually run into the Autobots once they arrive on Earth.
On Earth is where the Stunticons are stationed/stranded. The Combaticons will show up and maybe the Constructions. I haven't figured out which Autobot combinder will be there to fight them 🤔 At first I was thinking the Technobots, but the Aerialbots make sense to fight the Stunticons. Though, I will probably choose the Protectobots since they fit Earth well and i wanna include First Aid haha.
And for Blaster!! My only idea for him atm is that he works for the news prewar. He is a fave, so I'll have to figure out where he appears in the AU too :>
