A little look inside some of my sketchbooks.
New Things
The past couple of years I have had a bit of art block. I'm going to try updating this page showing new developments and processes in my creative journey.
I created this original character inspired by the Gorrilaz design using my own style.
Tarot packaging
I created a net for the box to the store the cards. I used the first card ( The Fool) on the front and the last card (The World) for the back. I used my card back pattern for the sides.
My final Major Arcana Tarot cards
The Magician and The Hanged One sketches
The Sun and The Moon Tarot cards
The moon card shows a more darker and real image while the Sun card is a bright, positive idealised image
Final Back design
Tarot Card back design
For my design on the back of the card, I created a virus image, referencing the contemporary themes of the cards.
Development of the design:
Put into photoshop an procreate, experimented with placements and colour
Card backs
Playing cards and Tarot card decks often have a decorative back design to add an extra dimension to the card design or to make it stand out. (wopc.co.uk)
These are card backs created by artist Owen Jones, from 1851-1875.
Final designs of The Devil, The Fool and The World cards.
Completed Hermit Tarot, themes of isolation relating to modern events (lockdown)
Outlines of the Moon, Fool and World cards
Final Death Tarot design
I used the virus pattern to link the plague doctor to modern day events.
High Priestess Tarot card, created using watercolours and Procreate
Watercolour High Priestess. I used bright, surreal colours to create an otherworldly and mystical look to the character
