Rei legit burned you because of endeavor. dont forget that. Natsuo or Fuyumi went thru shit, yes, but that aint really a reason to go out and do evil things "oh yeah I watched my siblings be abused and now i'm the one that's depressed and traumatised and shit and unaliving people." you see how stupid that is? they have every right to hate but not to act severely on that hate.
Then there's Shoto and Touya
okay, shoto, you were abused, harrased, and isolated.

But guess what? one of you, was told again and again how great you were as a child and that made you super ambitious. you did everything you could and even more to make one person happy. but that person gave up on you. think about the mental toll that would take on A FUCKING TODDLER then they scream at you to stop making them proud and to stop being ambitious, the only things you even knew how to do. but ofc, you didn't give up hope, which ended in you going mad and also unintentionally uncontrollably burning yourself. then you were taken to some shitty kids centre where ppl tried to sweet talk you so that they could control you. then, with the little hope you had, you resisted and went back to that same hellish home.
if that home had been any different, you wouldn't have resorted to madness and sorrow and an endless burning hatred.
but ofc, nothing had changed and you were completely forgotten.
the hopeful, bright, happy, proud, heroic kid was gone. after hoping and trying and hoping and trying and still being failed by others again and again and again.
the other, was abused and harassed and isolated, but this time, that was the only thing he knew.
this time, he didn't have his dreams crushed again and again and again.
this time, he was a perfect prodigy, his body could at least handle that power,
this time, the mother tried to help stop the abuse.
this time, the kid had a chance to be hopeful.
this time, he had a chance to survive.
one was an expirement to be tested and thrown, the other was a perfect puppet to be polished and sown back everytime he faltered.
one had nothing but cracks and scars, the other found people who lifted him up.
one was far too gone and forgotten, unrecognized.
the other was taught, helped, and someone to remember. now tell me, who had it worse? you both had it bad but who had it worse?
I get your point, but I don't think shouto meant it like that. What I got from it was that Touya is the only one actively murdering people, while the rest of them are choosing not to. Touya chose to enact revenge and maybe went a bit more mad trying to achieve it.
His mother neglected the rest of the kids once shouto was born, yes. But that was the only support shouto had. Touya had the rest of the siblings and could play ball in the yard.
All of the kids went through hell in that household. But from what was implied, Shouto was the only one physically abused. I'm not saying he's the only one, just that we see evidence of it. From what is shown once Touya's quirk started hurting him, Endeavor gave up on him and started neglecting him like Fuyumi and Natsuo.
I agree it wouldn't make sense for Natsuo and Fuyumi to become 'villains,' but could you really blame them. Imagine one of your siblings were abused all day while you're powerless to do anything.
Training was all Shouto knew, and thus never had hope for anything better. He met people in ua that showed him that there's a better way. He got some form of help from them.
Touya had been manipulated from a young age to want to become a hero to surpass All Might. He got that attention from Endeavor and then it was taken away. Ended up killing himself trying to prove himself to Endeavor.
They're technically two sides of the same coin, one was desperate for his fathers attention while the other wanted nothing to do with it.
I can say that it makes more sense for Touya to become mentally unstable as he had that push and pull, and became desperate for even an ounce.
They both suffered at the hands of Endeavor, and we can compare who had it worse all we want, but you can't discredit one just because you favor the other.
Touya was technically out of Endeavor's clutches by 16, and he's what 24?? So if it was available, that space away from Endeavor would have done him some good if he allowed it.
From what I interpret is that he's not comparing their traumas by saying that Touya is the only one burning others but that he's trying to understand Touya.
They both were treated like shit, and Shouto himself said they're alike. The main reason Shouto is fighting him is to try and save him because he knows what its like, not discredit his trauma.
They may not have the same experiences in that house, but it's similar enough to empathize.
you have a great point and in all honesty, that's how this whole thing should be viewed. I didn't realise I'd gotten carried away trying to defend touya and sorta undermined shoto and the others,
but i do want to say that i made that bcuz a lot of the fandom seemed to forget that touya went thru just as much as shoto and more
they both went thru shit, all of them suffered, dabi had every right to be a villain, so did the others
but I've seen too many posts criticising touya, so when I got to that part in the anime I had to voice it out
I didn't exactly mean to write in a way that targeted shoto but that was the writing style that came automatically cuz I rant alot so yes (idk if that made sense)
