Hey, my name's Dave (Tandog Dalisay). I really don’t know what to write on these things, so you get some random facts. Just living in Aklan (Western Visayas Region, Philippines) and pretending to be an adult (you know, like with a job, chores, bills and stuff). I am a really down to earth guy. I enjoy everything from witty banter over coffee to philosophical discussions over artisan cocktails. I don't let the little things bother me. I am also very spontaneous, fun, and sarcastic. I've never met a person I couldn't make laugh at least in my own unique ways, and I've never heard a joke too off-beat, dirty, or racist (and I've heard some crazy jokes!). I can charm a grandma like it's nobody's business. I love humor in all its fine forms. I believe it's important to not let yourself get all riled up over everything or you'll always be upset and never find time to enjoy the things that really matter in life. I love to travel to new places and try new things. I'm big on seeing new cities and countries and exposing myself to new and interesting cultures. I love planning big trips and events. I am a huge football fan but I never have the nerve to play it in a regular basis. I would consider myself very passionate about music and movies. I am an only child. While I've been introverted a lot of my life, I've recently became much more extroverted, taking part in fun activities like going to the beach at midnight. I'm up for whatever sounds like it might be a fun adventure pretty much anytime. I'm looking to really get out there and live life to the fullest. What I’m doing with my life: I am a Hotelier / HR Practitioner Trying to have fun, enjoy my 30s and explore one of the most exciting cities in the world (if budget permits and without becoming a diabetic or alcoholic). I’m really good at: Listening and solving other people’s problems; Adapting to new things, getting along with people, going with the flow, causing all sorts of crazy mischief when the flow is just too boring; Seeing the bright side, random tangents in conversations, and giving great back & neck massages. Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food: Books: Anything by James Patterson. A lot of my reading is news though electronically. Loved reading poems too, especially that of William Earnest Henley – the Invictus; I read The Book of Job during the most trying times of my life. Movies: I generally like comedies; Any superhero movie or a movie that has a good story / compelling message / epic romance / investigative of sorts (CSI, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Chuck most recently How to get Away with Murder). Really want to see the new season of Heroes! Music: Depends on the mood but I enjoy Jazz, House and a ton of the modern stuff as well (RIO is a staple for any road trip). Will also reluctantly admit that I'm a fan of Gregorian Chants and Don Moen. Food: Anything as long as it's not too spicy. The six things I could never do without: How can I be so wrong with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and therefore stating a sixth is a trap. Anyway, I could never do without an internet connection, as it can be used to fix pretty much any other thing I couldn't do without. Don't think anything else registers as a "need" with me but some good food, good cocktails, cozy atmosphere, physical activity – jogging/running, yoga and stimulating conversation can really make my day. To answer the question with less cheating and in no order, Family Friends A Good Sleep Mobile Phone Jesus You (ahahh!!) I spend a lot of time thinking about my future, hopes and dreams. I also think very hard about my missing rib (a wife - my life partner) and whether migrating to Canada is ultimately where I want to be, and how I can discover my true sense of self. How my life would be different if I still have my parents around. Not in a "My life is so terrible! I wish I could do it over again” sort of sense. There are a lot of good stuffs in my life right now. I always strive to be the best person that I can be and hope to make a positive impact on others - to be the POSITIVE influence and be an INSPIRATION to others. On a typical Friday night I am probably working. I'm kind of a shy person but I'll always listen. Since I'm new to this, I'll probably make a bad first impression but take time to get to know me. It'll be worth it.
We take many things for granted because we get too used to having them around. It's a sad reality that we realize how much even the smallest things meant to us when they are no longer available to you. Despite your absence, the love you both have still lingers, keeping me strong....and since I know that both of you wanted me to be, I will do my best and smile. Remembering is easy, I do it everyday, but there's an ache within my heart that will never go away.
