Fingers loosen around the trigger of the device - was Butcher actually being spoken down and about to change his mind about his whole killing all the supes of the world? Wouldn't affect him or Ryan anymore if he did it right? They didn't have V in their veins, no powers anymore.

But Butcher was in that dangerously angry stage of grief. Of having not just grieving over the loss of his loyal companion of Terror; though that had thrown him over the edge, but it was a loss of sense of himself. He had accomplished what he had set out to do.

Kill Homelander.

And now he didn't know what he was going to do next, and lord knows he doesn't have the communication skills to fully express that fear so easily. But as quick as these thoughts are, they all go blank when he hears the gunshot, feels the pain rush through his body as he drops the device and falls to his knees.

My favorite type of friendship is the type where we can just pick up again where we left off. I have some friends that I don’t talk to for months. Then they come back online and we chat and have a good time. The same goes for threads. I’m not going to lose interest in a thread just because I have to wait 6 months for a reply. I want to be a safe harbor for my roleplaying partners. No matter how long you disappear for, I’ll always be there when you return, to welcome you back.

He has to ask him, trying to make him see the bigger picture, not just honed in on the here and now, so focused one man, one monster. Though the mention of Goldie, of not wanting to live forever, the old supe winces. Shit, he knows that feeling, not wanting to live forever, especially when he's going to spend it alone. Just two of them left, him and fucking Soldier Boy of all people. Fate really has a way of slapping the airman in the face with irony, doesn't it? The only person that will always be there is the last person on the entire planet he wants to be anywhere near. "With me, with Soldier Boy, we're still here, the last remnants. While we're alive, it'll never be over. You know that."

Isn't that just so human at the end of it all? He sighs and he closes his eyes for a moment and rubs his temples with his hand, he can feel that headache coming. "You're a cunt for being right." He slightly growls though its more directed at himself that Robbie. "I hate that you know. But so what? You saying we take down Vought and hope Homelander just gives up..? That he just does that because I don't see another way to kill him other than...you know."

Butcher's there breathing heavily and staring at Hughie - he heard him but he's still coming down from the rage. Vought guards had found them, of course they had and well the massacre before the other had happened. Butcher covered in blood, guts and a rage that just seemed to emanate from him.

A guard stirred awake, to move and he should have just stayed down, because without missing a single beat of a breath on instinct does tendril fly out from Butcher and drive straight through the guy's chest. Eyes still on Hughie.

"They attacked me first."

Was that the truth or a lie, Butcher wouldn't fully be able to say the second he saw them try to invade the space well he went into a rage mode and fought.

brows rose at the remark, though kimiko was not unused to such from butcher himself. he was a real asshole, especially when he was frustrated. still, as much as she could understand where he was coming from, that didn’t mean a surge of anger didn’t begin to flare hot in her chest.

now it wasn't kimiko that was the source of his outburst of frustration. no it was the whole bloody situation they had all found themselves in. but whatever she was doing had him just teetering over the edge. without the others here because they off on their own errands - it left no hughie to calm his temper and no frenchie or mm to get him to back off.

eyes narrow at her signing - wasn't like he didn't care to learn or anything. he knew enough and perhaps there had been those sleepless nights that he used the net to watch videos to get enough of an understanding of what she was saying, he just couldn't be bothered to sign back even if he knew it.

there comes the slight chuckle at the spoken comeback, and he smirks. "oi oi, come on now. no need for that now is there." he says as if he isn't the one that started this at all, but he huffs and leans against the wall, foot tapping. he can feel it bubbling up again, that rage and need to get it out.

Silence, Bombsight, Robbie has actually gotten Butcher to fall into silence. This silence probably speaks volumes, because not only is Robbie right, but he knows that it would break Becca's heart. It would kill Ryan who he had promised to protect. But Homelander had to go. "You don't understand. If Homelander goes, Vought will only replace him with some other crazy fuck." He pauses and struggles. "They know the cost, made the choice even if we offered a couple of them the V1 you had to be with their...partners. Like your Goldie, they don't want to live forever."

i play a canon character the way I want to play them, not how the show plays them, not how the actor plays them, hell not even how others want me to play them. I play the canon character for me. I play them so I can have an outlet away from stress, not to gain stress from the pressures of following canon. I don’t follow canon. and i’m proud of that.

With a dramatic eye roll and groan, Grandpa leaves the table. "Shit's getting deep in here. Gonna need my wading boots." Nana hushes him on his way out. She isn't thrilled by the age difference, but she is happy to know Hughie is with someone who can take care of him. "We can all talk more in the morning," she announces. "It's getting late."

Morning? Hughie wonders. "What do you—what are you talking about?" Nana explains that Grandpa John has planned a fishing trip for the boys. Billy and Hughie will be staying in separate guest rooms since they aren't married. They must keep it proper. What the shit?

Excusing herself from the table, they're left alone. "Butcher, I'm really sorry. I honestly thought this was only dinner." His expression sheepish and voice small, Campbell feels like he's a teenager again. "You can go if you want. It's probably already past their bedtime. When they go to their room, sneak out the back."

Knocked out of his rather sweet moment does he look over to Hughie's Nana just as surprised as Hughie was about the morning thing. He grew fidgety and if it was about anything it was about Terror, hadn't really prepared to leave him overnight. He knew the others would look after the dog but it still made him fidget.

When they are left alone, he turns to Hughie. He smiles softly and reaches over, hand over Hughie's and that fidgeting is gone. If anything could cancel out the worry about his dog it was the worry he had over his boyfriend.

"Look Hughie, that would be rude. I can't leave ya here on your own. Wouldn't feel right." Hand grips just slightly tighter on Hughie's, he knew this meant being even more on his best behaviour but for the other he would do it. "Come on, it's just the night. We can manage right?"
