Dylan x gender neutral reader!
Cause this boy didn't get nearly enough lovin ;^;
A prequel to the knight in the baggy shirt?
Maybe I do a sequel too ;)
You can now make one of 2 choices at 3 parts and maybe one in the sequel. Second choices (in blue) are in this post and I'll add the link to the first choices so click on it to read the corresponding choice.
(Also I changed the turns, it's Dylan then Abi and instead of Emma it's Ryan who takes the lead from Abi, then asks Jacob for his dare.)
You looked from Kaitlyn who was still mad at Ryan's dare for Jacob, towards Jacob himself as he was putting on his pants after his leap over the fire, staring you down like he was daring you to dodge the bullet like Abi did too. Why did Ryan had to jump in Abi's turn and hand the turn right over to Jacob? Right at the beginning too when you still had hope to skip any embarrassment at Jacob's hand. Well that hope's crushed now.
Honestly you were tired of evading Jacob's questions and teases. Tired but not done. With a heavy sigh you put your drink to the side leaned forward on your knees and stared back at him.
It wasn't cause you were brave or anything, just if you chose the truth he could ask you the question he was pesturing you about since he found out about your little secret a week ago, and you didn't want to break the game by lying nor did you want to humiliate yourself in front of everyone. But with dare maximum he could do was make you kiss someone, and IF they were olay with it. So many options really.
"Oho ho you think you're smart, huh?"
The others had no idea what the two of you were talking about so they were wondering why choosing Jacob's dare is smart for you.
Jacob clapped his hands and rubbed them together visibly thinking hard to try and bust you somehow.
"How about a simple kiss choice then, huh? Who you're gonna kiss, Dylan, or Ryan?"
'Simple choice, difficult consequences.' you would've scoffed but he would know he's caught you. So your just lazily dragged your eyes from Ryan to Dylan. Ryan was slightly surprised he was dragged into this, but Dylan was the one that made you nervous. Eventhough he kept his easy smile, you couldn't read him to know what he was feeling.
And he had become your close friend very quickly through the past weeks, whose mood you could read easily so it wasn't a good sign that he was showing you this expression now.
Jacob had unknowingly or impressively knowngly put you in a terrible position; you suspected it was the former cause you found it unbelievable for him to be this attending.
He was making you choose wether you wanted to kiss your best friend who was also your secret crush, or kiss your best friend's secret crush. You knew this secret because Dylan had subtly hinted it out loud more than a few times, and not so subtly hinted it to you; asking something about how cool is the brooding mysterious vibe or something. The point was, probably whatever you chose would upset Dylan but which one would upset him more? Kissing his crush in front of him or him in front of his crush?
As your eyes landed on Dylan for the last time you briefly thought about backing down but then it would not only prove Jacob's point but then he would embarass the shit out of you for the remaining time you had at the quary.
"Ryan. One platonic meaningless kiss coming right up?"
"Aw, I don't even get a best friend peck?" Dylan scoffed, looking at you.
You avoided looking at Dylan at all costs as you stood up from your place making your way passes him and towards Ryan. You missed the disappointment momentarily flashing in Dylan's eyes, but you knew it was there.
This could've been considered a direct betrayal to your best friend's trust, especially since he had told you about his crush on Ryan. But if you were to kiss Dylan then everyone including Ryan would assume that you are together and that's why you always hang out, so he Dylan would miss his chance with Ryan. Especially since you knew Jacob would pesture and tease you on about it endlessly, not letting anybody forget or even think otherwise.
Either way it was going to be just a simple kiss and nothing more. As little as possible.
"Guys. On the lips, right? No chicken peck or anything." Jacob pressed on making you want to kick him back into the fire.
Dylan glanced at him and thinking about interrupting the dare like Ryan had jumped in for Abi. At least 2 people had to be uncomfortable now right? Or was it just him? He drcided not to interject as he looked back at you and Ryan now.
You stood in between Ryan's legs making sure there was no extra contact, wondering what is the least suspicious way of doing this, finally deciding on resting one hand on his shoulder as you leaned down and kissed Ryan on the lips. The silence was ringing in your reddening ears as you stayed as still as you could only pressing your lips to him gently, fortunately he was very awkward as well so he didn't attempt anything else either. You pulled back after a few seconds that felt like hours to you and made your way back to your seat. You could feel Dylan's heavy stare on you the whole 3 steps of the way and you felt like he was burning his disappointment into you.
"I apologize for Jacob's inconvenience..."
"It felt like watching your grandparents kiss. So boring. No action." Emma drawled with an eyeroll as she pulled one leg over the other crossing her legs and leaning back.
"This is how it is when you do a favor for a friend's dare. You should try it some time. You know? Having friends." You sassed back and she scoffed but laughed at your comeback.
"Well Emma, truth or dare."
"For you, honey, truth." She squinted her eyes at you and gave a fake smile, which made you smirk.
"Okay then, on the subject of you not having friends, tell us one of Jacob's embarassing secrets."
You were trying to not pay attention to the side Dylan was sitting at all, and get back at Jacob for possibly ruining your nice friendship.
"Hey! That's not fair! Can they do that?"
"(Y/n) can ask whatever and... well yeah... I guess if Emma chooses to answer, then... yeah they can pretty much do that."
You didn't even bother looking at Dylan as he explained what seemed to be his only just now made up house rules for his game with an unimpressed tone. He seemed like he didn't want to play this game anymore. You just wished someone would soon ask him something he would like.
"Hmm, Let me think." She tapped her chin with a finger dramatically, looking deep in thought.
"Well, I remember he once said that he used to practice french kissing with Kaitlyn. But she had to stop cause she said he was a terrible kisser. Honestly. I can confirm."
Your eyes moved onto Jacob with a sly grin as he looked like he was ready to sulk. You did your best to ignore Dylan but you could see him in your peripheral vision, staring at the fire deep in thought as the others picked on Jacob.
"Whatever man." Jacob huffed crossing his arms and leaning back, away from you all.
"Dare. Gimme what you got."
"Okay Ryan. I dare you to kiss either Kaitlyn... or Dylan."
You couldn't help glancing at Dylan as he finally stopped watching the flames to look at Emma, then at Ryan. You wanted to see his expression at Ryan's choice. The moment of truth, huh?
"Wow... I mean... I guess both's off the table?"
Your heart dropped as Dylan smiled and since Ryan didn't look like he was going to go to him like you did to Ryan, he stood up and headed over with his drink in hand, the others cheering and whistling for him.
'Didn't even bother get up to do his own dare. How mysteriously ungentlemanly.' You rolled your eyes bitterly.
It was a very short peck though and it ended quite as fast as yours did. Even so, it made you feel terrible to the point you decided to look away.
"Always happy to please."
"Ryan is on fire tonight, huh?" Emma grinned winking at him.
Dylan made his way back to his seat and it seemed like this time it was him who was avoiding your gaze.
You weren't paying attention to the rest of the game, drinking and staring into the flames watching them and only listening to your surroundings for the sound of your name but fortunately it wasn't called. Every once in a while you'd steal a glance from Dylan but he wasn't looking at anyone, basically doing what you were doing.
'What a stupid game.' You thought as you wondered why Dylan wasn't looking happy with this game. At least you and Jacob and Kaitlyn had a reason to be unhappy. Maybe it was because you kissed his crush? Well you could explain it to him later, hopefully... other than that you were glad for him. Not happy. But glad.
You looked up hearing Emma and from that sentence on almost everyone was unhappy with this stupid game. Abi and Jacob stormed off, Nick and Emma going after them and leaving the four remaining of you in total awkwardness.
Not even an hour after the eventful game, shit hit the fan pretty quickly. Abi was terrified, Nick was bitten, Jacob talked of hunters who poured blood on him and cut him down from the tree and Emma was kinda missing.
After Jacob went to look for Emma the rest of you managed to get Nick to the supposed safety of the shack. Kaitlyn took Nick away to take a look at his wounds.
You were sitting in a corner on the ground leaning your back on the wall and watching the ceiling wondering why this night had become such a shit show. Maybe if you had stayed inside like Mr. Hackett told you this wouldn't happen? He shouldn't have hid such dangers from you in the first place though.
Your jumbled thoughts were interrupted as a familiar face appeared in your vision, and raised his head to find out what you were staring at so intently.
The night had become so terrifying that Dylan and all that went down about him had almost been forgotten by you. Almost.
"Trying to teleport somewhere else, isn't it obvious?"
"... am I intruding or something? I can go away if you want?..." he sounded a little disappointed and you rolled your eyes patting the ground next to you for him to sit.
"I meant somewhere safe. Not away from you."
"Ah," he sat down and leaned back against the wall, "...yea, ceilings tend to not do that... verry disappointing really..."
You turned your head to look at him. Normally, the kind of friends you'd become was that you would tease him about the campfire and him kissing his crush, but you weren't in the mood, nor did you want to bring that back up cause it made you feel guilty and would maybe upset him.
"Nick seemed more shocked than injured. I think he'll be fine."
Dylan didn't look at you, he had his knees up and his arms were draped over them, his hands connected with interlaced fingers and he was staring at his hands.
That was a very shorter reply than you expected so maybe he wasn't in the mood for talking so you gladly fell silent and stared back at the roof.
"You know... I need to talk..."
You sighed and nodded your head then remembered he wasn't looking at you so you hummed in agreement.
"...so... about those dares... the smooches and all..."
"Oh shit, I offended you, didn't I? I totally forgot to apologize to you, I'm so sorry. I thought kissing you in front of your crush would be the worse thing to do... since Jacob was trying so hard to prove we are together! I thought it would ruin your chances with Ryan if I kissed you..."
You were now turned towards him and watching him intently as he frowned looking surprised but didn't turn to you.
"No. What? No that's not the point-"
"I knew I should've just backed down, so stupid..."
He turned his head towards you watching you with a slightly open mouth until you became quiet again.
"That's not the point either."
You blinked a few times feeling a little calmer now, cause you don't think you did anything worse than that choice so what he was going to say could've been more tolerable now.
"I'm so glad I needed to talk so you could let that out by the way..." he rolled his eyes at you and you huffed, a little annoyed.
"Well then what was your point?"
He looked to be pondering his reply before he shrugged.
"I dunno... it wasn't what I expected..."
"Oh my god Dylan, just talk."
Then he looked right into your eyes very seriously and you could feel your heart beat against your chest.
"Anything I say... no matter what...you will stay my friend...right?"
You raised an eyebrow confusion taking over your expression.
"Well, I'll do my best? I mean as long as it's not something too mean and nasty?"
"I hated it when you kissed Ryan."
"No it's not because of you...," he sighed before continuing " I didn't like it when I kissed him either."
You could see his cheeks reddening even in the dim light and you suspected you weren't much better yourself in your frustrated state. You tried to joke it off, not knowing what he meant.
"Well Ryan isn't the smoothest kisser. Can't imagine the Hag of Hackett's quarry story is much of a pick up line for good practice."
He scoffed and the mood lightened for just a few seconds before his next words made it unbearably heavier.
"No, it wasn't his kissing skills... although they were pretty nonexistent, not gonna lie...it was...because of you."
Your heart skipped a beat as you watched him, silently pleasing him to explain himself.
"I was thinking of you the whole time... I didn't like you kissing him... I wanted it to be me... I wanted you to kiss me."
"Yo! Hacketteers! We need to go to Mr. H's quarters to call for help."
With the moment gone and both of you scrambling to your feet to join Ryan, you were only cursing Ryan internally for interrupting your chat.
Despite a few attempts from Dylan during the walk to Mr. H's quarters to make you join the conversation, you remained passive. You were deep in thought about the new information revealed to you and your thoughts and emotions were a jumbled mess. Dylan seemed to have gotten the hint and given up on dragging you in the chat.
You felt bad for him, he probably thought he lost your friendship by that confession earlier or something, but not long ago you were put in the same situation at the game, so it wasn't too unfair. You could make it up to him later.
You all entered the shack after Ryan unlocked the door and you started looking around since it was your first time as Dylan and Ryan started handling the phone call, laughing at Dylan's ninety one-one shenanigans, which actually brought a soft smile to his lips.
By the way handling is a very generous word. You were kinda glad the phone cut off and they didn't manage to do their embarassing speech.
2. go down the hatch with Dylan and leave Ryan upstairs / stay in with Dylan and send Ryan out to check the line
"So, now what?" Ryan asked putting the phone down and looking at Dylan.
"I don't know... did you hang up the phone?"
"No, what? Hang up the phone?"
"Yeah like in the movies..." Dyaln went to the the other side of the desk to grab the phone from Ryan and you joined them.
"Well Ryan, you could go check out the line, just outside the cabin."
He looked at you for a few seconds in silence before narrowing his eyes.
"Cause you have the gun and neither of us are good shots."
"You don't know that I might be an awesome shot." You elbowed him in the side and he fell silent catching your hint and dropping his head a little under Ryan's stare.
"Yeeah... no I don't think so. Okay I'll check it out... stay put."
Dylan sat down on Mr. Hackett's rotating chair and gave it a roll before replying to Ryan.
"Just follow the wire to the box, yeah?"
He waved his hands in the air dismissively turning his back on you and leaving the room not too willingly.
"I don't think he'll be back soon."
You hummed crouching and getting under the desk on all fours to check out the wires there.
"Which brings us back to the subject of why you sent him on a goose chase in the first place. Wanted...to... talk... oh."
Assuming by his response you could tell he had done a full rotation and was back towards the desk where you were bent under having found nothing wrong.
"Just a butt- BIT! Just a bit!"
You chuckled and turned around draping your arms over his lap as you looked up at him, almost all your body still covered by the desk.
"I thought about what you said."
His eyes ripped away from where your hands almost touched eachother in the middle of his legs to look into your eyes.
"I apologize if I overstepped anything... you know? I wouldn't want to lose you as a friend..."
You nodded with innocent looking eyes but your smirk wasn't matching your expression, making him raise an eyebrow at you. You lowered your head until your chin was just barely touching the outline of his dick.
"Good thing your feelings are reciprocated then."
Your chin rubbed on him when you talked and you relished the sound of his breath hitching in his throat as his dick twitched in response making your smirk widen.
"I really didn't like Ryan kissing you too."
Your lips parted mouthing over his rapidly excited shaft from over his pants as your nails scraped up his thighs, reaching the hem and hooking your fingers inside, lightly tugging on it. You could see his knuckles turning white as tightly as he was gripping the arm rest of the chair.
"...I'm sorry ..." he whispared in awe unable to remove his eyes from you.
You tugged and pulled on his pants and he lifted his hips off the chair to help you but you stopped once his dick sprung up, freed and in full attention. You glanced up at his eyes. Dialated pupils glazed over with lust, parted lips forcing each breath through with so much anticipation. You could see the red of his cheeks deepening when your eyes met.
"Are you sorry enough to deserve this?"
"I am truly really very sorry... I should've kissed you. Can... can I kiss you now?"
You could feel the butterflies going wild in your stomach at this man's manners while you had pinned him down, he was asking for permission for a kiss.
His hands immediately left the chair and he cupped both sides of your face, gently pulling you up from under the desk and smashing his lips onto yours. You shuffled a little closer, grabing the back of his neck and pulling him down to you as you hummed in the kiss in appreciation. His lips were soft and warm and you could finally kiss them. You couldn't help a little quiet moan as he sucked your lower lip in between his teeth, lightly flicking his tongue on it before releasing it.
"Guys? Anything different?" Ryan's muffled voice from outside the window broke the two of you apart and you slid back down between Dylan's legs and under the desk as Dylan straightened back up turning to look at Ryan through the window.
"N-no? No. You should keep looking." Dylan yelled back his breathless voice making you giggle under the desk.
"What ... what are you even doing on that side? It's on the other side of the shack..."
"What? Man... you serious?"
You looked up at him with raised eyebrowsat his reaction to you sucking his head in your mouth and hollowing your cheeks around it. You liked it.
"I... uh nothing...stubbed my toe..."
Ryan waved him off before making his way over to the other side. Once sure he was gone Dylan looked back down at you.
You rolled your eyes and started bobbing your head and his fingers that were still cupping the side of your face moved through your hair and rested on the back of your head, no pressure, just a little weight and you hummed around his length making him throw his head back on the backrest of the chair with a throaty sigh.
You didn't have much time until Ryan would be back so you grabbed what you couldn't fit in your mouth and started pumping his shaft in time with the bobbing of your head, it didn't take long for him to start twitching and you swallowed, throat constricting around his head as he finally realesed with a low grunt.
That's when he heard Ryan outside the door and he looked down at you terrified expecting you to let go but instead you gave him another light suck that made his knee jerk.
Ryan opened the door and just in time with that Dylan who had found his voice back decided to voice his feeling at the overkill you were preforming on his throbbing sensitive dick.
"Damnit!" He slammed his hand on the desk just as Ryan met his eyes and breathless disheveled expression.
"Uh.... damn this stupid phone, right?"
"What are you doing? Where is (y/n)?"
You had slid out from under the desk after wiping your mouth and fixing your hair, crawling to the side that was hidden from Ryan and popping up from next to the table.
"Was checking some other wires I found." Your voice was hoarse so you cleared it before continuing to sell your story, "it went down in a hatch but Dylan said there is nothing there, so..."
"Oh yeah the empty hatch."
"Are you sure there was nothing in the hatch?"
You shrugged wondering if Ryan was as clueless as he was acting to be or he actually believed there were telephone wires going down the hatch.
"It was dark anyway, and the wires weren't for the phone."
"Yeah, the phone was a hopeless case. Not to undermine your sacrifice or anything."
Dylan piped in unceremoniously making you stiffle a giggle as Ryan rolled his eyes at him. He just looked so aloof after your little performance it looked funny and kinda cute.
Wasn't long before you were all inside the announcement shed and were hopelessly waiting around for a reply to communicate with the modern world outside.
That's when everything went to shit. It all happened in a flash, the message you received that you were being chased, the growl from outside even and having to warn Kaitlyn and her group to get inside cover somewhere. Seemed like the nightmare had begun for you this time.
You watched in horror as Dylan's hand got caught by something none of you could make out, but by this time you were all sure it was no bear.
You rushed to his side to help pull him down as Ryan stood there aiming at the roof and very dangerously close to Dylan's head, probably to shoot in case anything fell off the roof inside except Dylan.
His hand finally got free and he hopped down letting the both of you thumble to the ground as he screamed in pain holding his bloodied wrist.
You scrambled to grab his wrist and apply pressure to stop the bleeding momentarily staring at the punctures and slashes.
"Ah fuck! Ah god! What is this?! Make it stop!"
"What do you want me to do?" Ryan looked at you then back at Dylan, shuffling on his feet.
"Oh fuck it's spreading! Cut it off! Cut it off!"
"Okay okay okay hang on." He looked around then his eyes fixed on his shotgun as he started aiming it at Dylan's arm.
3. don't let Ryan cut Dylan's arm off/ let Ryan cut off Dylan's hand
You looked at Ryan then at Dylan very concerned as you moved over to his other side and grabbed his right hand. He squeezed your hand as he layed out his left arm on the ground for Ryan and hid his face in your chest and you gently cupped his head closing your eyes.
The sound of the shotgun filled the room along with Dylan's shouting whatever curse he knew, gripping your hand so tight it was hurting, but you didn't let go. Your eyes shot open and the first thing they landed on was the blood that was shooting out from his arm making you jump to action to put pressure on it to stop the bleeding.
You asked Ryan for a belt and tightly cut off the circulation to the gushing stump that was Dylan's arm as he groaned and writhed on the ground pulling his arm to his chest when you finally released it.
"The PA how do I do it?" Ryan walked over to the table looking at the roof for the creature that was stomping around on it.
"The wire... get the wire... and press the button..." Dylan groaned holding his arm close to his chest rolling on the ground.
The screeching noise filled the room and blasted out of the speakers, even so the pained voices of the beast on the reof could be heard as it jumped off the roof and ran away. You didnt care much about reuniting with the rest of the group because you were in a hurry to clean up Dylan's arm.
On your way to scrapeyard, you and Dylan were both mostly quiet for a while only slightly bickering about the long way and if you were lost. You were deep in thought from all the things Laura had talked about and were worried for the thousandth time since the beginning of the night. Kaitlyn didn't go with Dylan cause she had to stay with Abi and Emma so you asked her what she needed to fix the car and she decribed it to you, sending you off on your not so merry way.
Dylan wasn't infected but he was down one arm. An arm he could probably never get back.
"Do you... do you think we did the right thing... about this thing?"
You looked up to see Dylan holding his own wrist and staring at the stump that used to be his hand.
"I don't know Dylan, I really hope so...you're one hand behind so far and it's all my fault... I'm so sorry."
He let his arm drop and put his still remaining hand on your shoulder.
"Hey hey now... it wasn't your fault. I would've been infected if we didn't do this."
"I know but... what if that was better?"
"Better that I was infected?"
"Yeah? Someone would finally shoot the beast that gave everyone this curse and you'd be released..."
"From turning into a blood thirsty naked bear every month until then? No thank you. I'll just get a hook and I'm going to look like a pirate. Cool right?"
"... yeah it's cool alright..."
You looked down at the stump of his hand once he looked away from you, a little bit of guilt creeping in on you once again.
You stepped in through the gates and the lights flashed on with a loud noise making you both freeze for a second.
"What the hell was that?"
"Probably movement sensors... it's alright, let's hurry up."
"Yeah yeah, okay, let's go."
When you got busy looking at some of the cars the lights turned off and when Dylan finally moved over to you they turned on again loudly.
"Aaaah! Son of Binky Bonky!"
Dylan yelled and you couldn't help chucking as you layed a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
"Jesus, Dylan, it's just some lights..."
"Yeah and big loud noise...hey... what about that car up there?"
You looked to see where he was pointing and saw a fairly recently disposed car looking all intact hanging off of a magnet grapple.
"Yeah! Must be it, let's go!"
You agreed to stay down as he worked the magnet grapple and once he dropped the car for you, you went straight to work searching for the piece you needed.
The sound of the loud horn made you jump and looking up at Dylan to see what he wanted you saw his terrified expression making you jump in the car which was lifted off the ground immediately. The beast crashed into the car and the car started swaying side to side, the door opened and you fell off out the car but before the thing notice you the loud horn could be hear again and it was distracted by it and jumped on the control box of the grapple breaking the glass and reaching inside for Dylan.
You carefully but quickly made your way to the metal stairs of the grapple. You saw the flames pouring out of the broken window and burnt the beast that howled in pain and jumped off, scrambling away into the woods.
You reached the cabin and looked inside, seeing Dylan alive but bloodied on his shoulder. It was as relieving as it was terrifying.
"I know... it's alright..."
You stepped inside hugging him to your chest and petting his head as he tried to calm down hugging you back and listening to your heartbeat.
