April 23, 2022. There was a little market fair with Filipino American vendors at Farrington High School. We went during the afternoon to check it out. These were the ube milk tea, sisig fries, and ube churros.
April 23, 2022. We attempted to hike Wiliwilinui, but it was extremely muddy and it started to rain. I slipped on mud and ungracefully fell on the way back.
April 19, 2022. Mango Mango recently opened up in Ala Moana. I wish Asian dessert places were more abundant on Oahu. We tried the black rice and the strawberry lychee.
April 16, 2022. I went mini golfing for the first time!
April 15, 2022. My friends and I met up for brunch at Moke’s in Kailua. I had the loco moco and was reminded of how much I love eggs with rice and gravy.
April 15, 2022. Daily Whisk Matcha has been on my list of places to try. I love matcha and was excited to try this out! Their matcha lilikoi soda was sweet, bubbly, and refreshing.Â
April 9, 2022. My friend scored a coveted reservation at Tonkatsu Tamafuji and I could not turn her down when she invited me. I love every single thing about their restaurant. As I was squeezing the lemon, it slipped out of my hand and squirted all over me. I didn’t think anyone noticed, but the server kindly handed me a stack napkins that I gratefully accepted.
April 9, 2022. I don’t eat much dairy anymore so I appreciate any non-dairy ice cream options. This ube flavor from Via Gelato is one of my favorites.
April 8, 2022. My sister and I at the H.E.R. concert. She was amazing live!
April 8, 2022. I haven’t been to Da Cove Health Bar in years. Their acai bowls are still my favorite and I loved that they let me sub the banana topping for blueberries.
April 2, 2022. I desparately needed to use the bathroom so we stopped by Nalu Health Bar for acai bowls so I could use their restroom.
April 2, 2022. We did a short hike (more like a walk) to Ka’ena Point after driving the majority of the way in. We searched for shells along the beach and spotted a monk seal!
October 12, 2015. I had dinner with two friends at 팔색삼겹살. The restaurant is known for their 8 different flavors of 삼겹살: ginseng, wine, pine leaves, garlic, herb, curry, miso paste, and spicy. The set cost ₩30,000 and also comes with spicy seaweed soup. It’s the right amount to feed around 2-3 people. If you’re starving, then 2 people. My favorite flavor was herb, and my least favorite was ginseng.
September 30, 2015. Due to the typhoon, most flights suffered delays as shown with the red time changes. My flight definitely did. The flight time changed from 7:45am to 12:35pm, then to 2:00pm, then to 4:30pm, then to unknown. We also changed gates two times, and mind you these gate changes weren’t close by in walking distance. Ultimately, our flight got delayed by almost 12 hours and we finally made it back to Incheon at 11:00pm. I’m glad we had a group of friends to pass the time with. It would have been terrible doing it alone.Â
