so I’ve been wearing breast forms since this post for a few years now. I’ve had some that were self adhesive as well. it’s all been great, but I’m really eager to get hormones on the go.

So I made this post in 2020. I've been on hormones since 2021. That year I also had a disastrous relationship where I was absurd and assaulted. I have since been in therapy for many years and I'm currently homeless.

I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for my transition and my friends.

I love this answer. There is so much biphobic b.s. in queer communities, and i honestly hate it. I feel badly for this woman’s wife, because she married someone who doesn’t understand or accept something fundamental about her, and about queerness.

The problem here is that honey, especially if you buy it ethically from an apiarist, isn’t actually detrimental to the well-being of the bee or the hive. In the wild, honey is used as a food stock, but in a domesticated honeybee colony, the bees are fed quite well, and so the honey is a surplus.

The alternatives, like sugar, relies on monocrops in third world countries, with transient labour. Growing up, there was a sugarcane field by my house, and I’m sure the Haitian men who worked backbreaking hours hacking a machete through knife-bladed leaves in 40 degree heat for a couple dollars a day would have traded a testicle to be a Canadian honeybee. Stevia’s going the same way, iirc.

Additionally, apiarists are actually huge proponents and activists for sustainable bee-keeping, and it’s estimated that the domesticated hive may be the last great hope for declining populations, because we can optimize their chances for survival.

It’s their life’s work, sure, but it’s not the death of them to use it responsibly.

Provide a home for the bees

Keep that home warm in the winter

Keep the bees well fed, negating the need for honey, which the bees would make anyways

Still do not take all the honey, just in case

Protect the bees from predators

Monitor the hives for any signs of the parasites, diseases, etc. that cause colony collapse disorder

Their bees-

Provide a valuable and reliable source of pollination for plants in the area, both wild and crops

Help keep the local ecosystem healthy

Honey-

Is one of the healthiest things you can eat

Is able to keep for a EXTREMELY long time (Millennia even), making it more valuable than many perishable foods without being full of preservatives

Can be used to soothe sore throats, nauseau, etc.

Has been eaten by humans since at least Ancient Egypt (We’ve found STILL EDIBLE honey in tombs)

Is a great tool in cooking, adding sweetness without raising the sugar content much

Is a staple food in many people’s diets

Honey is amazing you can put it on or in pretty much everything I goddamn love it and you should too.

Possibility Why Gender Dysphoria Increases After Coming Out As Trans

In my psychology class today I had to write an assessment about the approaches. For my last two questions I had to explain the basics of what ‘Diathesis-stress theory’ is and can I tell you, I honestly love it. Why? because it explains why trans people, when finding out we are trans or are stepping into puberty, our dysphoria gets worse.

Diathesis-stress theory is when a biological cause, such as a disease, illness, disorder or condition gets triggered as a result of stress. Although this theory was made to explain mental disorders that are causated by biological and social factors, this theory can apply to other things too. For example, a person with undiagnosed cancer can live a perfectly normal life. Yet, once a stressful event takes a toll, the disease “wakes up” and the person is at risk.

This explains why dysphoria increases when people realise they are trans or are stepping into puberty. The dysphoria is always there but it’s not until a stressful event happens (such as finding out that you are trans or going through the wrong puberty) that our gender dysphoria increases or “wakes up”

Let me tell you why I feel this way. Throughout my life, I’ve had experiences that I now realize were myself reach outside of the Male gender I had been assigned. Dressing in my sister cloths, and for halloween going as “a woman”. My love of long hair and my disdain for short boy cuts. my fantasizing about having a mixed gender body. I was pretty peachy, as far as I could tell. Except that I was always getting mad at people, I would bottle and blow as the terminology goes. I was actually really abusive ( I am not excusing it, I humbly regret every word I ever screamed ). I used meditation, tried celibacy (for 13 years). I was a royal mess and it all came to a head finally. Just as I was starting to realize I wasn’t straight or binary - with the help of my best friend, my partner at the time - I blew up. It was a messy situation. other peoples problems came into my life and I just couldn’t handle them. I blew up at people I cared about and allowed bullies to get the better of me. It was the second worst time in my life, the worst at the time. everything came on full and I ruined a good job and almost destroyed the best friendship I ever had, I’m still working on it. I became extremely depressed and for the first time in my life I wanted to actually end it all. I’m glad I am cowardly enough not to. That’s a good type of cowardly. Anyways, the point is. my dysphoria was, I think, bottled up. Life was actually really easy as a guy, even if I hated the cloths and the hair, beard and mop. Maybe it was the privilege. I can’t talk for anyone AFAB, or anyone who is a POC, and of course my own experience is uniquely unique.
