By definition you can't accidentally queerbait. Queerbaiting is specifically using a same sex pair from the show to market the show to queer audiences with no intention of ever following through on a romantic relationship.

There is officially licensed Destiel merch signed off on by Kripke. Teen Wolf had a commercial with the actors for Derek and Stiles draped over each other talking about being "on a ship." Both shows actively used scenes between them as marketing while actively mocking fans for wanting them together. Sherlock has multiple characters refer to Johnlock as a couple, including characters we're supposed to believe are never wrong about human behavior and pushed those scenes in marketing. Then they acted insulted when fans saw them as a couple.

That's queerbaiting.

Done on accident it would just be queer subtext. Done because they had no other choice due to censorship is queer coding.

The specific meaning of the word is really starting to get lost and it's a pretty important one to keep accurate. It describes a very specific phenomenon that was done repeatedly and maliciously for decades and is meant to examine that specifically.

Doing it on accident sucks, but it isn't a tactic of capitalism intentionally intended to suppress queer representation while making money from queer fans.

Diabetes jokes that feed into 'diabetes comes from being fat' are ONLY funny when said sarcastically by diabetics. If not its harmful as hell and leads to stigma, and misinformation that puts diabetics lives in danger. It's also just blatant fatphobia that is shitty as hell.

It pisses me off SO MUCH, when someones reaction diabetics is something that blames them for having the diseases. For example, the other day I saw a post talking about how much money insulin costs for their t1d son and how much free insulin would help them. I saw multiple responses blaming them for their son having diabetes. Which is just so messed up for a number of reasons.

T1d is NOT causes by unhealthy diet and/or being overweight . It is an autoimmune disorder that is genetic. T2D is also mainly caused by genetic factors. If your response to this is insulin should only be free to T1ds and certain 'good' t2d, you are only making it harder for ALL of us to get insulin.

2. If diabetes was caused by unhealthy eating and being overweight, that doesn't make it the persons who has diabetes fault. Unhealthy eating and being overweight is mostly seen in poverty which largely affects marginalized groups. It can also be caused by disabilities, and eating disorders.

3. Even in the hypothetical that diabetes was caused by unhealthy diets and that was the person who has the diseases fault they STILL deserve access to their medicine and to be treated with respect. Your empathy for someone shouldn't be affected by things like fatphobia and ableism.

Things I love about being audhd+t1d for disability pride.

This year has been rough as shit disability wise so I'm not going to shut up all month about my experiences. /lh

1.Making sarcastic diabetes jokes, like "I got fatass disease." because I like poking fun at misinfo.

2. When my blood sugar is 68 so I haft to have a low snack but I don't feel low. It's just a fun little snack.

3. Screaming at my insulin pump when ever she won't stop alarming me. Her name is Bethany btw. It's a daily occurrence of screaming " SHUT UP, BETHANY" at this point.

4. Reading sickfics during high blood sugar days.

5. Infodumping about my favorite tv shows and current hyperfixations.

6. Finding media with audhd characters and disability rep in general.

7. Playing and singing along to my comfort music. Specifically Elio Mei recently. (stimming)

8. How awesome my insulin pump and cgm look with my outfits.

9. Finding other autistic people with the same special intrests/hyperfixations as me.

10. Making every character I like even just a little diabetic and AUDHD.
