“After the success of past editions, the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art Lorenzo Viani , is pleased to present the third edition of Over The Real - International Festival of Video Art which promises to be a five day (from Wednesday 6 to Sunday 10 December 2017) full of great events.

The event, organized by the City of Viareggio, conceived and curated by Maurizio Marco Tozzi and Lino Strangis, will see the screening of audiovisual works by 35 artists from all over the world (Austria, China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Portugal , Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Hungary, USA) accompanied by moments of performance, interactive installations, workshops and talks” via Sign Magazine

“Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art are open to experimentation and to all kinds of artistic manifestations. So the experiments are welcome, the young and the new points of view are welcome. The International Festival of Video Art is a way of attesting, more and more, how the research lines of the GAMC move through a continuous dialogue, comparison and wide-ranging exchange between the most varied artistic disciplines. Screening work in GENERATE! ° a festival of art determined by interdisciplinary use of electronic media or the use of digital technologies. GENERATE! ° is interested in the reciprocal relations between art, science and technology before their societal policy background. Particular attention is paid to conceptual work, which is devoted to the reflection on generative development processes, their conditions and respective algorithmic outputs.

Intended to create a creative and critical discourse on the aesthetic, socio-political, and economic conditions and impact of media and information technologies of the 21st century.

GENERATE! ° Festival for Electronic Arts takes place for the third time. The three main elements of the festival are an exhibition section, a series of workshops and lectures, as well as a performance program, spread over several locations in Tübingen Germany, each with its own focus.

Sign Language at Ignition Project Space

An interactive public installation exhibited in Chicago throughout July. Installed in a large display window, viewers were encouraged to look through red/cyan 3D glasses fastened to the inside of the window, and by the red and blue footprints in front of the space. Clues were hidden inside the projected image that become visible by looking through the 3D glasses. If the viewer matched the clues to the morse code sequence on the installation title card, the viewer received a gift. Suggested viewing hours were from dusk until dawn.

Phosphene is part of a series of work titled Blind Spot.

Blind Spot is a series addressing the illusory nature of perception.

In the novel Flatland, Square encounters Sphere. As Sphere passes through Flatland, it appears to be a circle that becomes successively larger and smaller. Two-dimensional flatlanders cannot visualize three-dimensional beings but can understand their cross sections.

Physicists theorize a possible dimension of time, imaginary time; a new dimension at right angles to ordinary “real time”. Imaginary time is a concept derived from special relativity. Modes of visual parallax can be seen in the wave-particle duality, quantum mechanics and classical mechanics; turtles all the way down.

Ongoing investigation in the scientific community continues to generate discoveries that suggest “reality” as we know it in three dimensions might be an illusion. Blind Spot manifests invisible imagery through stereoscopic optical illusions, 3D glasses are required to perceive hidden images.

“Suprematism, Constructivism, Futurism: Friction, Destruction, Invention, Vision” is the inaugural group themed exhibition for Phylogeny Contemporary’s permanent Seattle gallery home.  The selected artists

were chosen each for their specific and careful response to the vague and historical query. Several artists’ responses were perfect representations of the period of art history. Others took the challenge to continue the movement to current societal viewpoints of obsolescence and identity. Art created for the purpose social inquiry can communicate and confuse. The perspective is all within the viewer. The answer may even be written neatly next to the work of art to describe the very intention of the work of art. Individual response will be personal. Phylogeny in its definition is the evolution of a concept or idea. Art all chiefly requires the participation of the beholder for full potency. September 16th - 22nd I’ll be exhibiting in Binary Conflict - a group exhibition exploring interrelations between new media art and electronic music. The exhibition presents audio-visual and sound installations as well as video-art section where you will find pure analog glitch-art presented side by side to “post- internet” animations and conceptual pieces.

Arstechne is an international festival for electronic music, art & science. The series of events includes lectures, workshops, exhibitions and electronic music performances. The following edition will take place at 16 of September in Krakow (hosted by Zet Pe Te) admission is free and kid friendly.

Delighted to be screening in OFF THE WALL at Arts + Literature Laboratory on August the 19th at 9pm (2021 Winnebago Street, Madison, WI)

OFF THE WALL is a nighttime, outdoor screening series of contemporary video art presented by Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) and curated by Simone Doing and Max Puchalsky, with support from local media partner Madison Film Forum. This project is funded in part by a grant from the Madison Arts Commission, with additional funds from the Wisconsin Arts Board. Equipment purchases for ALL made possible by Dane Arts. 

Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) creates a welcoming community that nurtures the artistic growth of all visual, literary, and performing artists; fosters relationships among artists and the community; and fuels a passion for the arts and literature.

ALL is a non-profit organization that encourages visual, literary, and performing artists to explore and develop their craft, and provides a supportive and challenging environment in which ideas can be shared. Roman Susan is exhibiting my work in Chicago from July 17 through the end of the month, as a part of the gallery’s annual Streetlight series. Video work is projected every evening after dark starting at 8pm, visible from the street in the Rogers Park neighborhood (near Loyola University). Excited to share news of a public, site specific, interactive installation titled Sign Language at Ignition Project Space in Chicago. On exhibit to the end of June, ideal viewing is from dusk until dawn. This installation revolves around a visual process I have been developing for over three years. Hidden imagery becomes visible to the viewer through 3D glasses. No one (at the time of this posting) has solved the puzzle yet, if you are in the Chicago area, give it a try.

Video! Video! Zine is screening two works at LVL3 gallery in Chicago 

“Video! Video! Zine is devoted to obtaining visibility for moving image makers. Through monthly open calls, we motivate and encourage makers to participate, no matter what skill level or knowledge of moving image. We also hope to inspire through monthly guest curated “5 videos you must see” and interviews of moving image makers who need a spotlight.

By doing this Video! Video! Zine hopes to become an accessible submission-based Internet archive of amazing moving images from around the world.

Objectives:

Provide visibility for moving image makers

Create an accessible platform for people of all educational backgrounds

Never establish a hierarchy in work shown based on gender, color, status, ability etc.

No hierarchy within the site, therefore prizes will never be allotted”

Exhibiting work at the University of North Texas in the Digital Fabrication Symposium

Digital fabrication is the creation of physical objects from digital files utilizing a variety of approaches including 3D printing, lasercutting, and CNC machining. It is being increasingly integrated into a wide range of disciplines and at all levels of education from grade school to higher education. This year's Digital Fabrication Symposium will be hosted at UNT's Willis Library and The Factory and will include a series of workshops, panels, and presentations.

Exhibiting in Glitch Art is Dead at Gamut Gallery

An international artistic project which started in Krakow, Poland in 2015, Glitch Art is Dead kicked off at Teatr Barakah with an exhibit of 30 artists and a day of workshops. Hosted by Gamut Gallery, the 2017 Minneapolis installment will feature an exhibition of more than 90 artists from around the world running March 11th-31st; a three-day weekend of Glitch Art workshops March 17th-19th; and a “Noise Night” exhibit finale on March 31st with performances curated by Alex Kmett.
