1977 perfume ad for pre-Tom Ford Gucci. The house was famed for its interlocking G’s, introduced in the 60s, and its signature red and green stripes. The note was penned by Aldo Gucci, one of the three sons of the original founder.

The boardroom strifes at Gucci in the 80s were legendary — Maurizio, the nephew of Aldo, dismissed his uncle to take over the company. Aldo served a term in jail for tax evasion. Maurizio was murdered in the mid-90s, apparently by killers hired by his ex-wife. Someone should make a movie.

The Nor-coc company really worked with the best artists in the 1930’s. The posters were designed by István Irsai (Ir-shay), and slogans are known from the famous poet Attila József.
