Tol: is that my shirt
Smol, wearing a shirt that goes down to their knees: ... no
mczenrath:
While it was true, such a feat would normally involve a catch of some sort, it wasn’t much of a problem if she was planning an extended stay. All he did was manipulate her current fabrics, while adding a few rosy pigments & his own flair. The truth was, it was merely an illusion based spell. Most of the newer pieces (like her necklace) was actually enchanted sand. As soon as she was far enough away from him, only then would his mirage slip. The sorcerer levitated his own cloud of dark sand & sent it before Sadira. Once he clenched his fist, there was a spark of bright light which left behind a clean, new mirror. It floated in front of her, proudly reflecting her appearance. Seeing how much she appreciated the “gift” actually made him feel good about himself… for once. It was a strange, warm stirring in the pit of his stomach that forced a genuine smile out of him. It was almost uncomfortable. Biting the edge of his bottom lip, Mozenrath looked away for a moment. Imagine if her new clothes were real. If she liked this, he couldn’t wait to bring home tangible outfits that she could choose from each day. Quickly shaking his head of the idea, he chuckled apprehensively. “Don’t be thanking me yet. I’m no GENIE… they’ll fade away the moment we’re far from each other. Your previous clothes are all still there, underneath the spell… we just can’t see that for the time being. Anyway, that doesn’t matter, just… I’m glad you like it.” Facing away from her, he started back towards the stairs, but added: “You do look lovely in that color."
She was enchanted by her reflection - carefully taking hold of the frame of the floating mirror, bringing it closer to see the headpiece, the necklace - how the happiness from pleasant surprise radiated from her, how genuine smile could make anyone look attractive - had she ever felt this beautiful, like a princess? She barely had her eyes off herself.
❝ I barely can tell it’s just an illusion... it feels all so real. ❞ The necklace underneath her fingertips felt like solid stones and metal - the fabrics light, soft and clean. If she wasn’t told, she would believe it all being real. If this was a dream in awakening world, she didn’t want to wake up - well, she wouldn’t need to, as she planned to stay.
Upon hearing the color fitting her - she gazes at the rosy sleeves before looking at her face again. Color she barely ever had chance to wear, yet which brought warmth to her cool toned hair and eyes. She surely had missed out a lot.
❝ You think? I didn’t know I could look... like this. Maybe it is my color. Just like blue is yours. ❞ she finally lets go of the mirror, looking over at him - there was no denying Aladdin had a friend just as good looking - how suddenly he seemed much more gentle than upon meeting him back in Agrabah. Truly, the first impression had failed her. Yet each time she looks at herself - like staring at a dream version of her, there is a twitch on the corner of her mouth, a deep sigh as she went through multiple feelings at once. Quickly sweeping her eye, she seems to get over with it - or just good at hiding the more sentimental side of her. Yet, she wanted to be honest about her gratitude. ❝ Real or not... it makes me very happy. When I was a child I made two wishes. One to see myself as a rich and... second living in a palace even for a day. I suppose it’s two by one strike now. ❞
witches: desert
“i will show you fear in a handful of dust.”
It was different to the deserts Sadira hailed from. But she knew, it was the right where she needed to be: the place resembled the imaginary she had seen in the spell brought dream, what had seemed like a land on clouds! Had she formerly been obsessed by the very reason she had arrived there - it was now forgotten, at least for a while. What had completely caught her interest, was the striking difference of the land. Cupping her hands to catch the delicate flakes, slowly floating down from the sky.
❝ It looks like sand from far... but cold... water?❞ Her brows lifted at her chilled hands, now holding mere drops of water, what formerly were snowflakes, so ornate and symmetric shapes - all so different. ❝ If I could hold it little longer. ❞ || @ahtohallanfound

mczenrath:
“Well… you should know, that while living in a palace, it’s more fitting to look the part.” He eyed her patchwork of clothing once more, a heavy brow arching at the faded fabrics. Again, he reminded himself she didn’t have any other choice. She had been living the street life up until now. It wasn’t as if she had any income or a husband, to provide for her. Regardless, she wouldn’t need currency while living at the citadel. If the witch of the sand needed something, all she had to do was ask. Waving his hand a few times in the air, it started to glow blue. Suddenly he pointed, sending the energy hurtling towards her. Once it made contact, her wardrobe shifted & changed on her body. Rosy silks replaced her rags & her once bare neck was now decorated with rubies. There was a matching set on a band in her warm, brown hair. Her bare feet were now covered in royal slippers. “There… that should do it.” He was actually quite proud of his handiwork. Richer materials were far more befitting of Sadira. Those hand-me-downs did her no justice. She was actually quite lovely. When a slight breeze caught her tresses in a dance around her shoulders, Mozenrath forced himself to look away. That was… strange. Did his heart just skip a beat? “Would you… like a mirror?”
Sadira looked down at the rags covering her body. The messy hair and patched clothes reflected the unfortunate life lived. A streetrat would always be a street rat - and treated like it, there was nothing beautiful about the lifestyle she had to lived. While she always dreamed of better, she was used to the fact luxury like clothes weren’t the top priority in her life, nor something ever to achieve. Such things didn’t keep her alive like a food. Since clothes were either a commission or made by the user themselves, stealing anything fitting wasn’t easy either. If she did manage to find an article, it would get quickly worn and dirty, similar rags she already wore in the rough streetlife. That being the very reason she even avoided wearing the tidy robes too often. Bewitching anything required rare ingredients to trade for a spell - which often wasn’t anything permanent.
❝ But... ❞ She sighed with a heavy shrug, shaking her head in disappointment. She had been content with her fate, now it seemed she was genuinely upset about the situation. ❝ It’s all I have now... I didn’t really- ❞ Before finishing, eyes closed instinctively; like a cool breeze against her skin, the dusty and worn fabrics felt lighter and smoother. Indeed, her eyes didn’t betray either. Staring down at her feet, her legs, her hands, arms and shoulders, she was veiled by something alike princess Jasmine could have worn. Delight soon overtook the confusion which first painted her face. She moved around to see every angle of her new appearance, excluding her face she couldn’t see but feel.
❝ Oh, yes! But... H-how did you do it... You just... did it. I can’t do it without trade and it’s never permanent... ❞ He didn’t seem to use any substitute to turn into fabrics - all Sadira witnessed, was him creating them just like that. ❝ I’ve never bought any outfits, nor ever could steal something like this... Or gotten gifts, really. So uh. Thank you. But, I going to turn back after I sleep or something? ❞
Imagine when Sadira finally would have discovered an ultimate tool for an ultimate scheme to get what she very first desired: the first love, which she puts so much unnecessary pressure to - because it was such a strong memory with strong emotions involved. Feelings towards him may not be real anymore - it remained more like an obsession, a goal to achieve.
But then she recalls time she has spent in the citadel and what really matters in her life, who really is part of it now and how she wouldn’t want to let go what she currently has. What love really is - not always manifesting in strong emotions like that but in companionship and bond. AND THEN, she throws that plan away, because she finally realizes she doesn’t want that anymore. What she really wants is to stay, in the land of darkness. Confessing that.
