Diagnosed Autistics can be forcibly institutionalized and subject to torture in the name of "treatment".

Historically, the Nazis would sort Autistic children into groups to be either "re-educated" or murdered.

Now, RFK Jr wants to create a "national autism registry".

Not only are diagnoses extremely difficult to obtain depending on your race, gender, where you live etc, they can put you in danger if the wrong person finds out about them. Autistics have valid reasons for not wanting their autism on official record. We are still an actively persecuted minority group.

just because you don't personally need tone tags/tone indicators doesn't make them 'stupid' , infantilizing, ableist or "making us (autistic people) look 'bad' "

why do y'all think that things that some autistic people need is infantilizing . "we understand sarcasm" well some of us don't and find tone tags useful. You can't erase other autistic people because you somehow think we 'make you look bad' ..man do y'all really not want certain autistic people in the 'autistic community' do you?

this goes for a lot of other things too , honest like some autistic people struggle with more ..how is it ableist to you for people to bring them up..? we exist , why do you want to erase our existence just because you don't struggle with those things..

Minor-identifying headmates should have all the same rights as any other adult-bodied individuals.

The idea that some headmates can't consent because of the age they internally identify by is rooted in the same ableism that tries to argue people with intellectual disabilities can't consent.

This is not an issue with merit on both sides because system rights should not be a debate, and systems having equal rights regardless of how they identify internally should not be something to compromise on.

People who would seek to limit the rights of other systems are not only unsafe to be in the system community, but also other mental health communities.

I just got yelled at for speaking quietly while having an asthma attack and having JUST used my inhaler in front of the guy.

to all those self-righteous YouTubers out there making those "fake disorder cringe" videos that target neurodivergent and mentally ill people who are just openly sharing their experiences to help others who can relate feel less alone - cut it out with your ableist bullshit. just because someone isn't masking their autism, PTSD, DID or whatever 24/7 & happening to post about it online, that DOES NOT mean they're "faking" or doing it for attention. who the hell are you to police how people should or shouldn't discuss very real struggles they face every damn day? your accusations only spread stigma & discourage people from getting the support they need. maybe take some time to educate yourselves on neurodiversity, mental health & how much harm this "fake claiming" does before attacking vulnerable communities for surviving & existing publicly in their own way. check your ableism at the door.

& to the ableists telling autistics they shouldn't feel comfortable filming their stims or stimming openly in public because it's somehow "embarrassing" - screw that noise. if posting joyful videos of our stims & telling our stories helps us feel pride in our identity, then we'll do it unapologetically. stimming is natural & necessary for our wellbeing, so we'll do it where & how we want without permission or regard for neurotypical sensibilities. our existence is not up for other people's approval.
