Time Won’t Let Me Go / The Bravery
Seperate Ways | Tegan & Asher
He really shouldn’t let too much of his inner monologue shine through the things he did and said. Or take someone he barely knew to one of his favourite places, where he would actually find a little bit of peace and rest when he wasn’t able to sleep. Slightly suprised to hear her speaking again, he flashed her a small smile and gave her a nod. “Follow me, madame.” They wouldn’t need any money for the thing he had in mind. At least he himself never spent money on it, although it was kind of illegal. Asher did a lot of things that weren’t too legal. Low key things like not paying enough whenever he was about to leave a bar or a restaurant. But he made up for it, whenever he would pay too much. Simply reaching into his pocket, since he rarely had money inside his wallet, and taking what was there, putting it onto the bar or the table. Getting up and leaving. Money didn’t mean a lot to him, never had, ironically. Sometimes he would steal things from public places, simply to test if he would get in trouble. But his luck was striking whenever he wished it would disappear for a little while. Because it wasn’t always fun. Sometimes the part of being caught was what offered him amusement and entertainment. He was leading the way, looking back at the blonde every once in a while, before they reached the stairs, down to the subway station. “Let’s go, Tegs.” Was he even allowed to call her that? Was that even a real nickname for her? He didn’t mind, all the heavy thoughts from before forgotten, he walked down the stairs before jumping over a barrier, not getting a ticket. There was no need for him to do so.
Tegs. She hadn't heard that nickname for quite a long time. As she followed a bit behind him she smiled, liking the thought of the nickname. Her name was not one of her favorite things about herself, and the only nickname people would give her was 'T', and besides that the last person to actually call her Tegs was probably someone in high school. She jumped over the barrier, following him into the subway station. She grinned, her eyebrows starting to rise. "Was that even legal?" She wasn't exactly a law-breaker, but she wasn't the type to abide to rules either. As long as there was a sense of adventure to whatever she was doing, she didn't really pay much attention to rules. She was willing to follow Asher wherever he took her, mostly because there was a part of her that truly wanted to know him. If she was being truly honest, she'd never really taken the time to actually know a person like Asher. She'd met a few 'people of little words', and he was honestly the first of these quiet people to give her the time of day. Maybe it's because she wasn't too quiet herself that only socially outgoing people associated themselves with her more, but all she knew was that Asher intrigued her. This - going around town, passing through barriers at subway stations - was a sign of him somewhat opening up to her in her eyes, and she was going to take that chance the moment it landed on her doorstep. She followed closely behind him, glancing around the semi-familar subway station. She hadn't been to this station too many times, so she made sure to stick close to him. "Where are we headed to?"
Road Trip || Logan & Tegan
He was honestly exhausted by now, having driven two hours already. But he didn’t care, really, not when he was on his bike. It wasn’t like he ever had to stop and refill the gas, or give it a break, or worry about something stealing it or getting in his way. He was lucky enough to be a witch, after all (though sometimes it was more of a curse than a blessing), and that meant he could spell almost whatever the hell he wanted whenever the hell he wanted. It was a pretty damned nice life. He was driving down now, almost in a different world as he sang quite loudly along to the country that was on the radio. When he noted a smaller, female figure standing towards the end of the road, with her thumb thrust in the air. Now normally, he wasn’t one to pick up hitchhikers. But when they were cute, well, he had a different opinion. With a little smirk on his lips, he slowed down and pulled up next to her, pushing his fingers through his hair and meeting her gaze. “Heh.” He shook his head, smiling idly. “Well, that’s a damn shame,” he drawled. “Where’re you headed there?” If she was heading the same way then by all means, he might as well let her come along for the ride, so long as she didn’t mind that it would be a very bumpy one.
Tegan smiled at him, running her hand through her hair and looking down the road to her left. She looked back at the guy, lifting up a red gallon tank. "If you could just give me a lift to the next gas station and back to my car, I'd owe you big time." Tegan was never really the type to ask people for favors, whether it was a stranger or a close friend. She liked to do things on her own, but when you're stranded out in the middle of nowhere...well, it's time to put your own personal shit aside to just suck it up and get help. Even if that meant riding a bike to a gas station. She bit her lip. "I've never ridden a motorcycle before, so..."
Scared? Pfft. || Caradoc & Tegan
The boy nodded at her with a chuckle, actually surprised about how forward she was towards his suggestion. It wasn’t that he didn’t like such thing—he just had the feeling Tegan enjoyed showing others that she could take a challenge. He was probably wrong, though. After all, he was incredibly bad at predicting the behavior of others. “Alright” The mutant hummed, following her while his view reflected the distorted house. His fingers gripped his drink tightly; a sigh escaping from his nostrils in a sharp method as he parted his lips. In all honesty, Caradoc disliked Halloween themed things; he tended to be absolutely paranoid about them and preferred to not cross them. Nevertheless, there he was, performing an action that didn’t cross his mind in a mere beginning.
Oh god. The regret in her stupidly pride-based decision to go in this haunted house was beginning to kick in. The duo started walking down the dark corridors, and all the muscles in her body were tense in anticipation of scary things popping out of nowhere. As they walked a ghost-puppet type of prop dropped down from the ceiling abruptly, and Tegan jumped at bit at the surprise. But she was overall inwardly relieved, starting to think that this haunted house wasn't going to be one of the intense ones. She laughed nervously, gently nudging Caradoc with her elbow. "This haunted house isn't all that ba-"
In mid-sentence, a man that had apparently worn makeup to blend in with the wall jumped out at them, letting out a yell. Tegan shrieked and grabbed Caradoc's arm instinctively. She quickly let go shook her head. "My bad. That guy just...surprised me. Y'know. No biggie."
PSA - semi-hiatus
Alright, so as some of you might have noticed I've been pretty much not doing responses. At all, really. xD And that's because at first, school was all breezy and cute and completely not intimidating at all, and WELP the past week has been stress up my ass and it wasn't too fun. Plus there's the whole entire college search thing happening, and a bunch of people in yearbook class being all up in my space because I'm not doing everything as perfect as their stupidly caked makeup faces AND I JUST.
Ugh. Okay well basically, even though I do have all this shit going down I do have free time to tumblr - but most of the time I'm too drained or uninspired to really write. I mean, once every couple of days I'll have the inspiration to get some responses in but besides that....yeah, not really.
Seriously, I love all you guys to pieces but yeah I want to make it official that I am going to be on a semi-hiatus, and I'll probably be getting to responses only a few times a week, max. I only have like two threads anyway (maybe three? Idk, if there's a third one it's lost somewhere), so it shouldn't be too bad. And honestly if you still want to plot or start a thread I'm a hundred percent down - just be prepared for snail-rate responses. Also, keep in mind that while I'm gonna be awol for a while I'm definitely gonna lurk because you're all fantastic and I love reading threads and whatnot, so if you still want to talk to me I should be checking my messages box daily!
Anyways, I love you guys and thanks! I don't know when I'll officially be coming back...at this rate I think not until some kind of school break like Thanksgiving or Christmas...but hopefully it's sooner than that. xD Thanks for reading this, thanks for dealing with me and my lack of activity, ya'll are the bee's knees and just ily times a billion.
---
EDIT: I'm sure you guys have noticed at this point, semi-hiatus has turned to complete hiatus aha. If you need to contact me for whatever reason, here's one of my main blogs, and here's the other one. Thanks, toodle-oo~~
Ughhhh I just got back home from shooting a football game, and I have so much homework to do and my eyes are already burning from sleep deprivation help
We'll Be Okay || Tegan and Jacob
And then the walls were gone. Crumbled to debris that scattered along the floor that once stood so strong. These walls guarded his mind, the ones he often built up at times such as these. These walls blocked out reality and filled his being with false hope and possibilities, when indeed there was nothing but the truth in front of him. And the truth was the blonde in front of him who suddenly looked different to him. Her usual perky spirit was dimmed, along with the shade to her face.Simply things he ignored before were unavoidable now. Her words were ones he had heard before many years ago, and even then he couldn’t accept them. How could you accept something like that? “No,” he protested, shaking his head profusely, avoiding the stinging of his eyes. He jerked his hand away feeling the mixed emotions course through him. It was coming, and he knew it. It was coming, and he couldn’t stop it. He yanked his hand away from her, and continued to shake his head. “No, we don’t have to go anywhere because you’re fine. You’re great. You’re better.”
And now, they entered uncharted territory. When people were at any far point of a spectrum of emotion that she hadn't witnessed before, she was never really sure of how to react. This especially applied to Jacob, since she'd known him so well and for so long that entering uncharted emotional territory was even more unsettling. She was only able to stare at him blankly, listening to the words he spoke that practically contradicted what she'd just told him. For a split second, she even contemplated feeding into his denial and stretching the fake smiles on for even longer. But instead she just shook her head, "Jacob, I'm not. As of now I'm not getting better, but there's a chance that I eventually will. I'm really high on the donor priority list, and everything's gonna be alright." Maybe. Probably not.
Road Trip || Logan & Tegan
With her arm outstretched and her hand held in a loose and unenthusiastic thumbs up, Tegan stood on the side of the road and cursed at every car that passed her by. She was in the middle of moving from Phoenix to San Francisco and ran out of gas, so now she was stranded in the desert about twenty miles from the nearest gas station. As minutes turned to about an hour or more, she took up different positions to lean against her car, sang a few show tunes to herself and drew a couple words on the desert sand off the road. She'd seen around ten cars and a billion big rigs during this time and none seemed to even acknowledge her existence. After about ten minutes of not catching sight of any vehicles she finally saw another one, throwing her hitchhiker thumb back up in the air. This one was definitely starting to slow down...but as it came closer, she realized it was a guy on a motorcycle. Of course, the only vehicle that stopped for her was a motorcycle. She was thankful someone pulled over before she died of a heat stroke, but it just wasn't exactly what she had in mind. She watched the guy start to pull up by her car and resisted the urge to make any faces as the bike. "Thanks for stopping, I've been standing out here for ages." She gave him a small smile, scrunching her nose. "Ran out of gas."
Merry munday, I realized I never posted one of these and my hair was nice yesterday sooo. Yerp~
And I will hang my head,
Hang my head low.
Scared? Pfft. || Caradoc & Tegan
Caradoc frowned, shaking his head. “I’m with the times, yo. But being a gentleman should be a forever-lasting thing, not just somethin’ that appeared back in the forties” He laughed, walking with her as he spun the drink’s recipient around his fingers. Hearing the sound of ice splashing against the fluid contained inside, he looked up, glancing at the way a bunch of kids ran down the path with a frightened expression across their faces. “Well—” The mutant gulped; orbs reflecting the not-so-distant haunted house as he shook his head in order to articulate words. In all his years of going to the same carnivals and fairs, he had to admit that such attraction was one he didn’t visit at all. He put excuses such as describing that attraction as ‘boring’ or ‘not to appealing’ yet, in reality, he was deeply frightened towards scary movies and anything related to such definition. Nevertheless, he tried his best to act collected; a smirk passing through his features as he spoke. “Wanna go?” He asked. Probably, if he was with company, the whole thing would be less traumatic. “You say it ain’t scary after all, so we got nothin’ to lose”
And in that moment, Tegan's fearless facade faltered for a split second. He couldn't see her face drop, since she was facing toward the haunted house and not him, but the thought of actually going in that place wasn't exactly what she had in mind. She quickly brought the fearless and playful expression back to her features, her pride already starting to kick in. That pride always got her into stupid messes and ended with her making a complete fool out of herself, but hell - in her mind, that was better than chickening out on any day. And even then, it ended up being a cool story to tell later on. She turned towards Caradoc, grinning at him. "Damn straight. Alright, let's go." They started heading towards the haunted house, and at the open entrance she practically had to force her legs to move forward, walking into a place where she knew she would have to live up to her personal challenge of not jumping or screaming.
