"It made me really fucking angry! You know I get three hours of sunlight per day! Every day, three hours! And you are arguing about one hour! Guess what time it is! Look around!" Oskaar gestures to the darkness around him. "It's a beautiful day! In sunny Reykjavík at..." He comes closer to the camera to show his watch. "... Twenty minutes past three o'clock!"
The video cuts back to Oskaar standing where he was before. As he begins to say "Now, I have..." the camera falls backwards. The video cuts to Oskaar putting the camera back up, face very close as he says something unintelligible, possibly in Icelandic, and then, "I'm sorry Dave! My camera is broken!" He backs up and resumes speaking. "I have to sit for two hours in front of ultraviolent light! That's so - that's to help my mind and my skins from being healthy! I drink this - Lysi, do you know what Lysi is? Oil from fish. I drink fish shits two times per day. This stops me from being funny in the head! It's called - it's called..." Oskaar trails off and looks around him into the darkness.
The video cuts to Oskaar looking back at the camera. "Hey there. Dave! I want you to do this for me. I want you to show everybody in your ‘stilly’ [silly] city some things that I do in my life. I'll take you for a journey, come with me." The video cuts to a light shining into darkness with Oskaar's voice from behind the camera. "Uh, this is what I do every day after I come home from work! I take my dog for a walk in this beautiful park here!" Nothing in the video can be seen beyond the single light in the darkness. "Can you see? No, you can't, because it's fucking too dark! Hey! You haven't seen my dog, have you? Stallone - like the cliffhanger movies. Stallone - hang on. Stallone! Sta-llone!"
The video cuts once more to Oskaar sitting on a bench outside. It is still pitch black around him. As the camera begins to fall backwards again, Oskaar says "Oh shit -". The video cuts again to Oskaar carrying the camera close to his face, saying "Now I'm going to go on a journey to one of our famous beaches here in Iceland." He suddenly looks down and makes a disgusted face. "Ah! Fucking dogshit -" The video cuts to Oskaar jumping up and down, waving his arms in front of a beach. It is still dark outside. Oskaar yells "I'm at my Icelandic beach! Hey, Dave, let's come and have a swim with me!" Oskaar frantically takes off his shoes and runs over to the water. He dips a toe into the water and quickly hops back to the camera, yelling "I won't swim in that if you paid me fucking million dollars!”
He continues, “If I could have your hour I would rip it from your - your hands before you!" Oskaar stoops down in front of the camera and shakes a fist. "Be heroes! You all, be heroes! Save, save your daylight! Save it! Don't let it run away in front of your face!. He pleads, “Think about me, Dave. Tell your friends - Dave!" The video footage begins glitching out. Oskaar exclaims "The fucking battery! Stallone! Come here now, you stupid dog!" Text over a black screen reads "... and I never did see Stallone". End video description.]
Today's seabird* is the roseate spoonbill (Platalea ajaja). They are wading birds of the Americas known for their oddly shaped bills. They feed by using their bills to stir up the sediment at the bottom of freshwater or coasts, unearthing buried animals who are then eaten. They aren't born pink, the color comes from pigments found in their food and their diets can determine how pink they are.
