Rapunzel, Cinderella, Quasimodo and Snow White: They literally abused us from childhood and isolated us and tried to either rip us away from happiness when it came or tried to kill us.

Mulan: He literally tried invading the entire country of China?! And almost SUCCEEDED?!

Aurora: She literally is the reason why I couldn't grow up with my family? And tried killing me and Phillip?!

Jasmine: He tried to marry me WHEN I WAS FIFTEEN AND MADE ME INTO A SLAVE! And then tried to kill me while deciding to have ultimate power to rule everything!

Esmeralda: He burnt down places in Paris just because of his obsession with me and that was after he got all touchy with me, let alone when he tried to make me choose either death or him!

Ariel: Look at all those souls she trapped! And that was before she preyed on me for my deal and then tried to take over with the Trident and tried to kill me and Eric!

Carlos, if they allowed him to have his D1 memories and character: YOU KNOW MY MOTHER ABUSED ME?! AND IS CLEARLY INSANE AND WOULD WANT REVENGE ON EVERYONE?!

queen of mean is SO dramatic what the fuck this is my first time hearing it and a part of the chorus is “i never thought of myself as mean” you were deadass a bully before the vks even showed up you are absolutely bonkers the reason you have no friends after they show up is because they don’t have to kiss your ass anymore and aren’t letting you pick on them?? baby mal is only the root of some of your problems

Lonnie’s plot in D2 keeps falling apart anyway, but it falls more apart when you realize its in a kingdom full of princesses who have suffered sexism themselves, and wouldn’t want the kingdom to keep running on it.  Like, they suggesting sports were gendered when Mulan and Merida prove girls can do anything a boy can, let alone princesses like Jasmine who had to deal with people acting like she’s a object, and Tiana had to work hard for her restaurant (though that also fell into racism, which uh….descendants ain’t gonna tackle, since they themselves have issues with that).  And then you got the princesses films with hints to those society’s views on woman- aka Ursula saying to Ariel what men expect of woman, betrothal being the norm in sleeping beauty even when she doesn’t like it, Snow White was treated very weirdly by the dwarf’s at first and while Cinderella is mostly a story of escaping abuse (which uh, descendants also fucked up that message, so…), there’s still that singing line anyway, “Leave the sewing to the woman!”

And then you got the princess films who kinda mock the idea of well, being a princess: Moana obviously has the scene of a stereotypical princess, Frozen has the whole mocking of you cant marry a man you just met and….honestly, Tangled may be the only good one to mock some stuff but also embrace others, and did comment on how female knights are treated via Cass in the tv series.

And then you got the biggest factor in why this plot makes no sense: Belle. Belle was queen of Auradon, and somehow, stuff like gendered sports was allowed past her, when Belle in her film literally has to deal with a sexist villain who sees woman as nothing but objects and before anyone suggests Beast, Beast in film is established as loving Belle for her mind as well as her beauty, and is established as the polar opposite of Gaston, as he respects Belle enough to let go of his own needs so she can go and find her father, while Gaston sees Belle as a prize to be won and throughout the film, says its not right for a woman to read.

Like, to put all these characters in Auradon and suggest gendered rules exist is very uh, odd to do….almost very character assassination to some of them, even. And a little amusing, given uh, Lonnie’s entire arc literally is ‘fixed’ by a man at the end, but she says wait until her mom hears about this….like, uh, yeah, she’ll love to hear how stupid Auradon is, and how this arc went….

This one scene about Mal always pissed me off

D2 Back to Auradon (This a fragment of a larger essay post about Mal pt 2 to the first part already posted) 

This…. This is where this bitch really ended up pissing me off because of how it made Ben look to people later on. As soon as they got back to Auradon he immediately asks her what she plans to do, should he cancel cotillion etc etc. She just stands there pouting and like a damn child, not a teenager who was just fighting bitches on the Isle and swore up and down she was going to take it back but a literal child pouting and couldn’t answer a simple question of whether or not she wanted to cancel cotillion after she dumped him. Why was this a problem because had the whole fight with Uma not went down and she became ‘the defender’ and that took over the spotlight it made him look like an asshole. Like his beloved girlfriend Mal had been working so hard to become a royal and he decides to Humiliate her by dumping her by bringing another girl by having her become his Lady instead of Mal. Situation sounds real familiar doesn’t it,  at least they had the gall to be mad this time but I recall them cheering when he did this to Audrey (I’m looking at you specifically Lonnie) Mal wasn’t helping by not making it clear as soon as she got there that they were separated, why? Because she thought she could just switch her mind back with no prior conversation with Ben, “Yeah I dumped him but now I changed my mind and he’ll take me back”. Nobody would’ve had the right to be angry with him if he brought Uma after him and Mal were broken up. It definitely wasn’t helping that Mal got all teary eyed and sad and started asking her EX BOYFRIEND about why he and Uma were together. I didn’t feel bad for her at all because he TRIED to talk to her as soon as they got back and she refused and went and talked with Evie, carlos and Jay instead never mentioning that she had broken up with Ben and that she was to blame for most of their fight while they were encouraging her to go and that if Ben doesn’t love her for her he’s not the one. I’d be concerned if Ben did love her with her feeling like she has the right to disrespect him over and over. The main problem here is BEN, everyone just took Mal’s side without even thinking over the situation and that made zero sense to me. HE is the one they grew up with, he’s the one who brought the girl you’re all dick riding there. It made no sense why they would all including his parents side with the girl who just six months ago admitted that she was plotting against them and not Ben. Thanks descendants once again proving how Ben’s only existence was to be Mal’s bitch. None of his kindness, his dreams, his work and his motivations and the things he did for others mattered. Ben should’ve considered getting a whole new group of friends after that AKS and VKS alike because I couldn’t continue to associate with people who only would support me if I was dating the person who drugged me and abused my trust. Also the fact that I’m supposed to be the King and ultimate ruler of Auradon and of my people would refuse to listen to me in favor of my at the time ex girlfriend (Spelled or not, the fact that they didn’t listen to him and would’ve listen to Mal is problematic) So many of them were wrong in that situation not because of a misunderstanding but simply because that shouldn’t have been their reactions period. Carlos’s first reaction to Ben dating someone other than Mal shouldn’t have been to regret risking his life to save his because Ben was still his friend. Ben’s own parents should’ve at least stood by him but instead they stood with Mal and were even going to try to talk to him about it. Where was this energy when Ben broke up with Audrey Beast and Belle??? If I recalled correctly Belle you decided to insult a 16 year old girl instead of ‘talking to him’ about it. It didn’t matter the setting or that the situation was misunderstanding because if that misunderstanding was true this is how they would act.  Just for this one scene fuck all of them, Ben deserves better.

Disney Fan 1: I can see that Belle and Adam being the most wonderful parents

Disney Fan3: Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora would raise the most kindest people.

Disney Fan4: What about the children that already exist like Melody and Zephyr.

- All the Aks (with exceptions) spolied little brats who are stereotypes from poorly written high school teen drama movies with little or no personality.

( -Belle and Beast are hardly recognizable and locked innocent children in a prison with the worst humans on earth (and verbally and emotionally abusive towards their son)

- Aurora and Phillip let Queen Leah (also written out of character) verbally abuse their daughter and wanted their daughter to marry Ben (EVEN THOUGH THROUGHOUT SLEEPING BEAUTY THEY ARE HYPOCRITICAL AND DIDN'T WANT TO MARRY WHO THEY WERE IRONICALLY ARRANGED TO MARRY AND HAVE A KINGDOM OF THEIR OWN)

- Cinderella and Prince Charming raised the most irritating and misogynistic little b*tch on earth and let her step nieces and nephews be with the household that she miraculously escaped from leaving them behind.

- Snow White and Prince Florian let the Evil Queen raise Evie and like Cinderella let her extended stepfamily be in that abusive household.

- Aladdin and Jasmine

- Tiana and Naveen

- Rapunzel and Eugene

- Anna and Kristoff

- Pocahontas and John Smith

- Alice

- Wendy Darling

- And many others

Their kids are background characters with no screen time and no exploration, have none, or not even mentioned.

I just realized something if the other two Cinderella movies are canon in the Descendants universe why is Anastasia on the island !! Wasn't she redeemed in the last two movies. Cinderella wouldn't let Anastasia be put on the island, and would still hope for the chance that Drizella could still be redeemed.

Nor would she let Drizella and Lady Tremaine raise children considered if she was true to her character, she wouldn't never let another person go through that abusive household, I imagine she would taken in Dizzy and Anthony Tremaine as her own children.

Or at least send them fresh food and supplies, rather than garbage, since through the movies it's clear that she still cared for her stepsisters even if they were mean to her.
