Spike intro
It took Connor a moment of looking at the man to place him. He had only met Spike a couple times in passing when his memories were hidden from him. "Sorry, are you, Spike? I think that's the right name. Only met you once or twice for like 2 minutes so, sorry if I got it wrong." @displacedmuser
Spike looked the other man over. He couldn't quite place him, but he seemed to know him "I am Spike, yeah, when did we meet?" He asks, he hadn't planned on making it clear he didn't remember him, but his mouth just kept running. "When you've been around as long as I have, not everything clicks straight away."
"I would love that, yes! Thank you." Zed smiled. "Wait...is it just me or do we look alike? Like, we could be twins." Zed admitted with a slight frown. "Wow. I'm gonna be playing with myself! Does that mean you are just as good at football as myself or no?"
Wally took a moment looking at the other guy, other than the green hair and lighter complexion than his, he wasn't wrong, they looked very similar. "I see what you mean, that's kind of wild man," He tossed the ball between his hands, thinking. "I am decent at football, yeah, though I don't really play much anymore. I don't think we're the same person, unless that happens here, my name's Wally."
While the hug caught him off guard, it wasn't an unwelcome surprise. He appreciated it. He had also come to notice it was much more common in this era. "Yes, I would appreciate that." He nodded as he pulled away from the embrace. "I would love to see the family. And how are you, Penelope?" He paused for a moment. "Are you and Colin living together?"
Penelope stepped back with a warm smile "I'll let them know, those I know are here at least, it is rather strange how long some have been here before I have seen them. This city is very large." She found it hard being here, not knowing who she knew from her life was around. Finding out they had been there for months or years before she bumped into them had been a jarring experience. "Oh no, we are not living together, but we do spend time at each other's homes. quite frequently"
maeve & gendry baratheon @displacedmuser
"alright, i'm done closing up. you can stick around if you want. i'm just doing inventory at this point." maeve told the other sitting across the bar from them. the rest of the crowd having already been cleared out. "or you can help make this go by so much faster." they added while holding up one of the clipboards of items.
Gendry downed the last bit of his drink, smiling at her as he placed the glass on the bar, "Oh, sorry, I was a bit in my own world", he looked around at the empty room. "I'll gladly help you. Let me know what I need to do." He said as he took the clipboard from her.

"tab!" he called out, rushing after his daughter. rupert paused, shaking his head when he spotted her next to someone that he didn't recognize. he walked up to them, brows drawn down in confusion. "sorry about her. she usually doesn't just run up to random strangers." he explained, offering taggie a small smile.
She heard his voice before she saw him, and at first she had thought he said her name. She soon realised he was referring to the girl beside her and, in fact, seemed to hold no recognition of who she was at all. Taggie swallowed lightly, trying not to let her emotions reach her face as she smiled at him politely as she could. "Oh, it's fine, honestly, she's precious", she replied gently, looking down at the unfamiliar girl. She had never met Rupert's children; she had known their names, which solidified that this must be the Rupert she knew, but he didn't seem to know her. "You should do as your father says, though, you never know with some people; it's not safe to run up to someone you don't know."
"I know they use it in acting, but I meant like in real life. Plus, the production team create it all by themselves, isn't it?" Mina asks with a frown. "I was actually looking for some fake or non lethal ones to make a small theater to my students. I'm a teacher."
"Varies depending on if there is impact with the other actor, I suppose sometimes they like there to be the weight of a real sword. Not always produce a lot of things they do, but there are things they will outsource. Especially depending on the size of the production," he took a moment "What age are they? If you want lighter swords, we can make them that way."
"What do you mean by a while?" Charley asked curiously, giving a nod. "Well, a couple of months, and it was a huge shocker for me. I had a panic attack, but this really nice woman I met helped me off a ledge and didn't think I was insane."
"Two and a half years now I've been here, trying to figure life out. I found Maddie recently, which makes things better." Wally nodded; he remembered the adjustment not only to being alive but also to actually living in the world; they saw change, but in a contained area. "I'm not surprised, man, that shit is wild, suddenly being alive again. real shock to the system, you getting more used to it?"
willow glanced around, sure that this strange man was talking to someone else and not her. when she didn't see anyone else, she looked back at him again, her brows drawn downward in confusion. "sorry, uhm, i think you have me confused with someone else. my name is willow, not red."
This was the second time he had bumped into someone he knew, or thought he knew, and found he didn't know who he was. He had been so happy seeing the witch, he thought it would be one of the few semi-decent interactions if she remembered as much as him. "Ah, sorry, you look like someone I know. Sorry for the confusion, Willow. "
@displacedmuser Anthony & Penelope
"Penelope, you're here too." He was glad to see her, he almost thought of her as a younger sister. After all, she was in his home so often. "Do you know how we got here, or where the rest of my family is?"
"Anthony!" Penelope stopped in surprise, caught between hugging him, something that had become more acceptable in this time and felt like a reaction to Anthony that may have been normal had things been different in their time. "Oh, many of us are here", She smiled, "Should I let them know you are here, they would be so happy. Colin will either be studying or maybe back at the apartment."
"I see, so the saint you mention is a big deal with Ireland? Are you supposed to drink, or is that something America decided they wanted to do?" Judith asked curiously. "I see, okay, cool. I've never been, but I also don't know much about it, I don't know much about any of the world, if I'm being honest."
"I mean, it used to be sure, I think mostly it's big for celebrations, I would say celebrations in Ireland still go harder than America, as it is a lot about country pride too. It was quite a religious country for a long time, certainly still more important than England's saint is to them. From what i understand, America adopted it because of a lot of Irish immigrants, but now those with even a fraction of Irish heritage or non celebrate so they can drink." Taggie paused and looked at the girl, curious, "Have you not really left your home town?"
"It is not fair of you to call me out in such a manner," Arya teases -- laughing a little. She furrows her eyebrows, blushing quite profusely. To be fair, however, Gendry always made them blush, whether he was trying to or not. He definitely was right, obviously Arya started to like it, but only when he called her that. "Yes, I am aware that you were a very willing participant that night," They nod, laughing again. They were glad, at least, that he didn't feel taken advantage of, for the most part. She looks up at him as he steps forward. "Feelings are not so easy for me to admit." Arya points out, "And I would marry you now, if I were given the chance."
"Perhaps not fair, but it certainly is true..." He paused for dramatic effect, "M'lady", he whispered with a mischievous glint in his eye, as he noticed Arya's blush."I suppose it's a good thing admitting mine is almost too easy for me, maybe it will encourage you more, if you know it's safe to open up" He grinned down at them.
He couldn't stop his eyes widening when she mentioned marrying him. "I'll keep that in mind." He smiled, letting his eyes scan their face for a moment. "I'm not going to propose straight away, just so you know, maybe a slightly slower approach is better, even if you're saying it wouldn't scare you off now," he smiled bring his finger to brush a strand of hair by the side of their face slightly "doesn't seem the norm in this world either, even if we have known each other since we were sprogs, seems some never get married it's not a nessecity here."
colin frowned when he heard what penelope said ❝ true, there. i need to learn to write in the modern language as well ❞ was she being serious with the next words ❝ what, they can? how? imagine if it would been around in our time, people might have found out you were lady whistledown ❞ he shrugged, paused a brief second to think ❝ i am not certain i think it is fascinating, it sounds as you cannot hide, unless you do know different styles to write ❞ he mixed a bit of new and old words in his writing.
❝ it is easier to write on your own, in a journal or writing your own book. with these essays it is different, you have limited letters, you cannot write as much as you wish to ❞ he recently learned how to see it in these computer writing programs. how to see how much you had written ❝ it's a challenge ❞
he smiled, stood up and turned around to wrap his arms around her ❝ how about we go out instead? eat on a restaurant, any of them, you decide ❞
"I don't know if you entirely do, from what I have gathered, people are less eloquent in their written word these days, and being able to write with more polished language and grammar is also celebrated. Though it does depend on what you are writing for." She had it ingrained into her at the Post to ensure she was writing in a way that suited the intended audience. "Oh, I would have been discovered far quicker, I believe, if I had attempted it now, though I suppose only if I had published work prior to Wistledown." Penelope thought for a moment he was very likely right "I think this whole world makes it rather hard to hide, it seems so much easier for people to find out about your life or find you than the world we remember."
"You're being limited on how many words you can use" She asked with a frown, "I had only assumed those kinds of assignments had a minimum." She had encountered being limited on words at work, but in the few classes she had taken in Washington, she hadn't been limited on words; she felt bad for Colin dealing with that aspect so early in. "I believe the easiest way I have found to go about that is to write everything I wish to, then edit it down, simplifying sentences. That way, you are not limiting what you want to say subconsciously as you see the count rising."
Penelope smiled leaning into his touch, her hands resting softly on his arms. "Oh, eating out would be delightful. I have recently discovered something called Ramen, and I am besotted by it. There is so much flavour, Colin," She explained, thinking of the much blander food of their time, flavours had certainly elevated in 200 years.
arisu listens to the other intently, pretending to understand the ins and outs of making a sword, apparently. he might not understand it all completely, but it definitely sounds impressive enough. he shifts back to looking at the sword he was looking at upon the realization they're all real, but moves to stand upright as he turns back to the other. " that's probably a good idea, " arisu chuckles. it all sounds a little too dangerous to him, if he's being honest, but if they're blunt, he supposes that's not so bad. " so wait, you hand make all of these ? that's really impressive, " he compliments with a smile.
"People like to appreciate the authentic ways things were made in the past, I think it's understandable that they do, though there aren't many reasons to learn those skills these days, past the novelty of it. But enough people enjoy that for me to make a living, so I can't complain" Gendry smiled at the man in front of him with a nod, "Myself and my buisness partner we built a forge outside if you want to see it, but yeah, that's one I made"
Cordelia turned around when she heard her name, staring blankly at the man in front of her. "Sorry, do we know each other?" She asked, confused at the man's questioning. Her eyes went wide and she chuckled sarcastically, "Yeah, totally! They're here with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Are you, like, insane or something?"
Spike looked at her, confused, bringing his hand to the back of his neck, "Sorry, you reminded me of someone I know. I must be wrong." He threw his hands into his pockets "Insane, maybe sometimes. A few people I knew used to refer to themselves as that. I think it was meant to be a comical reference."
"Others can come from your world to this one, yes," Rey nods again, trying to reassure Taggie. She hoped that Taggie's friends and loved ones would turn up in Washington soon, then she would not have to worry about them. "I do hope that your loved ones wind up in D.C. soon, and mine as well." She shrugs. "So that we may have more peace, in our time here. Though I do know that they can show up with or without their memories, which makes things slightly more complicated."
Taggie smiled, thinking about the possibility. She knew it wasn't guaranteed she had learned that much in the time she had been here, but she hoped that one day she would walk past someone from her family or Rupert every day. That didn't mean it would happen. "I hope we both get to see them again. It's odd not being able to even contact them on the phone" The thought of people turning up but not knowing her, or worse, being someone else who looked like the people she knew, was haunting. "So, on another note, how have you been filling your time recently? I have been throwing myself so heavily into my work, I feel like I'm missing out on some fun."
@displacedmuser [Wally + Charley]
"Wally?! Hey, how are you doing?!" Charley smiled, seeing his friend from the After Life's Club or whatever they had called it. "Can you believe it?! We're alive again!"
"Charlie!" he smiled. He had seen a few people from their world now turn up in Washington, and he couldn't be more thankful. Maddie and Rhonda made me feel like life may be falling into place. "Honestly, it was a shock, but it's been a while for me now, and I'm just thankful for this weird chance to live life again. How are you settling into this new life?"
