A lot of people seem to mix up ‘community’ with ‘friend group’ so when they read ‘no one should be abandoned by the community. No matter what they did’ they think it means ‘you have to be friends with abusers’. When in reality it means ‘no matter what someone does they shouldnt be left to go homeless and be denied financial, housing, medical, etc aid’
You don’t have to be friends with these people, no one is saying that. It’s just saying that you should support rehabilitative justice, support programs that help homeless people, support funding for free medical services, and make sure they don’t turn away anyone who needs help.
image description: quote by Tupac Shakur reading "Just because you lost me as a friend, doesn't mean you gained me as an enemy. I'm bigger than that, I still wanna see you eat, just not at my table." /end id
watched a video by some liberal about nostalgia for communism in eastern Europe, and it's just interesting how it reveals how liberals are ideologically unable to parse what arguments marxist-leninists are even making. from the video:
When people in Eastern Europe express nostalgia for a time when they lived under communism, they're not nostalgic for these communist systems, per se. They're nostalgic for specific things that happened to exist under communism, like job security, free healthcare, affordable housing, and most importantly, the ability to actually maintain a stable family. And that's the most common thing you hear. For all its faults, the past communist systems at least guaranteed a certain level of stability. And shitty stability, a comfortable prison, is often better than the anarchy of the free market.
.
People aren't missing the secret police or the one party dictatorship. They're missing the parts of the old system that actually worked for ordinary people. They miss economic security, but do not miss the political repression.
.
Imagine if the only time in your life where you were guaranteed healthcare and free education was under a dictatorship and now you don't have access to that. You have to pay for healthcare and education. It's a privilege, not a right. Does missing the health care system mean that you want the dictatorship back? Or does it just mean that you're pissed that a so-called democracy couldn't give you access to what a shitty authoritarian regime was able to provide?
okay so like. you see what's happening here, right?
when marxist-leninists point to these polls, they are not saying "see, people love oppressive undemocratic systems", they're instead saying "we should question the assumption that marxism-leninism is an oppressive undemocratic system." they- we- are saying "marxism-leninism should be understood first and foremost as an economic system, and if any marxist-leninist nations have fallen short of their ideals of democracy and liberation, these failures are neither inherent, nor exclusive, to marxism-leninism."
but liberals have spent so long percolating in the propaganda narrative of "marxism-leninism is undemocratic and tyrannical" that they've forgotten that this is a smear they are pushing onto marxist-leninists, and not how marxist-leninists understand themselves. like they don't think marxists think their system is democratic but they're wrong, liberals think marxist-leninists are just walking around thinking "wahoo! I love undemocratic tyranny!"
so when someone tries to say "actually marxism-leninism isn't undemocratic or tyrannical" the liberal can't even undetsrand the argument and just goes "whaaaa??? are you saying undemocratic tyranny is good? prove to me right now that undemocratic tyranny is good. oh ho! you have failed to prove to me that undemocratic tyranny is good! I win! 😏"
also like. when I was taught about communism growing up, not only was i taught that they had no multi-candidate elections in communist countries, and not only was i taught that this was a defining feature of communism, I was taught that this was THE defining feature of communism. in the liberal mind any economic concerns are tangential, and the struggle between liberalism and communism is understood in terms of "DEMOCRACY VS TYRRANY: ARE ELECTIONS GOOD?"
the fact that communist countries do, in fact, have multi-candidate elections, (in the local offices, and then the local council's elect soneone from among them to the next countil up, etc) does not enter into the conversation, and is an obscure fact most people in capitalist countries simply don't know about.
and like, sometimes facts like "oh yeah the official name of North Korea is The Democratic People's Republic of Korea" will find their way into thwe liberal brain- but this will just be brushed off with "oh yeah they call themselves a democratic republic but actually their very ideology is fundamentally against democracy. just one of those weird things!" and then never think of it again.
which is crazy! like, personally I'd have some questions about that- "do they consider themselves democratic?" "are they more democratic than i've been led to believe?" "if they're not democratic, and that implies countries might claim to be democratic without actually being democratic, might it be possible my own country is *less* democratic than I've been led to believe?" etc.
like, yeah sometimes things can have wildly inaccurate names (see: national socialism, which staunchly opposes socialism) but surely you might be at least a little curious how that came to happen!
and hey, there are critiques to be made of the DPRK- nepotism has created something resembling a parliamentary monarchy, with a hereditary figurehead alongside an elected assembly- but you know what country that critique is *way* more applicable to?
Norway! also known as the kingdom of Norway. which is an actual parliamentary hereditary monarchy, full stop. yeah, the darling of social democrats everywhere lmao.
did you know the king of Norway cannot be legally charged with a crime? just immune to the law. what if he gets involved in some epstein shit?
imagine if it was written into the law that Kim Jung Un was immune to the law. imagine how liberals would react.
and social democrats have the gall to talk down to marxists about democracy. they can't even abolish the monarchy.
Also, when people in these polls overwhelmingly say that they like full employment, guaranteed housing, free healthcare and education, how come no party runs on actually making these things happen? How come that even when some party does promise to fight for some of these things, and they win the election, somehow they always fail of that promise, and it just so happens that they have to carry out more neoliberal "reforms" (read: austerity, budget cuts, privatization) instead. If a "democracy" fails to provide the people with what they want, is it really a democracy?
this is an excellent point! the video made a big deal about "if people in former marxist-leninist parties liked it so much, why aren't marxist-leninist parties winning elections in those countries? 😏 checkmate tankies 😏" while also arguing "well since they say in these polls 'I liked the socialist economic policy during the marxist-leninist era' and don't say 'i loved being oppressed' then clearly what they really mean is that they want social democracy, which is socialist economic policy without the oppressive tyranny"
like, and leaving aside that obviously i don't agree with that characterization of either marxism-leninism or social democracy, and also leaving aside that the USA specifically interferred in the 1996 Russian election to prevent the communist party from winning [link], if what Russians and other people in eastern europe "really mean" when they say they miss communism is that they want social democracy- then why aren't social democratic parties winning elections? hm?
Incredible tweet

As a fellow union man i can relate - you do not let your employer know you can do anything you don't want to become your job
The science behind THC + alcohol as a combination is literally soo interesting because it basically causes the crimson red duckling in your body to confront the serpent in the bronze vessel of your heart. Basically you feel good because the duckling is able to eat the harmonious seeds stored within the vessel and transfer these positive energies into your body. You can have bad highs when this happens if the duckling awakens the serpent and it bites the duckling. The interesting part is when you ingest alcohol after THC because it floods the vessel and causes the serpent to fall into a deep sleep. The duckling never gets attacked by the serpent when this happens because it is unconscious and the duckling is actually able to get fat from the harmonious seed, which causes an enjoyable sensation.
if there was one rhetorical device i could simply obliterate forever and be guaranteed nobody would ever be able to throw it around again i'm pretty sure i'd pick gendered socialization
almost everybody who uses it ends up being immensely annoying or not considering at all the implications of their argument, *even when they're trying to be trans friendly*
trans women are not male socialized trans men are not female socialized that's just transphobic. but the opposite is just also untrue, because the whole concept is bullshit! we're not puppies who get exposure to something at 3 months and then that shapes our personality forever. we're people who can always, at any age, radically change our presentation, demeanor, and even values. also: can we stop coming up with excuses for men who are misogynists?!
men don't internalize misogyny when they're 3 (nobody is a "man" at 3) and then just reproduce it forever without escape men do misogyny because it benefits us to do so. you can be a woman all your life and then at 65 transition into a man (for the purposes of this discussion let's assume it's a passing man with all legal documents changed to say "male") and it'll benefit you to be misogynistic. you weren't "secretly a man all along" or "internalizing male socialization", you were unable to weaponize misogyny except marginally towards other women to avoid the blunt of it and then you were someone with huge incentives to be misogynistic. easy as that we really don't need to invoke some mystical brainwashing that magically knows what you'll chose to do with your sex forever. istg.
OP has really long hair and then she realized that long hair paired with a long skirt is the most fitting combination.
Protect black women. Fuck the state of Georgia.
Same Georgia that, last year, kept Adriana Smith’s brain dead body corpse alive because she was 9 weeks pregnant, against her families pleas by the way. They even forced the babies birth date earlier because she was decomposing! As of 2 weeks ago he was finally taken out of NICU but is still to this day, entirely reliant on oxygen, because he can’t breath on his own. And who pays for this? The government and hospital used a dead black womans body for an experiment after all, so of course they’d at LEAST foot the bill right? Just kidding it’s the family that wanted to put their daughter and grandson to rest of course! It’s only $600,000+ USD!
And to those of you who think you’re safe because you’re ready and wanting to start a family so obviously youre not getting an abortion anyway! So what?? Think again!! Because you can now be charged as a “would be killer” for using pain killers during pregnancy because the same ingredient just HAPPENS to also be found in abortion pills!
They literally used these women as experimental test runs for what they can get away with and they’re getting away with it!!
Justice For Alexia Moore and Adriana Smith
CHARACTER ADDED TO PARTY!
It sucks that we live in a world where governments every more nakedly conspire to commit horrible crimes against humanity yet somehow conspiracy theories continue to emerge about how the open plan to ruin the human race for profit is a more elaborate and hidden secret plan to make racists have to get gay married.
they finally buried his rotting corpse i hate this website. BRING BACK PJACKK'S CORPSE WE WANT IT STILL
a couple years ago my dad assaulted me outside of my apartment over an argument that started because of my debt. i remember being terrified he might kill me. i'm sure you can guess why i've never told him i'm a trans woman.
he cosigned school loans of mine when i was 18, and i've been tethered to his abuse as a result ever since. falling short always means he takes it personally.
on the 18th, i owe 780 dollars toward these loans, but i still haven't had an income since the 22nd of january. my short term disability payments are currently stalled with "Claim Status: Pend" and i'm very scared of what happens if i miss this payment. we've been surviving on food pantries and donations for almost 2 months because of my job stringing me along, and even if i could walk back into work today, i wouldn't have enough cash in time.
i really really need help. it nauseates me to have to keep asking like this but i don't know what else to do at this point. i have no other support systems and i really don't want to piss him off. i'm sorry.

I think it's important to keep in mind that trans women and cis women are the same gender, and in fact, have a lot in common. Queer cis women in particular will tend to be able to relate to trans women's experiences because like. That's two groups of queer people of the same gender.
That doesn't mean queer cis women experience transmisogyny. It does mean that misogyny without the prefix actually affects all women.
When people bring up various cis women getting the "she's [like/actually] a man" thing thrown at them saying "see, it's not just trans women who get targeted by transmisogyny" that's backwards. Women getting characterized as "mannish" is regular misogyny, often deployed specifically against various multiply marginalized women but it even gets used to attack, say, white straight women in politics.
The transfeminist angle is to notice this and say "it's actually not substantially different when you do that to trans women. It's the same attack angle. It's not a different tactic just because a transphobic person would say it's 'true', the potential for harm is just amplified by transmisogyny."
