Recently read somewhere that Barry was initially supposed to be the person to die in the s2 finale but the writers didn’t think it would hit as hard so changed it to Wally and honestly I’m just thinking about that alternate timeline.

- Barry sacrificing himself to prevent Wally from “ceasing”

- Wally stepping up to become the Flash and struggling to wear his uncle’s costume

- Bart struggling with the fact that his mission was successful but he still wasn’t able to save his Grandad

- the chrysalis energy making Wally faster (similar to how “dark matter” fixed Wally’s powers in Crisis on Infinite Earths)

- Wally and Artemis getting married and having to balance Wally’s league commitments with Artemis’ commitments to the team

- the opening of the Flash museum in honour of Barry (in the comics Wally reveals his secret ID to truly allow Barry to be honoured but I’m 50/50 on this as I think Wally would want to finish college as well)

- Wally and Bart struggling in their mentor/mentee relationship, Wally only being 21 when he has to be the Flash and he’s unsure of how to teach him (in the comics Wally becomes the Flash at 19 which I think is even crazier) and Bart being slightly resentful that Barry is gone
