LPT: Don't throw your junk mail away. Use it to to help the USPS instead!
Next time you get a credit card offer in the mail, or a junk piece of mail that includes a prepaid envelope or postcard, don't throw it away! Send the envelope back with a blank sheet of paper inside, or don't fill the postcard out, but still send it back. The company that sent it to you had to pay the USPS for postage on each one they get back. This is a way to support the USPS by doing very little, and sticking it to the annoying companies that want all of your money.
In the 90s we would send companies “hate mail” by stuffing prepaid envelopes with things like ‘blanks’ (flat heavy metal pieces), a roofing shingle) and layers of other competitors’ mail or junk news. This is because the company would have to pay more upon recieving the junk mail. It eats into them. It actually somewhat reduced our junk mail returnables, I think. Send that mail y’all.
Regular doctors don't necessarily know much about nutrition/diet either. I started seeing a dietician this year and she was straight up horrified by some of the advice given to me by my doctor.
oh man i never told you. recently we went to the albertina art gallery and in the contemporary wing we saw this painting, “nacht der skorpione”
and we were fucking blown away by it, like audible gasping from everyone, it’s almost as tall as the room and incredibly expressive and impressive
and after having walked around looking at the work of 99% male artists and their endless studies dedicated to The Female Form for so goddamn long my very first thought upon seeing it was “this was painted by a woman”, so i walk closer and sure enough, i was right, her name is xenia hausner.
and then i look at it for a moment longer and my chest swells because these are intense characters with internal lives and that is what makes them attractive and my second thought is “this was not painted by a straight woman”
and i mean i can’t say anything for sure but i looked her up and
and nobody else picked up on this in the original painting? when i told them they were like “what, why, because of the masculine (???) brush strokes”? they were not shaken to their very core by the authenticity of it? what i’m trying to say is gaydar is extremely real and straight people extremely do not have it.

I have 3000 followers now so here's some tips for you all:
clean your scrapes and cuts; yes, even the small ones
use moisturizer and hair oils and stop overwashing your body
don't mix cleaning chemicals for the love of god, especially if bleach is involved in any way, that shit CAN and WILL put you in the ER or in the ground
invest in a food processor or even a small electric chopper, it's worth it, I promise
"common sense" isn't real and we all have to learn things at some point; some people just learn things a bit later than others and that's okay
regular sleep is important but some people are just wired differently and it's okay if your natural sleep cycle doesn't line up with how society is structured
don't quit any prescription medication cold turkey unless it's discussed in detail with at least one medical professional
stop asking yourself if you can survive without an accessibility aid and start asking if it will improve your quality of living instead
just be kind, to yourself and others
This is so lovely and kind, thank you

people are on twitter throwing shade at Texas and Louisiana as if Texan republicans didn’t just file a federal lawsuit to throw out 127,000 votes -- Texas (which could fit the entire UK in it 2.8 times need i remind you) also closed hundreds of polling sites, leaving one county with only two sites. TWO. Louisiana also ordered hundreds of polling places to close early ON ELECTION DAY.
i don’t want to hear people going “oobloobloo these boomers” and “oobloobloo the south” and “oobloobloo these hillbillies”
IT’S DIRECT VOTER SUPPRESSION.
so stop making jokes about sleeping when southerners need help during hurricanes because your middle class white ass was able to safely get in your subaru to drive to your local polling place on your lunchbreak meanwhile voters on their way to their polling places in north carolina were pepper-sprayed by police.
Halloween 2020, Oil on Paper by Edward Delandre
“Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder’s hair is in knots. She won’t wake. I can’t tell if she’s done too many shots last night, or if it’s just the pills doing their work. She has skinny hands that work in unremembering. Was that my story or yours? We laugh. It doesn’t matter. What did I do for my seventh birthday? What cake was my favorite? She won’t tell me. We play this game for days, like she knows all the answers and I am just looking for something enough to chew over, something to make sense of these nights we go out to lose ourselves, as if we had anything left to give away. Her voice is sinister. “Tell me about your mother,” she smiles. I remember red hair, the gas station, a store’s name I don’t remember but a blueberry muffin I’m sure I enjoyed. She smirks. More. I am clawing at my memories; the white couches in the family room, Southern red velvet cake with the heavy cream cheese frosting, blackout, something about a party I wasn’t meant to go to, black out, I’m not your mother, black out, how she wore sunglasses when the dog died, those goddamn birthday cakes. I told her she could own a bakery. ‘Tell me, which one was your favorite?’ ‘What do you remember best?’ PTSD watches me watch her. She is awake now, sitting up in the salted sheets. She knows I don’t know.”

have you ever noticed you pick up little habits and phrases from the people you love? it’s no wonder our hearts are so easily broken when people leave. we become a reflection of the people that we care about and those personality traits stick with us even if the people don’t
I make my ramen the way a friend taught me in eleventh grade. Every fall, I listen to a playlist made for me by a boy I drove across a border to hook up with. I eat sushi because a girl who won’t talk to me anymore made me try it, and Indian food because my best friend’s parents ordered for me before I knew what I liked. There are movies I love because someone I loved loved them first. I am a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever loved, even for a heartbeat.
i still cant believe leaf sheep sea slugs look like that
just look at it
look at it
