And it feels like the start of a movie I've seen before... ✨
Note: I used a template to create this video. So the editing isn't really what I made. I usually do my own editing but I wanted to test out the templates section on CapCut. I really like how it turned out and that's why I thought I should share it on here. Thanks for watching!
Hey there! I just started reading your fics for the first time and I'm absolutely loving it! I do have a Daryl x Reader request if it's all right?:
I was thinking about the reader (she/her) being on her own during the apocalypse and stumbling across Daryl and maybe some of the group during season 3/season 4. She's not from Georgia or anywhere in the south (I imagine the reader being from the Pacific Northwest like Washington, Oregon, Idaho, maybe even Alaska??) and had a layover in Atlanta right when the apocalypse started. Ever since she escaped the airport, she's been on her own and been trying to learn how to survive and even attempt to try to travel back north to her home but she always gets sidetracked or gets blocked by walkers or even hostile survivors. Then, when the reader is traveling on the road by foot, she sees Daryl and others trying to escape a crowd of walkers while they were doing their supply run. The reader decides to help and in the process she gets saved by Daryl and she also saves Daryl's ass as well. Maybe their first meet already had sparks before they formally introduced themselves while they fought the walkers? Like they almost have this kind of "love at first sight" scenario but more realistic (like they're admiring how both of them are working together even if they don't know each other yet)? Along with that, maybe have some time skips of their bond and how well they work as a team along with their growing romance/attractiveness towards each other?
I don't know if this is a good request lol. If you're able to get something down, that's great! if not, totally understandable. You're welcome to add anything to the request to make it more compelling and interesting. Thanks and I hope you have a great day! 😁❤️
I found them

Walking. Eating. Sleeping. Breathing... Surviving, that’s what they called it nowadays, in a world where the passed roamed the earth for a second chance and the living taunted death by getting out of bed.
You had a layover in Atlanta when the world fell, many people had been forced to quarantine in the airport and you all watched the world rot away along its inhibitors by the big glass windows that dressed the place, it was good at first, you all had a good amount of food and water, places to sleep and people to talk to but like any species forced to cohabitate with foreign ones, tensions were created and hierarchies were forged, which put mainly the women, the elderly and the children in danger. The ill, got worse. Maybe it was the lack of medicine, the shock and stress, the illness they already suffered from or the new illness you all carried…they passed and soon enough, the outside world had seeped into the glass bubble until it shattered and you were forced to run.
You walked, your feet accommodating to every surface they strolled over and your shoes softening to each texture, so much so that no pair lasted you more than a week. There weren’t many roads free from traffic jams, not closer to the cities at least and you knew better than to willingly venture there so you stayed mainly off roads and just walked. Sometimes you got lucky and found a working car that would help you get farther in your journey and then it would break your heart when it begged you to let go. Your bleeding feet did too and your heart… your heart just cried for you to stop. But you never did, you wanted to find your family, you wanted to go back home and pretend none of this happened and you knew it wasn’t possible but the sole thought was what kept you on your toes for that long until something else, or perhaps, someone else came along….
You slowly approached the outskirts of a little town, you could see the store you wanted to go into from afar and you heard struggling voices, hurried and somewhat scared and you watched…waiting for survival instinct to kick in and pull you away but instead it pulled you forwards. At the time you believed it was a physical response from needing to see someone alive, to have a human conversation after months of loneliness and strangling quiet but years later you’d understand that you were marching to the rhythm of death’s song. Wanting to seduce her into taking you home even as a deathwish. The storefront was surrounded by the dead so you followed death’s lullaby to the back, she painted the ladder that would take you up to the roof, your mom’s favorite shade of pink and once you followed it, you landed on an unstable roof that had caved in the middle. You wished you could say that Death had adorned it with your sister’s favorite flowers, but you couldn’t, you in fact did not know your sister’s favorite flowers yet you dove right in. Your knife plunged into a walker’s skull as you panted, the adrenaline only making it harder to just let yourself go, so just how you kept on walking all those months ago, you kept on putting them down as they seemed to reach for someone. You looked down at the last victim of your blade with confused eyes and then felt potent eyes on you, living ones.
“Thanks” he breathed raggedly. You blinked a couple of times upon meeting his gaze, you smiled because it was the closest you had been to feeling alive since everything started. “Your welcome”
You turned your head away from the man when you saw more living people walking hurriedly towards him, they begged for help and you blindly followed while the man cleared more walkers. There had been some sort of unspoken conversation in the seconds prior.
‘I dunno why but I trust ya, I need ya t’ prove t’ me why’
‘You don’t know me’
‘I feel like i do’
But only this could be heard amongst the chaos.
“‘M Daryl” he rasped.
Your lips twitched upwards “Y/n”
And he was right. Because just when Death launched at him, pinning him down to the floor as her sister crawled to scratch the very features you hadn’t had the time to admire yet, you ran to his rescue. You pulled a shelf apart and swung it hard enough to knock her spawn down and free the man. Death thought you had called her, she believed you had called upon her with false pretenses, so she followed you, she knocked shelves down and she appeared in the form of many walkers, hungry for fresh newfound hope. What she didn’t expect was a dull light in the form of an unknown man to fight alongside you. She lost… and you never ran after her again.
The group of them met away from the store and surrounded an abandoned car just when you appeared through the treeline, gun’s were raised towards you and fear failed to shake you. The man you had saved told them all to lower them and you approached. Your eyes never really left him, and from that day on, neither did you.
Mere days later, you two had lived thousands of lives together…
You stepped out from behind a tree just to find a crossbow pointed in your direction, once he recognised you, he lowered it.
“Wha’re ya doin’ out ‘ere?”
You shrugged “I’m helping you”
He narrowed his eyes “‘m almost two days away from the prison, how’d’ya find me?”
You pressed your lips together, scrutinizing your brain for answers and he could see it, clearer than he could see footprints on fresh soil so he only motioned forwards for you both to keep walking and after a while, he spoke. “Yer still lookin’ for ‘em? Yer family”
You nodded “I don’t think I ever stopped. At least not mentally” he looked back at you with sadness in his eyes and you nodded again in understanding. People back at the prison said he didn’t talk much, but they just never listened to his silence.
“I know…it’s unlikely that i find them but it’s just become a habit—It kept me going for so long”
“Yer plannin’ on leaving? Saw ya lookin’ at some maps last nigh’”
You shrugged “I don’t know, i think of it alot but i just—”
The archer stopped in his tracks and turned to look at you; He shrugged discreetly “Ya could stay”
He voiced. Somehow he knew that it was what you needed. You needed to know that someone wanted you to stay.
“You want me to stay? I thought you didn’t like me much” you joked with a smile.
Daryl scoffed and walked away from you, you stood back for a few seconds as your smile grew.
“If ya leave i’ll track ya down, take ya back to the prison and lock ya in yer cell”
So that’s what you did, you stayed because something in the air you breathed now kept you from running away…
You laid on the cold floor of the barn as people around you slept, you got up and searched the room for him, your heartbeat began speeding up until a small rock hit your back. You turned and you immediately met his eyes. He sat against one of the walls with his knees close to his chest looking over everyone, but mostly you. You got up and went to sit next to him, your arms and shoulders touched and so did your knees.
“Ya’ve been turnin’ around like a headless chicken, wha’s wrong?” he asked, his eyes fixed on his fidgety hands.
“I’m scared of waking up”
He turned to you with confusion clouding his eyes “Wha’d’ya mean?”
You shrugged as your eyes began to tear up “Everything's been feeling really fake lately…almost dreamlike. I can hear my breathing and i feel the skin on my bones, my vision blurs and it’s almost like pieces of the puzzle that is reality… are beginning to fall and when i got up and i didn’t see you—”
“Ya thought i was one of ‘em pieces”
You nodded and you felt him shrug against your shoulder.
“And wha’ if it’s a dream? Dun’t’ya wanna find yer family anymore?”
You looked around you, your eyes falling onto every single person you’d die for. “I already found them, and i can’t lose them again”
He looked into your eyes, his, failing to stay solely on yours. They drifted to your lips and back up to your eyes, he looked away and then nodded. “Ya can sleep righ’ ‘ere. I ain’t goin’ anywhere”
And you did. You slept right next to him, with your head on his shoulder and his on yours and from that night, sleep failed to cradle you when he wasn’t around.
Your eyes shot open as the feeling of safety escaped your body, you felt cold and alone yet looking around the room of the Alexandrian house you all slept in that night, was solemn proof that you weren’t alone, but someone was missing. The breeze that slipped through the opened door called your name outside and there you found him. Sat on the floor with his back to the railing. His eyes met yours in an apologetic manner. You moved to sit next to him, your body bringing warmth upon his.
“Sorry. I was hopin’ ya wouldn’t wake up tonigh’”
“You don’t have to apologize…i can sleep without you being near”
The archer’s lips stretched into a smile only you got to see, he nudged your shoulder playfully as he knew you didn’t believe that statement.
“I like it when you smile, it looks good on you” you stated, moving some hair from his eyes. The man huffed and looked away although what he wanted to do most was speak on that statement, he had missed that opportunity many times before and he didn’t quite understand why that night, he finally did.
“Only smile when i got a reason to” he murmured.
And there it was, what you had been waiting for, dreaming about on the nights you could sleep. That dull light you first saw when you met him was as bright as you knew it could be.
“What are you doing out here?” you asked.
“Couldn’t sleep”
“Did you try?” you joked to alleviate the unease you knew he felt, you all did, but his was greater enough to make him leave “It’s weird, isn’t it? We’ve been outside for so long and now we step a foot in here and it’s like all we went through beyond these walls didn’t matter”
He nodded “It dun feel righ’”
“Because it isn’t, we’re the ones who will make it that way and to do that…i need to know that you’ll still be here when i wake up”
He nudged you once again and it shook the doubts away “Hey…ain’t goin’ nowhere without ya. Ya hear me?”
You nodded and got up, you flashed a last smile at him before speaking the words you believed changed many things between you.
“I’m gonna go back inside and sleep…alone. Like a normal person because I'm capable of that” you admitted hesitantly.
Daryl nodded and looked away to conceal a smile and once he did, he looked right back at you “Good– ‘m proud of ya” he joked.
“Yeah whatever…goodnight”
“Nigh’”
So you did just that, you went back inside and laid on your cot awake for what felt like an eternity, until you felt a comforting warmth against your back that emerged from deadly silent footsteps, it was Daryl.
You sighed “Thank god…i thought i was gonna have to lay awake until morning”
Daryl chuckled lowly, poking your side with his finger which made you squirm. You swatted his hand away and then turned to face him. You touched his features and tried to memorize them in the dark room, you could feel sleep taking over him as your touch lulled him to sleep. His hand unconsciously moved to drape over your waist and you scooted closer. You could hear your own heartbeat in your ears.
“‘M glad ya chose t’ stay” he whispered.
“I could never say ‘no’ to you”
Those aching touches only became more present over time, he never dared to leave the house without hugging you or at the very least, touching your arm lightly and meeting your eyes, even when he thought you’d pull away. The men of the community didn’t waste any time in making themselves known to the women of your group and especially you, your eyes never failed to land on the man who caused your heart to slow down to an almost imperceptible beat. A pace that made you doubt you were even alive but you were, it was the sort of peace your body would fall into in the last moments of consciousness before falling asleep. A deep sense of peace and calm you thought didn’t exist. Therefore you began to chase it, to run after that silence and intoxicating calm and he allowed you to.
You stood at the back of the church while Rick spoke to the community, the doors behind you opened but you didn’t turn to see who it was. Aaron walked past you to sit on a bench while the archer stood mere centimeters behind you; You could feel his body heat. Your arm instinctively reached back and you took his hand in yours. A small gesture no one could see but you could most definitely feel. Daryl’s eyes widened slightly in shock as they looked down at your hands, he gave you a light squeeze of reassurance and you felt your lungs fill up again. It was the gesture that confirmed you knew what he had been doing. Ever since the group split up between the houses, you didn’t sleep together anymore. He slept in the basement while you resided in the attic of the house you both shared with the Grimes and Michonne. Daryl would always go up to your room and kiss your forehead before leaving to recruit with Aaron and you knew, because just like his presence once helped you fall asleep, your body had been accustomed to his presence so now it somehow knew when he was near.
You turned to look at him “How’d it go?” you asked as he’d been gone for precisely 46 hours.
“Went good. Brought some people back with us…couldn’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout comin’ back to ya”
You smiled “I might have slept on your bed”
He scoffed because he knew you did when he was gone, only this was the first time you’d told him.
“But i’m guessing you already know”
“I do”
Those imperceptible touches somehow turned into physical permanence. Your soul ached to be near his and just stay. He laid on his bed looking at the ceiling while you laid horizontally with your head resting on his stomach, you both met at night again as you often did, only to be near…solely so you could rest your head on him and fill the air with whatever this was.
“So yer goin’?” he asked. The archer had overheard one of the men of the community asking you out on a date, you hadn’t said anything to that man nor to Daryl. He felt the need to ask because he needed to make sure someone else could love you the way he believed you deserved. You immediately understood what he meant.
“No”
“Why?”
You inhaled deeply “Because i got way too attached to you and i don’t want to let go”
Daryl forced his body into a seating position and you did the same. You smiled slightly at him before lowering your gaze.
“Look, i don’t know what this is and if you only want this, it’s fine by me but what i can’t do is step out of this house and act like you’re not the main thought in my mind, let alone try to love anyone else because i will fail and…i rather fail with you than win with anyone else.
He looked for your gaze until he met it, that way he could directly speak to you heart “‘m so fuckin’ weak when it comes to ya”
You kneeled closer to him, your foreheads touched and his hand rested on your hip. He nudged his nose against yours and you smiled. The search for your family had been over long before this moment, perhaps it ended when your eyes met in that store.
Although you never said it to each other up to that moment, i believe you both knew. There is something so tender about physical touch with the right person, the feeling of being home and being welcomed in the purest form of love is enough to make you believe you never really experienced it thus far. He was all yours and he had been for a while and something about the way you met told him that he’d wait for you forever, he knew it back then and he felt it now, except he didn’t have to… you looked at each other a little too long to just be friends.
You found them and somewhere along the way, you found him.

rest in peace eddie munson, you would have loved peter jackson’s adaption of lord of the rings, well other than the fact it didn’t include the scouring of the shire.
