AU - Every generation the honmoon makes at least one decision for the demon hunters and, no matter what, the hunters respect it, even if they don’t understand why it was done. One generation, the honmoon guided the hunters to the next generation of girls. Another it encouraged only modern weapons.
The Sunlight Sisters had been brought up on the rule that the honmoon’s decisions were always to be respected and never disputed, but, for the life of her, Celine does not know why the honmoon decided to reveal the secret of the demon hunters to the world (including the fact that the honmoon selected 3 women hunters per generation).
Yeah, forget security force, they could become a worldwide sanctioned religion.
A spiritual barrier that keeps away demons and is strengthened by the unity in humanity? I can see a lot of belief systems and already established religions shifting to or accommodating the Hoonmoon. The Hoonmoon becoming visible would basically make it the one true divinity for a lot of people. Even if not locking up the SL, they would definitely be heavily pushed internationally. Then optimization kicks in. Maybe experiment with having them cover or rewrite national anthems or popular/culturally-relevant songs so it's easier for people across the world to connect with them. For the sake of humanity, they would be given monopoly over the musical scene. Artists that want to compete against them or even just express themselves and share their own music would be overshadowed if not suppressed so to not take away attention from the hunters' music that strengthens the barrier against evil.
And for people who genuinely aren't into hunter music, I can see them receiving variations of "why don't you like their music? It's what protects us! Do you want your soul to be stolen?". So yeah, international government-backed promotion in the short term that makes the Hoonmoon stronger than ever before, but then control and optimization take over genuineness and creativity.
AU - When Gwi Ma finally gets power and the honmoon starts to create larger tears during canon, he decides that he doesn’t want to wait on going after the one person who’s been causing him the most trouble for decades: Celine. He decides to attack her while she and Bobby are together talking about the upcoming Idol Awards (as Bobby wanted to talk to her in person because of how much turmoil the girls have been experiencing). Thanks to all the craziness happening with the honmoon and the larger tears, the honmoon messes up and ends up body swapping Bobby, Celine and Gwi Ma.
Bobby - Celine's body
Celine - Gwi Ma's body
Gwi Ma - Bobby's boby
Ohhh there are so many ways this could go, so many parameters.
First to get an intrusive thought out of the way: would Celine try to kill Gwi Ma while he's in Bobby's body? Simply no way. For all that she's anti-demon, she's also a very hopeful person (see raising Rumi while praying that demon issues never come up). Rather than betting on that chance (is it actually Gwi Ma that will be gone if Bobby's body dies?), she'd go straight to figuring out the next best thing.
Onto the AU. First parameter, what does Gwi Ma look like? Did he craft a body for the occasion to make things personal when he ends the lone Hunter himself or are we sticking to canon? Because I'm picturing Celine who, amongst the handful of immediate problems of the situation, has to figure out the logistics of being a primordial emoting spiritual bonfire of shame.
Next, how do the powers transfer? Is Boddy eligible to get Celine or his own Honmoon weapons? Is Gwi Ma now depowered? Can Celine **checking list** harm the honmoon, control the faceless and other demons, get in people's heads, have access to people's shame, make deals? And how much does her knowledge and beliefs about demons change from having driver's seat in Gwi Ma's POV?
Also, Demon Queen Celine has been done a couple of times now. One time, she stays herself and only has to move past becoming a demon and some of her trauma to use her CEO experience and become a good demon queen, other time there is something about being the demon ruler that just twists you into being a eviler version of yourself and now we have a competent Demon King to deal with ('cause let's be real, the Saja Boys were Jinu's initiative. Gwi Ma on his own might have actually starved even without a Golden honmoon). How are we feeling today?
On the other side of the coin, how inhuman is Gwi Ma? Because now is there an evil Bobby running around and only dealing with going from towering above others to being the shortest person in the room or does he need time to adjust to having respiratory, digestive, vasculatory, and nervous systems? Also, Gwi Ma in Bobby might sprout patterns so that's also a thing.
All the while we have Bobby going from short king to amazon also dealing with body coordination issues and being his very expressive self exercising muscles on Celine's face that she hasn't used since her idol days.
Scene wise, I see Bobby calling Celine while he's still at one of the concert scenes after another rehearsal gone not ideal. They rarely ask for her help anymore so when it happens so close to the IIA, she hurries and just mets him there. That's where Gwi Ma appears similar to his Your Idol entrance (and this way they can later blame the spectacle on pyrotecwithnics gone wrong) and he goes "Your end has can hunter!", Celine goes "Your demons had almost twenty years to finish the job yet I'm still here!", Bobby goes "Celine why are you roleplaying with a gaint talking fireworks display?!", the girls obviously feel the massive tear but were already home and have to run back. The honmoon panics at the retired hunter having to face Gwi Ma by herself and the swap happens. Also by the time the girls get there, is Celine still there or is she sent back to the demon realm and having to interact with demons has their interim new ruler instead of hunter (and probably cotempleting the idea of just trapping herself there to end demon attacks that way)?
I love every part of this!
I agree with you on the first part. Celine would never try to kill Gwi Ma while he's in Bobby's body because there's too much of a risk that Bobby's body would die along with Gwi Ma. Besides, Celine really wants her own body back and if she kills Gwi Ma, in Bobby's body, then where is Bobby, who's in her body, supposed to go? Although he'd be really easy to kill right now, killing Gwi Ma just isn't in the cards at this moment.
"What does Gwi Ma look like? Did he craft a body for the occasion to make things personal when he ends the lone Hunter himself or are we sticking to canon?" @blueleopard555 mentioned this but I like the idea of Gwi Ma having once been human, centuries and centuries ago, so he does have a human form but he hasn't been human in so long, so much so that you could argue he's forgotten nearly everything about being human. He crafts himself a body to go after Celine, and because he has that power now, and although he does look completely human he is dressed in clothes you definitely wouldn't find in 2025. His real form remains the fire form from the movie (which yeah Celine's gotta get used to that) but otherwise he looks pretty normal (save the clothing).
"How do the powers transfer? Is Boddy eligible to get Celine or his own Honmoon weapons? Is Gwi Ma now depowered? Can Celine **checking list** harm the honmoon, control the faceless and other demons, get in people's heads, have access to people's shame, make deals?" These are the big questions. In my mind, the powers stay with the body. So Bobby now has Celine's honmoon weapons (although he does NOT know how to use them), Gwi Ma now no longer has any powers and Celine does have the power to control other demons and make deals. For Bobby, I imagine that he doesn't want to use Celine's power as much as possible. He has no idea what Celine's twin swords can do and he doesn't want to risk hurting anything.
As far as Celine goes with now having Gwi Ma's POV, I think this would factor into a question I've been having: can Gwi Ma be redeemed? We don't know a lot about him in canon and I don't think he should suddenly become an incredibly sympathetic character but if he can be redeemed then we can explore a bit more of his rise to king and how he went from a regular human to the king of demons. For Celine, I think just the fact that she is a demon now changes her opinion. She see the demons are scared of her (in a different way then they usually are) and they don't even really want to collect souls, they have nothing to gain from it. Celine, despite having raised Rumi, still holds a deep hatred for demons so any interaction she has with demons starts off hostile but grows more sympathetic and understanding when she starts to understand more of the greyness in what she thought was a black and white story.
(Gonna put the rest of the response under this to keep it from getting too long)
Just had a thought that even some Trans!Celine headcanon might fit here too. They're all adjusting to their bodies but at least when it comes to the physical shell, Celine seems to be having an easier time. "What's that? Being in a male body actually kinda feels nicer in some ways? Nah, don't read too much into that. It's probably the evil thoughts talking or something." She also has to deal with accidently turning on demon voice, burning the honmoon if she doesn't keep herself in check which surely is good for her mental health, and having close calls where simply aggreing on something with someone almost turned into making a deal.
Meanwhile, Gwi Ma in Bobby's body is being introduced to cup noodles and the girls are received full on hugs from Bobby in Celine's body.
Anyway, one of the dominoes is that Takedown is definitely getting shelved. Even before Rumi being personally incomfortable with it comes up, they wouldn't be in the mood for it with Bobby's body having patterns and Celine being THE demon at the moment. They would also definitely argue about what to do about Golden. Maybe Celine tries to keep pushing for it and hope for the best. Worst case scenario, she gets banished to the demon world while Gwi Ma stays powerless on their side. Worthy sacrifice. Surprisingly, no one is okay with that.
Celine actually liking being in a male body and constantly talking about how nice it is gets her so many looks from the others because ‘what do you mean it’s not normal to long to be the other gender? Everyone goes through this.’ Celine would be in such a constant check on herself that she almost shuts down completely and doesn’t talk or do much with anyone. Only Rumi can get more than a few words out of her but even then it’s not much. Celine just doesn’t want to hurt her girls or the honmoon or ruin anything else because she couldn’t keep herself under control.
Gwi Ma does need food to stay alive and, as much as the girls hate feeding him, they want Bobby’s body to stay alive which means giving him food. Meanwhile Celine is living her dream because she’s in a body that doesn’t need to sleep or eat or anything so now she can keep working forever. (Bobby is crying in the corner because why does his body ache all the time)
Oh!! Wait this is pre reveal when Jinu is still under Gwi Ma (or now Celine’s) control. I’m gonna add to what you say and argue that, not only are the girls shelving Takedown and halting the golden honmoon, but they’re arguing for a break all together. Celine literally controls all demons now, she can just keep them in the underworld forever. Celine agrees that she’s happy to do that but Golden is also incredibly important and they need to sing it (it can get rid of Rumi’s patterns and maybe help Bobby too).
Mira: You could be stuck in the underworld forever.
Celine: A small price to pay for getting rid of Gwi Ma forever.
Zoey: Okay. You and Rumi need a class on how not to sacrifice yourself!
Celine: You sound like Mi-Yeong.
Timeline-wise, I believe we started around before the train scene when the girls were working on Takedown and Rumi was starting to have her doubts. Specifically before the train because I feel like having to slow down and unpack in front of your mentor, who trusted you enough to leave you unsupervised for years no less, having just lost a train full of people would become the focus and make some people spiral a lot more badly than they already are in this AU. Or do include it; I'm just pointing it out.
In the end, the girls agree to take a break. Mira and Zoey are enthusiastic about it since that was already the original plan before the early Golden release. It's also not difficult to convince Rumi. The three of them are clearly running more on desperation than passion these days, and even if they were at the top of their game, they're not gambling with Celine and Bobby's fates. On the bright side, they basically have Gwi Ma hostage at the moment, and Celine is making sure that the honmoon isn't being strained anymore. While it still isn't as bright as it was at the end of the world tour, there at least isn't anything actively pushing and clawing at it anymore. So, they have room to breathe. Celine herself isn't happy about it. She first thinks it's her situation that is stressing the girls out so much that they can't perform, and thus it's her fault they're not at their best, but when she argues further, they finally catch her up on why they've been having a hard time and contacted her in the first place, about both Rumi losing her voice and the Saja Boys stealing their fans. She finally relents and privately comforts Rumi about her patterns, telling her that they're in this together (probably more than they are ever going to get given the current circumstances).
Now, the problem is that while Celine restricted the demonic power as much as she could figure out how, thus allowing the breaches in the honmoon to heal, it happened while the Saja Boys were busy on the surface, so now they're stuck in Seoul and they can't contact Gwi Ma. They had felt him arriving on the surface, then things getting weird for lack of a better term, before finally his presence just disappearing. On account of demons not running amok in the city, it's likely that his stunt didn't pay off and he might be licking his wounds in the demon realm. Jinu was honestly surprised that the hunters, who as far as he knew were running themselves ragged trying to deal with him, had enough left in them to push back Gwi Ma but that clearly left them exhausted too. The official announcement pops up stating that Huntr/x is going on an early hiatus due to the world tour leaving them more gassed out than they expected and performing for the IIA right after was overambitious of them, so they humbly end their 5-year streak by congratulating the Saja Boys for their win (they might just come clean about Rumi losing her voice, or they let the narrative that the Saja Boys didn't dethrone them, they just weren't trying this year, be pushed). Now Jinu is blindsided. Did the hunters just... give up? It really seems like in a way, Gwi Ma stole his thunder. Jinu was the one to make these hunters falter first. Yet Gwi Ma only came in to seemingly fight one battle that pretty much ended in a draw. And it might not have even been worth it given that while the honmoon is as good as undefended at the moment, the king's power is basically gone too. Sure, the Saja Boys are now on top of the charts, but without Gwi Ma there to take advantage of it and, for some reason, not even opening a tear so that they can report back to the demon realm, progress on the overall plan is halted and the Saja Boys are basically suddenly stuck in the city with some confusion and a lot of free time. You can fit a B-plot here about them just finding things to do and staying out of trouble because a scandal about the legal existence of the Saja Boys being scrutinized might kill their momentum faster than a round 2 with Huntr/x would.
Soon after, Jinu tries to contact Rumi again, partly to gloat, mostly to get an idea of what he clearly missed out on. Problem is, with 6 people in the penthouse and Rumi actively making sure that Celine isn't left alone with her demons (only some of them literal), that clumsy spirit tiger is definitely getting noticed this time.

A demon disguises themself as Celine to try and fool Huntrix but real Celine arrives and the interaction is as follows:
Mira: "Two Celines!?"
Zoey: "Is this heaven? I read a fic that was like this once."
Rumi: "Ew, Zoey. Why. Clearly one's a demon."
Mira: "Yeah but which one?"
Demon Imposter: "She is! Kill it! Obviously I'm the real Celine!"
Celine: "Oh really? Wonderful. Here."
*grabs a heavy folder out her bag and smacks the Demon in their face*
Celine: "These are the latest talents. Be sure to read through them carefully before signing anything. Oh and the PR reports because Zoey's last internet rant caused quite a stir. They're losing their shit. Even Bobby started crying. Have fun!"
*walks pass everyone and throws herself on Huntrix's couch, grabs Zoey's plush turtle, puts it on her face and immediately passes out.*
Polytrix and Demon Imposter:
The demon actually feels bad for her so she tries helping Celine get some of the work done, and is pretty successful at a few things.
And then she fucks up majorly at one really big thing.
And Celine has to fix it.
And Huntrix would feel bad killing this demon now.
And this demon has nowhere else to stay.
Cue the goofy Roommate antics of Celine “your faults and fears must never be seen” Kang and a demon who was under Gwi- “I’m going to scream your faults and fears in your ear so hard you’re gonna hate yourself forever and do what I want you to because I said so” -ma’s control for a few hundred years!
This has now been going on for a couple of days. Imposter!Celine hanging out in Celine's suite and helping her with her paperwork has somehow become a thing. Celine is also catching herself starting to appreciate having the naive as it may be attention of someone who has literally no bias or stake in her job (or even human affairs in general). She has plenty of qualified personnel but no one close enough that she would give her less filtered business thoughts to.
Huntr/x have lowered their guard by this point while Celine thinks the demon is playing the long game or would have slipped up by now so they can just kill it and end the charade. When Celine confronts her double, the demon just admits that at this point the mission has already failed and there's no way she doesn't die the moment Gwi Ma sees her. And if anything, the hanging threat of your boss potentially killing you at the slightest misstep has been the most familiar part of her current situation. Celine is just insulted she was just compared to Gwi Ma.
