Tomorrow (Saturday) my little girl arrives! She has a name (revealed tomorrow when we pick her up), and an Instagram handle so DJ stuff doesn't get lost in tons of puppy photos and videos. 🐶🐾 So this is my first dog. Things I am prepared for: 1. a TON of puppy treats in a jar and in a hip pouch ready to start training her from day one. 2. taking her out to potty every couple of hours (around the clock) to house train her as soon as possible, until she's old enough to make it through the night. 3. training for focus, targeting and recall are priority. I have been told by several friends that she'll be easier to train when she learns these first. 4. I will only focus on positive operant training. Yes, I probably won't sleep much the next few months. Yes, she's going to make a mess at some point inside and that's okay.
